My visit with Dr. Jahn was not a great experience. While Dr. Jahn seemed like a nice guy, the office seems to be run in a very amateur fashion. I was told that the doctor was running 30 minutes late upon my arrival, no big deal, these things happen. I sat in the waiting room for 30 minutes, and then spent another 30 in the exam room still without the doctor. So the 30 minute wait turned into an hour. Once the doctor came in, he gave me a quick exam and all in all spent maybe 10 minutes with me. He wrote me a prescription which I asked to be called into my CVS, «no problem» I was told. The doctor gave the script to the front office and was told by one of the employees that she«doesn’t all pharmacies» and that he needed to get it to someone else to call in. To make a long story short when I arrived at my CVS, 3 hours later, the script hadn’t been called in. I can speak very little about the Dr. himself, seemed like a nice guy but after an hour wait at his office then another 30 minutes at CVS because my script wasn’t called in, it was a very frustrating experience and I would recommend to look elsewhere for your ENT needs.

Dr. Jahn is a wonderful ENT. If you are a performing artist, he is a wonderful resource. He has been business for many years, was the House ENT for the Metropolitan Opera(and has a roster full of famous singers in his practice). He is a regular contributor of articles discussing vocal health in «Classical Singer», and a long standing professional associate member of the New York Singing Teachers’ Organization. I personally have used him for many years, and appreciate his conservative approach to healing. The trend everywhere now in this field is surgical intervention. Dr. Jahn has a much better approach. If the underlying cause is NOT organic(ie something like cancer, allergic dysfunction or a bacterial infection), he will recommend the patient learn to correctly use their voice, ESPECIALLY if they are a professional performer. He also is very cautious in his recommendation of steroid usage, which can often do more harm than help the problem if the person continues to abuse their voice. He is the director of the Roosevelt Head and Neck group(most insurance is taken as well). On top of all his credentials, he is charming and approachable.
