I love this facility. It’s the best public track in either Manhattan and the Bronx. I has a great surface and is well marked. !!!HOWEVER, DONOTLEAVEYOURBAGSUNATTENDED!!! I’ve given the facility 2 stars as there have been multiple thefts in this facility including 2 in my last 2 visits, It appears at least 2 of teenagers of Latino appearance enter and exit through the open gate behind the bleachers. On the latest occasion police traced a phone to a T-Mobile store on East 138th St within minutes. If you do lose any belongings there is a police station located inside the Yankee Stadium Subway Station and I suggest you go there immediately.

The Joseph Yancey track is awesome. It’s a well-surfaced and marked 400m track adjacent to Macombs Dam Park. It’s best in the morning, as it can get pretty crowded in the evening. It’s also well-maintained and they have grounds keeping staff around pretty frequently. The people who work out here are pretty friendly and courteous, too.

It is by far the best track in the Bronx. It’s a ¼ mile track with a football/soccer field in the middle, a section with bars, a handball court, basketball courts and ample space for you to do your own exercise routine. Everyone is busy doing their own thing that no one bothers anyone else. There is a bathroom on the right hand side with a water fountain. It closes promptly at 10pm when the lights shut off. It’s conveniently located right across the street from Yankee stadium so you can’t miss it. I highly recommend it for an evening or early morning walk/run.One of my favorite places in the Bronx.
