I read a lot of reviews of the top places to go for diamonds in New York City before I went and Jangmi’s reviews and customer comments were by far the best. Not to mention the photos of all they’ve made posted on Unilocal and Facebook were nearest the aesthetic that I wanted.
They did a wonderful job of making a diamond and sapphire eternity band that matched my 7 stone diamond and sapphire wedding band. They let me try on different ring sizes to find the right band width, sized my finger several times to ensure they were making the right size and quoted what I thought was a fair price for a ring that would be made just for me.
Not only that, but they were able to do the ring in under a week! We were from out of town and came in on a Thursday right after we arrived in New York, fully expecting them to say that it couldn’t be made in that sort of time. Although the lady who makes the rings looked stressed, she said that if we gave her until Tuesday at 6pm, she would get it done. We wound up getting a call 2 hours earlier saying the ring had been completed.
The ring is beautiful and exactly what I was looking for! The price we were charged was very reasonable given the number of diamonds and sapphires, as well as the time frame they were given to complete the job.
We never felt rushed to make the decision and they did a wonderful job! Also when we went to pick up the ring, they all immediately recognized us and knew what ring we were there for. Mr. Kim made sure that my husband put the ring away in our backpack before we left the store so that it was safe. They were very friendly and kind and I would return to them for my next piece of jewelry the next time we go to New York.

The ring was made 2 months ago, and he proposed last night, so it finally officially belongs to me!
I have always wanted something special, non-​traditional, one-​of-​a-​kind, and different. I have explored Catier, Tiffany, and other big names thoroughly, but nothing was really «me». So I decided to customize it and went to the No. 1 on Unilocal,Jangmi. Speechless of how I like it. The ring is gorgeouse, the process was much shorter than expected, all staff were sooooooooo nice, and the cost was much less than our budget.
The very good thing about customizing your ring is that you can pick your favorite diamond and do your favorite design. Nothing needs to compromise — I mean, for example, I found a heart shaped ring in Tiffany, but the diamond was too big for me and the quality was not as high as I want, and the price was 10k higher than our budget. But if you do a customize ring, you can have both your favorite diamond and design. And if you want to do customize, don’t think too much, go straightly to Jangmi. Trust I and other Unilocalers leaving reviews here. 100% recommend this place!

I can’t speak to the ring shopping experience quite like my fiancé (who did an absolutely AMAZING job researching and purchasing the ring without me having an inkling of a clue) can, but from what he has told me, Jangmi took the time to answer every single one of his questions. Knowing Michael, this was probably quite a task as he tends to have a lot of questions when it comes to something he has researched on and is about to spend $$$ on.
The diamond and setting itself are absolutely stunning! I originally wanted a micropave setting, but Jangmi had advised against it as the micropave setting is typically glued in versus clamped in and also would not support the diamond as well. I’m soooo happy they advised Michael on this and love how it turned out!
We went back together yesterday to get it resized and it was free of charge. Plus they will be able to get it back to us in 3 days! They are able to clean it for you whenever you go in too! Thank you Jangmi for making such a beautiful ring for Michael and me!

My fiancé and I had the best experience and Jangmi! He found them by doing some research online and went to find a diamond to use with the vintage band he purchased online.
The first time he went, they were already closed but Mr and Mrs Kim’s daughter let him in and they talked about what he wanted. They had him come back the next day when they were open, and Mr. Kim looked at the band and showed several stone options in his price range. There was never any pressure to purchase.
I am obsessed with the ring they created! The band was just a tad big so I took it in to get resized and they took care of it in 3 days and didn’t charge any extra. They remembered him as soon as I walked in with the ring and were very happy to hear how much I love it. We will definitely visit them again in the future.

Great customer service, quality, and price. They work with you one on one to ensure all of your needs are met. They also don’t stop their service after you’ve made a purchase– they do free cleanings and other amenities for life. The quality of the diamonds are second to none. The hearts and arrows are perfect and create the most beautiful effect. My ring sparkles so much that it’s hard to get a picture that doesn’t have a ray coming from it! HIGHLY recommend.

Good service and personal touch. I didn’t feel like I was being taken for a ride. They will clean your ring every time you come in and they are very good at recommending things for guys who have no idea what is going on.
Update: Went back for my wedding band– was reminded of why I loved this place– Mrs. Kim was so sweet to my Mom and even knowingly caused us to delay our purchase by suggesting we think again about breaking my grandmother’s unique heirloom jewelry to make a ring. My mom, an extreme skeptic initially, was extremely pleased with her honesty and kindness. Highly recommended.
I will say one thing, as a smart Unilocal elite customer who had no experience ring shopping and wants to give guidance: no matter where you go (just an overall rule of jewelry shopping in Manhattan) the first time you go anywhere, nail down a price WITH SPECS and do not let anyone budge from that. Often places will give you a low price early on because they just want you to come back after your initial search. Then there’s a bait and switch. So have them write it down and bring it with you every time you go back.

Visiting the notorious «Diamond District» can be very intimidating when you are shopping around for the right diamond. Once you step into Jangmi, you are immediately put at ease. Mr and Mrs Kim are amazing at what they do. They were never pushy and always took great lengths to service myself and my fiancé. It is a family owned business with an amazing inventory of diamonds that sparkle like none other. The staff worked together with us to pick the perfect stone for our budget. I am very happy with my experience at Jangmi. If you are looking for diamonds for that special person in your life, Jangmi should definitely be one of the choices. There is a reason why they have a perfect review score online.

So we were referred here by a friend and I must admit I have yet to be disappointed.

I had the best experience at this place, before I came here from abroad I read all about it and it was beyond the expectations! I visited there on my last day’s trip to buy an engagement ring and they told me that it should take a few days, but for me they will make it on time, and after a few hours it was ready!!! Shopping for an engagement ring is a daunting task and I was lucky enough that a coworker referred me to Jangmi. Mr. & Mrs. Kim were incredibly knowledgeable and showed me what to look for when choosing the right diamond. Their diamond qualities are top of the line and at no point did I feel pressured into buying from them. Christina was also extremely helpful and patiently helped me each time I went back with more questions. Jangmi really put my mind at ease and my fiancée absolutely loves her ring.

I wanted to personally thank Mr & Mrs Kim for helping my Fiancé pick and design the perfect ring for me. I couldn’t be happier with the results! We went back together for wedding bands and they are very warm welcoming and do top of the line work for all of their customers!

Mr. and Mrs. Kim were as wonderful as it gets. I had visited a few other places to test the waters before coming here — it was like night and day. They were helpful, insightful and patient. I had in mind what I wanted but did not know the best way to explain it — they are experts who helped me find the perfect ring! They were easy to work with, trustworthy and kind — I’ve already suggested them to another friend and will continue without any question.
They were great about getting the ring sized after the proposal (it was a little too big). They helped my fiancé get the exact size that she needed and turned it around rather quickly.

Such a delight to see Mrs. and Mr. Kim. I braved parade crowds just to get my rings cleaned today– wouldn’t trust anyone else with them and literally, they always come out looking brand new. Mrs. Kim also inspects the rings to make gem isn’t loose, etc. Jangmi is definitely my #1 recommendation– The prices are very fair, there is no pressure, and it’s conveniently located in the Diamond District.
Though the free lifetime cleanings are also dangerous… They have many beautiful pieces on display while you wait :)

I have been waiting to write a review for Jangmi, and after getting married, I guess I have no more excuses. I chose Jangmi after seeing the feedback on Unilocal and following my initial encounter with Mr. Kim, I decided that this was the place due to their warm and incredible personal service.
I ended up buying an engagement ring as well as our wedding bands at Jangmi. For the engagement ring, I found Mr. Kim to be very quick in showing me different types and his diamonds were all of excellent quality. But despite his ease in showing everything, he never pressured me into making a decision. His wife was incredibly sweet and helped nail down the ring size by comparing one of my then fiancé’s rings (which was between sizes) and trying them on several of her fingers. She also asked what kind of work she does, which is important because the thickness of the ring does matter if you have to use your hands or wear gloves.
Now the location can get a little cramped, especially when it gets busy — but I can tell you, their service is miles above other diamond places. I have been to other places where it takes them forever to get the diamond and they ended up getting the ring size wrong. At Jangmi, the ring fit perfectly (to my relief) and they were able to get it set within 2 weeks — which was at my request since I needed it earlier. Each time I went back with my fiancé, they would all recognize me and would clean the rings free of charge.
Overall, we had a great experience from start to finish. The Kims are amazing people with incredible knowledge and kindness to match.

The ring is definitely very very beautiful and service was very great.

I went to many store including Tiffany store, none of the place has such a quality of diamond same the store. I would say I’m glad I found this place.

Mrs. Kim remembered me after a year!
This past year, as she warned, a few of my tiny diamonds did fall out, but they immediately fixed it and returned it! She even went so far as to remake a new one for me! (Totally my fault since my work is an insanely hands-​on job.)
When I came back again, she was there to help my sister and I plan out our mother’s birthday ring within our budget. There was NO judgement at all! I know some of ya’ll will drop thousands on a ring (when I came here the first time, someone was buying this gorgeous ring that costs the same as my car!!), but my sister and I are students and Mrs. Kim worked with us.
We came back the next day with our mom’s ring size, but we failed to realize they would be closed on New Years. Mrs. Kim was still willing to help us out, though!
How can you not love a place that makes gorgeous jewelry at a reasonable price with phenomenal customer service?!

My husband and I had purchased my engagement ring and our wedding bands all from Jangmi Jewelry last year. I had waited this long to write a review because honestly, I wanted to wait and see if their service was consistent, and I can say now that it sure is.
I love how they cater to your specific needs. For example, they ask what you do for a living, what styles you are looking for, what your budget is. They do not pressure you to go beyond your budget, which I found to be amazing. My husband definitely appreciated that :)
I am so beyond THRILLED with my 2.5 carat, round-​brilliant, signature-​ideal cut engagement ring in knife edge platinum setting, as well as my 1.5 carat, platinum pave wedding band! My husband is a physician so since he was looking for something ultra light and comfortable, I purchased a platinum «comfort-​fit» band for him, as recommended by Mrs. Kim.
During our honeymoon to Italy I had accidentally banged my engagement ring (hard) multiple times (whoops!) on doors, shelves, tables (its hard getting used to wearing rings, I wasn’t a jewelry-​person prior to getting married) and toward the end of our trip I noticed that the diamond was loose inside the prongs. Right after we arrived back home, we went to Jangmi to fix it and it only took one day. They even cleaned it up and it was shining/​sparkling like it was brand-​new :)

I found this jewelry store on Unilocal when I was looking for a ring for my then girlfriend, now fiancé. If you’ve ever had to go engagement ring shopping then you know how it is. Worse is what the diamond district is like with aggressive salesmen outside of the stores. The stand is pretty easy to find inside of the «mall». It’s the one usually with a bunch of people around.
I was helped out from Mr Kim. He helped me find what I wanted. Picking out the ring after learning about diamonds and rings was not too difficult with his help. I didn’t feel pressured and that helped the experience be a positive one. I paid for the ring and received it a short time afterwards. I couldn’t be happier about it and proposed to the girlfriend and she said yes.
