This place is a great way to start or end the evening. It doesn’t get too loud so you can actually hear the people you’re with talking to you. I really like the décor because it gives a kick ass punch to the traditional dive bar. I always take people visiting New York here because it’s places like this that make me think of an authentic New York. Just get the shot and beer special and you’ll have a great time. Rock on.

The perfect dive. I try to stop in for a beer and a shot every time I’m in the les. It’s grungy and divey without being ironic,(i.e. It’s not aimed at hipsters). They serve pbrs at the appropriate price and not because it’s clever. At the same time it’s inviting and friendly. It walks the perfect balance of local comfort without feeling like an exclusive club. One time in the winter they had no heat… no one cared, they just served«the coldest beers in the les» that day…

Nice atmosphere. Good place for a glass of Guinness. Came here with a group of friends. Excellent music choices! Not packed on a Friday night. Standard bar. No food…

Iggy’s Keltic Lounge NY: Manhattan: LES 10pm Saturday 20th February 2016 Four Stars Its definitely a dive bar. It’s not very Irish. There was loud hip-hop music and a very diverse crowd. I enjoyed $ 10 Maker’s Mark. I enjoyed the décor with Frank Sinatra Mug Shot, Evil Clowns, and plenty of Spray Paint Graffiti. However, Mike«the Pirate» was not there. I was severely disappointed. Next Time!

A nice cozy bar to hit if you need a spot to chilax. I liked the seats area, felt very comfortable and a laid back place. The funniest thing and first time that happened to me at a bar was, that the bartender asked me for ID to sell me Pineapple Juice!!! lol really, he said that was the bar’s rule. The doorman was very nice and friendly.

Average bar, GREAT bartenders. Seriously. Iggy’s was a stop during a 90’s-themed bar crawl and it was filled with drunken daydrinkers. The bartenders were awesome, cool, calm, collected, and very friendly. They had a special Pirate Hooker shot for $ 2 and it was excellent. The décor is pretty sweet too.

There is nothing like a dive bar on a chilly, midwinter night to warm you up. Iggy’s is the perfect mix of chill relaxation and fun loving atmosphere that everyone wants from a bar. Depending on the night, you can walk in to just a few regulars chatting up the bartender, eating Mikey’s burgers and fries while enjoying a cheap well drink. Other random nights you will walk in to find it filled with groups of friends who are loving the great juke box music and free flowing drinks. Even then it usually doesn’t feel over crowded, just like the space is being used for what it was intended. I’ve been lucky enough to be here plenty of times and I know I always enjoy myself. Whether I am with my boyfriend or a group of 20, I always receive the same great service that comes with a perfect dive bar. And by that I mean, be a pleasure to serve and they will serve you. Pirate Mike is always willing to chat up the clientele(if he has a moment) so take the opportunity to order a dirty pirate hooker shot and strike up a conversation with him. Happy Hour is always a fountain of cheap beer and well drinks from 6−8pm but even after that ends, we normally have been enjoying ourselves to much to leave. I strongly suggest hitting up Iggy’s if you’ve yet to cross its threshold or if its just been a little while. Those cheap drinks aren’t drinking themselves!!!

It’s a pub you wanna be a regular at. With a very long bar and the quickest, friendliest bartenders in Manhattan you’ll fall in love with the place by that alone. Great to meet up with friends and indulge in a very reasonable Happy Hour there. Be forewarned: They don’t serve food there but conveniently located on a street with many food options and you can bring food in with you. All in all with a great atmosphere, great staff, great prices and good company you can’t go wrong!

I love this dirty hole in the wall. Well, if I’m being honest I tend to love most hole in the wall dives, but that’s beside the point. Iggy’s and I go way back; it may not have always been our first choice of LES dives to visit, but it was always warming up in the bullpen when the others were too full to meet our… how do I put this nicely. «youthful enthusiasm» for cheap drinks served as quickly as possible. Fast forward a few years Some things have changed, some have not. I still appreciate a dive, and I still appreciate a cheap beer(OK so the only thing that’s changed is that I’m getting older… fun). Another thing that remains unchanged is Iggy’s. This dive bar nirvana is still a shi%hole, the music in the jukebox is still good, and the prices are still exceptionally cheap. It really is the dive of dive bars, which is absolutely a complement in my book. The bartenders remain pretty damn cool(shout out to Pirate Mike and his gift for getting people inebriated with those pirate hooker shots), which is obviously a good thing. Their working relationship with Mikey’s burger cannot be overstated; if you spend enough time here, you will absolutely be in need of a burger and fries, give a shout over to Mikey’s(or stop in, they are always playing good tunes, and the smell of the griddle doing its thing is heavenly), and they will bring you some food faster than you can order another round. This place is an institution on Ludlow, absolutely worth checking out if you’ve never been.

I came across this bar thought a Unilocal event that was for celebrating your new elite status. Since I was going to be in the area I’d figured why not stop by & check it out. Came by Friday after work for happy hour walked in & was completely taken back by how hot it was inside lord all mighty it was like a sauna! We managed to find seats by the bar, we settled in & had a few drinks. I tried the Blue Ribbon beer, nice & cold not bad my friend had a Jack & Coke this was good as well. As far as the place goes not much to be said here the place is very small, although it wasn’t jammed packed there were enough people in the house with that said probably the reason why it was so painfully hot In their. Décor wise very dive bar, funky & dimly lit. The bathroom was a hot mess w graffiti all over the walls it suits the place, crowd wise mix. everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. They offer great happy hour specials can’t go wrong with that. As for the event itself nothing was said about it? But no big deal here this was not an official event just happy hour get together. Good service at the bar, props to the bartender for being on point when there were so many people asking for drinks. This place was not bad I wouldn’t mind stopping by on occasion.

Iggys is the quintessential New York City dive bar. –Cheap Beer CHECK! –Cheap shots CHECK! –Rock music playing from the juke box CHECK! This places meets all the requirements of a divey New York watering hole. The bathroom is even tagged up like the 4 train in the Dinkins era. This is a place knows that knows its role. Your not coming here for serenity or opulence. Your coming here to get hammered for cheap. Their happy hour lasts till 9pm and offers $ 3 drinks and shots. I came here last night with a large group of Unilocalers and they did a great job of accommodating us. The bartenders got drinks out fast and did so with pleasant attitudes. They get bonus points from me because their juke box has Wu Tang Clan! That was a highlight of the night for me. Solid 4 stars here because Iggys got the job done and because Wu-Tang Clan ain’t nothin to F*** with. Bonus: If your hungry order a burger from next door at Mikey’s. The burger is extraordinary and they will deliver it to you in the bar.

I have been here many times, but one time in particular was just the best. It was late afternoon on Halloween, and kids were coming in and out, hopping up on the bar stool and the bartender would drop some candy in their buckets/bags. Or if she was busy pouring drinks, patrons sitting at the bar would be on candy duty, helping her out. It was so cute, kids dressed as bears or kittens or yodas, sitting at the bar. Then they got really low on candy, so the bartender gave me some cash to run to the drugstore and buy more, and after that, I didn’t pay for another drink, and got a couple of shots, too! This place is consistently excellent, but that visit was really, really good!

Bartender(Pirate Mike) is pretty great. Hit this place during a bar crawl in the area. Despite the decent crowd he carded us right away(everyone in the party was 35+) and asked us what we wanted. We didn’t have to wait as he went in a row across the bar. Also, it’s no problem to get a canned beer or multi step mixed drink. Solid place and great service. This place will definitely be on the next crawl. The music was bitchin’ too.

I used to not drink at all and I did not have my first drink until I was 25 so needless to say, once I started Unilocaling that went out the window. All that being said, drinking is a social activity, so when a friend invited me to Iggy’s I was dubious(I have not set foot in a «dive bar» since grad school) but as usual I was not steered wrong. This bar felt like home. Even on a Friday night it was only comfortably crowded, the tables were welcoming, the area was spacious and Pirate Mike dispensed drinks that were well-made and served quickly. The patrons were all similarly accommodating and courteous while he dirty pirate hooker shots tasted beautiful but had a kick that I felt almost immediately. I do not even know if I would classify this as a «dive» bar, since it was fairly clean and even though the bathrooms were littered with graffiti, they were actually immaculate. Happy hour ran from 6pm to 8pm but we were happy far beyond that time and spent another hour or two just enjoying drinks and ten dollars worth of 30 songs ranging from metal to punk to country. We were also able to bring outside food into the bar, which was a godsend as Mikey’s Burgers was right next door. I want to go back right now. To anyone reading this, however, know that the lock on the men’s bathroom door did not work, so to the nice patrons who immediately shut the door once they saw me popping a squat, looking mortified, thank you, you are too kind.

Iggy’s has become my new favorite dive. Why? I’ll tell you why. — Friendly bartenders, including Pirate Mike, who makes awesome shots and treats you like you’re a friend, not just a customer. — Plenty of seating and standing room, both at the bar and tucked away tables. — An actual jukebox, not an internet-based one that is loaded with Taylor Swift. This one ranges from Metallica to GNR to any punk band you can think of. — HH runs till 8PM and beers are $ 3 each. I’m not lying. They also have a special that includes 2 PBRs and a shot of tequila. — Dirty pirate hooker shots. I don’t know what’s in it and I don’t want to know but it’s delicious and goes down smooth. — Shiner on tap. — Bathroom walls covered in graffiti and god only knows what else, but the toilets themselves are clean(surprisingly). — A great friendly crowd(a guy accidentally knocked me in the head on my way back from the restroom and apologized about 10 times). — Takeout menus at the bar, so you can get food brought in and wash it down with a cold beer. This place is awesome. I can’t wait to come back for even more happy hours.

Again, I can’t emphasize how much I love this divetastic bar! After another night of boozing here during this past Friday happy hour I realized where I now want my ashes spread when the day comes. Walking in and taking a seat the heavy metal sounds of old Metallica, GNR, and Iron efffing Maiden are blasting out of the amazing jukebox here. Yes, this is a bar for metal, rock, and punk. If you listen to top 40 pop, hip hop, rap, crappy Taylor Swift and Maroon 5 dreck please leave and throw yourself under a bus. You have been warned. I just put $ 10 in the box and picked 30 songs that include Kiss, Maiden, Judas Priest, Ramones, Black Sabbath, and some Johnny Cash. Always play some Johnny Cash. A bartender who thinks he is a pirate, dresses like one, and will great you with a hearty hello while setting up your libation. Pirate Mike is the man. Ridiculously cheap happy hour until 8pm. $ 3 pints of Shiner along with a bunch of other decent beers on tap. Some $ 4 depending on the brew. Tall boy can of PBR and a shot for $ 5 or so. The pirate will also do some shots with you and treat you to a buyback. Life is good here. Plenty of spots to sit at along the bar and tables in nooks along the wall. Some of the most grafitti strewn bathrooms I have ever seen, but actually quite clean! Oh, and Mikey’s Burger next door is a godsend when you have the drunk munchies. They deliver here or just drag your sloppy ass next door to pick it up. I love a bar that will let you bring in food to eat. Always a fun, eclectic, and diverse friendly crowd. Saunter up to a spot at the bar along some punker, new wavers, rockers, suits, average joe and janes and strike up a conversation. It’s all good. Dirty Pirate Hooker Shots. That’s all you need to know. Just do it. Argggg!

Iggy’s ain’t so FANCY cuz it ain’t no Azalea joint. it’s a real bar stripped of glam as it’s all about the guts. the lone bright glow of a neighborhood bar that fights against the darkness of the dime-a-dozen craft cocktail bars that seem to be reproducing downtown faster than the speed of Ebola/fluenza. anyways, Iggy – what is it? simply. a great effing bar with cheap well and beer specials and friendly as hell bartenders. can you really beat PBR in can + a shot for like 5 bucks? i think not. darkly lit. regulars perched at the bar. booths filled with edgy gals n their dirty gentz. faint colored highlighting what needs to be seen but keep what doesn’t need to be viewed in the shadows. Iggy’s is a place to take friends, talk loud, laugh louder, drink more, and spend less. it’s fairly simple formula for the night. disobey it and you’ll be the one missing out. came here recently after a long break from said«dive bar» and shenanigans picked up right where the left off. regulars don’t bat an eye at the insanely fun pandemonium around them… classic line of the night: «i’m gonna be godfather to an Asian baby» classic move of the night: :doing cat jazz hands: somehow we ended up with an insane amount of PBR cans and a rando glass of Scotch on the rocks. this place be magical. Iggy’s has a jukebox, bathrooms, booths, and a variety of booze… and funny/disturbing knick-knacks placed all abouts. this is a great place for birthdays bar-nanzas, late night shenanigans, or taking that girl or boy that you don’t want to let into your apt bc they’ll kill you in your sleep! drops the mic, but not the PBR and whiskey! i out.

Good dive bar and by dive bar expect what you normally assort with the words dive bar. Prices are great for the beers and drinks and I’m digging the vibe. I guess I’m a dive bar kind of guy. This dive bar is located a little farther than all the other bars in the area and I guess it gives them this feel of come if you want. I dig that. They check I. D’s. I dig that. The clientele was okay but with a few more hot females coming in, I would have dig that. I really like this dive bar. Did I say dive bar too much? I dig that.

Had a hell of a time here! Gets pretty packed after 10PM on Saturday like most bars in the area. Music was rocking and the drinks were a pouring! Bar chick was more than awesome.
