Shopped here a few times, helpful staff.

I found a pair of shoes I like for $ 120. What a hard decision. I’ve got to talk to my daughter again for her advice.
Richard in Jack Rabbit is so nice he understand my dilemma. I told him I need to think about it. My daughter and I go in there for her running gear. I keep looking at the shoes.
I want something stylish and comfortable. I hate most of my shoes. Converse are just not good for long walks. I’m not playing basketball!
Jack Rabbit is a great store with knowledgable employees. I highly recommend. I’ll let you know if I make out better elsewhere. :-)
I returned on 5÷12÷16 for the end of season sale. I was assisted by Melanie. She was so helpful with getting the fit correct. She kept in mind the brand and style I had my heart set on. Finally got the pair I need and saved $ 40.00! Great experience at this store. I’ll return each time I need new shoes… Highly recommend.

JackRabbit really has the best employees, hands down. They are what compels me to go to the store rather than buy online (although sometimes I do buy online because they draw from a network of stores all over the country and therefore have a broader selection which is super important when my shoes go on sale).
Every time I’m there, I get helpful recommendations and friendly service. I was a bit skeptical on my first trip when I went to buy running tights and I had picked out a pair to try on and an employee steered me in another direction towards a pair of Sugoi tights. I thought it might be an up-​sell, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that they were actually cheaper than the ones I had been thinking about and after a winter of running in them, I could say that they really were excellent.
They also have free running groups a few nights of the week and their rewards program is solid.

It is highly recommended. Every item is with great quality. Just a very little overpriced but still worth it.

As a resident of the Upper East Side, I have come to this Jackrabbit for my running needs many times. The salespeople are pleasant and always helpful and have been key in helping me find the perfect running and cross training shoes. The recommendations start with the display items and usually results in a myriad of choices being brought out from the storage room. Based on their suggestions, I have bought sneakers in brands and colors I would never think of buying and I’ve never regretted my purchase. They also have a decent selection of workout gear and supplies. It also pays to shop here because they have a rewards program which gives discounts on future purchases. My only suggestion to Jackrabbit would be to install one or two more mirrors in the store. Otherwise, shopping here makes me feel like I’m in a neighborhood store with friendly, non-​judgemental sales associates and it’s my go to place whenever I need to replace my sneakers!

There’s just something about a running store that makes me happy, but this JackRabbit really is one solid store. Stopped in here during my weekend visit with friends looking for a new water bottle and a running hat. I wasn’t able to find a hat as their selection was one lone hat in the back, but I was able to get a new water bottle and a few extra items I did not intend on buying. The staff here was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable of the sport and gear/​items they sell. I now understand why my running friend utilizes this JackRabbit for all of her running gear. I’m sure she appreciated me using her account to add to her rewards points as well.

Very knowledgeable sales people who will help you find the right shoe. There are treadmills for you to try out the shoes but I don’t think there are cameras here where they can tape you running, or at least, they didn’t do it for me. This is where New York Running Company wins because they do a good job of taping how you run. This is especially important for new runners who are by familiar with how their foot lands– pronation, supination, or neutral.
Anyways, I had done my research on the right type of shoe that I needed and had 3 different shoes in mind. I called ahead to make sure they had all shoes that I wanted in the latest model. The sales person was very patient and let me try all the shoes. He was extremely knowledgeable as well. I was looking to switch from Brooks to Asics and found a pair of Asics with gel inside, and it’s so cushy and comfortable.
They also have a good selection of running clothes and even sports detergent. They also have an ok selection of gels.
This store is not big but it’s decent. It’s also near the subway station. I will be back!

I am new to racing and triathlons and every single time I’ve gone in there someone in the staff (Anna and Luke off the top of my head) has helped me get the right equipment and given me super helpful tips.
They are experts and they never made me feel like an amateur asking silly questions. In Jack Rabbit I’m always treated like a fellow athlete and feel part of a supportive community. How cool is that for you shopping experience!!!
They will go above and beyond to make sure your race is a success… I have an Ironman 70.3 coming up and if it weren’t for this shop I’d be pretty lost.
To sum up: THEY ROCK!!!

I came to New York thinking I would be here for just a couple of days, and so didn’t bring athletic shoes. My visit has extended to ten day (and counting), and coincided with what looks to be spring, so I went on the hunt for a new pair of running shoes.
This place is perfect. No nonsense, no bs, they know what they are talking about and they are excited to get you set up with what you need. And they could not be more friendly-​cannot stress enough how genuine and engaging the staff are.
My feet and I applaud you!

This place was so easy to find. Upon arrival I was greeted and a sales person named Patrick helped me out. I did a gait analysis on the treadmill because I needed some new running shoes. And he was very tentative and asked lots of questions so I could find the perfect shoe. After trying on a couple different pairs I fell in love with a great pair of shoes. I would go there again in a heartbeat and recommend anybody to go to that store. Patrick was the best!

Nothing negative here. However if your looking for vibrams, they’ve stopped selling them. Take a trip over to paragon sporting goods in union sq

I make it a point when traveling thru the US to walk into running stores or check out Expos and so, without hesitation I can say Jack Rabbit is the best for service, apparel, sneakers, staff with superior knowledge, and all the things you need to run long distance or short distance. They have the best selection of running nutrition too; gels, beans etc. The staff on the UES are the best! friendly, down to earth, none of that «I am Better Than You» attitude you get from most speciality shops and NYC places. They offer great free classes, training classes for a good fee and free weekly running groups; which are a lot of fun. This is a gem! And in a City where customer service is a rarity this place is special! Runners, Triathletes, Yoga people, and all the above go go go to Jack Rabbit!

I see a 4.5 star average for this Jack Rabbit, but sadly I didn’t see that reflected in my last visit.
Selection was limited and I didn’t think the service was very good. Polite and friendly, however there was only one person fitting running shoes so with only 3 customers there, you still had to put your name on waiting list. The gentleman helping with fittings announced that he is cyclist not runner which might give the inexperienced shopper pause. You check out a place like Jack Rabbit for their expertise. He could be very knowledgeable, but you can’t forget what they say about perception equalling reality. Also, he kept telling one customer that he would get her on treadmill running to see what may be best fitting show options for her… this was after she let him know she is a walker, not a runner. Hmmm. Check out was also very slow, and no one seemed to be very knowledgeable about the different energy products they sold for distance training/​racing.
I don’t think I’d visit this store again unless in the neighborhood and out of Hammer Nutrition energy bars.

I stopped by one day honestly to have no intention of buying anything. I was going to get a stride test, maybe try on some shoes and then say «thanks» and find the same items for a cheaper price online. What happened instead was that I got a stride test done, tried on some shoes then ended signing up for their rewards card.
The store here seems small because it’s packed with so many different things, neoprene suits, shoes, goggles. The back area is filled wall to wall shoes and there are two tread mills to check your stride.
Our salesperson was really helpful and low pressure. She really wanted to make sure that what I got was something I was comfortable with that would suit my needs. She brought out a couple options and by luck the one I was most comfortable with was the cheapest one and I figured, even the interwebs couldn’t beat the price by much, so what the hell. I bought a pair of running socks and it came out to about 100 bucks which earned me points towards a free pair of socks so I just signed up for their rewards program to on top of it.
I don’t know how much better it gets, basically to go from not intending on buying anything to being won over to their rewards program.

As my first triathlon inches ever closer, I decided that I really needed to complete my tri gear with the purchase of a wetsuit. Will it do anything to prevent the Hudson water from touching me? No, not at all, but at least I’ll be more buoyant and warm!: P
Anyway, outside of one scuba diving experience in Cabo San Lucas, I had never put on a wetsuit before, so it was off to JackRabbit to get some advice and try some suits on.
The staff and JackRabbit were very helpful and enthusiastic about my race! They helped me with sizing and got me into a full sleeved wetsuit in no time at all. The only reason I’m not giving this a 5 star review is because they only had long sleeve options at this location, and I was leaning towards sleeveless. They also only rent wetsuits at the UES location. If you want to purchase, head on down to the Union Square spot.

I stopped by one day because I needed new swimming goggles. I was so happy with the service, that I decided to stop in for some new sneakers. I really could’ve gone anywhere but I had a hunch that this place would treat me right.
Indeed I was correct. When I stopped in, I was quickly greeted and instructed to put my name on the waitlist for shoes. A few minutes later, the sales associate was helping me. Here, they have you run on a treadmill so they can pick the best pair of shoes for you. He brought me three pairs and I selected two to try on. I ended up with a pair of super cute blue sneakers that I am really excited to wear.
The return policy is 14 days for store credit. I also recommend signing up for their rewards program. Every $ 100 you spend gets $ 10 off a future purchase.
Since I have other sports needs, I will certainly be back.

As always, really great customer service. Shoes are on the pricey side but that’s how much they cost elsewhere, they’re good-​quality shoes and the staff can explain why they are built the way they are and what type of foot and fitness suit them best.

I came, to buy some supplements and I was shocked how friendly the staff were!
The prices were good, the employees were very friendly and I walked out very satisfied!

Places like this makes me think the local businesses have a chance against shopping online. Customer service is central to Jackrabbit and is what made us come back to buy our running shoes here, even though we do not live in the neighborhood.
We randomly found the store as we were strolling through the UES and decided to walk in. They have two treadmills that take video of your feet as you are running, to measure your pronation — which in turn helps pick your shoes.
The selection of merchandise isn’t comprehensive but they have enough here to keep runners at all levels happy. And
the prices seem pretty in-​line with what you see online as well so it is not like you are being forced to overpay for a higher level of service. We honestly did not bother to look at their selection of non-​running shoe stuff but they also seemed to carry swimsuits and other exercise gear as well.

We finished a NYRR run and Jack Rabbit was sponsoring the run so we thought why not, let’s go check out what this running store is all about!
We arrived and there were 2 people ready to greet people and get them on the treadmill. Yup, I said READY TO PUT THEM ON THE TREADMILL! This is mostly a running store and they specialize in matching a pair of shoes to your running style. They put you on the treadmill and record you from the rear… Not to see your behind but to see the way that you plant you feet on the ground. They do a terrific job of showing the angle that you land and lift off as well as slow motion to see if you put your pressure on one side or the other.
After wards, the pull 3 – 4 pairs of shoes that they think might match what feels good with your running style. Put them on, jump around, get back on the treadmill… Don’t like it? No problem, onto the next one!
They have a point system that you earn one point for every dollar you spend. Some days you get double the points when they have promotional days which is terrific because every 100 points equates to $ 10 that you can spend at the store. The day we went was double point day so my $ 115 shoes earned 230 points = $ 20 That being said, my only criticism is that the shoes are generally full price and if you do purchase a discounted shoe, you don’t earn any JackRabbit «points.» The boyfriend purchased a shoe that happened to be on sale and we did not earn any points. Bummer.
It turned into an hour long session but it was so worth it because I found a wonderful pair of running shoe that I can’t wait to put on the trek. Kiss my fast…=)

I decided to start running again since by the time I get home from work it’s pitch black and I rather run than ride and get hit by a car.
I came here and get analyzed by one of the associates. I forget her name but she spent a while with me trying four different types of shoes and going over the videos with me from the treadmill.
The prices were the same that I saw online which was nice, so overall it was a great place to learn more about what I needed as I re-​start my journey as a runner.
