First place that we grabbed a drink after checking into our hotel in NYC. It was down the block from us, and was the perfect place to unwind after a long journey from SFO! Not super crowded or too loud, good drinks. Check them out if you are staying near MSG or south of Times Square!

Like many others, we were looking for somewhere a little different to go before a concert at MSG. I don’t really care for and am sick of the usual suspects near there. We had a group of 8, so I called the day before to see about a reservation. I was happy they were able to accommodate us on short notice. When we arrived, the staff was friendly and we were brought to our table right away. The bar area was large and inviting. It was also a bonus that happy hour seems to run every day until 8pm and includes select beer, wine and cocktails. Sold! The rest of our group(except for my bf & I) were running a lot late, and I was feeling bad, but thankfully the restaurant didn’t give us any issue, and allowed us to get our drink ordering going! Between all of us we tried sliders, kale dip, flatbread, calamari, a veggie burger, truffle fries, and more. All of it was pretty good! The grilled cheese seemed to be a bit of a disappointment, but it was still alright. Overall, we had a great time, prompt & friendly service, and good pre-show food & drinks. As As plus, the bathroom was very clean as well. I look forward to going back when I’m in the area or going to MSG again!

This is an excellent place. The steak wrap was great, as is the lobster roll and the Vietnamese wings. The bartenders Samantha, Irena and Lex are fabulous. I highly recommend this place to any passerby… especially if you’re headed to Madison square garden or anywhere in midtown Manhattan.

Not open on a Sunday night as Unilocal suggests! Have been before for the burgers which were very good, thou when they say it’s spicy they really really mean it!

Ambiance was great for after work drinks with friends. The food was okay. I tried the grilled cheese which was good when fresh but I took half home and it didn’t reheat well. The yucca fries were definitely interesting and next time I’ll try the others. We ordered a pitcher of their sangria special which tasted good but definitely was watered down. Probably a good place just for drinks and apps.

One of my BFFs picked this place to go before a concert at MSG. Location was perfect in reference to MSG. As it was around the new year, and we were concerned people might come here before the concert at MSG, my friend made a reservation. Juniper was super smooth to deal with in regards to the reservation, and were very easy going. We happen to come in during happy hour. Who doesn’t love a happy hour. I was drinking the cucumber jalapeño margaritas. They were good, but, I didn’t really taste ANY jalapeño. It was still good. Food, we got the flat bread and kale & artichoke dip. Both were really good, especially the flat bread, and enough for eight people. Across the table we got both the regular sliders and the crab and lobster sliders, lobster tacos, calamari, truffle fries, veggie burger. I got the grilled cheese. For the most part, everything was really good. The truffle fries were amazing. The grilled cheese, I think they needed more cheese. A lot more cheese. The chutney, I felt it should have been on the side and not IN the sandwich. It was pretty much a chutney sandwich with a teeny piece of cheese inside. Don’t get me wrong, the chutney was good, but I wanted a grilled cheese. I would definitely go back here before another concert at MSG.

Dropped in for a quick bite before running to a show at MSG. We had fast service and the brussel sprouts and chicken wings were delicious.

This place stands out street that’s mostly business hotels and Irish pubs. The interior was surprisingly nice, and the server was very attentive without being overbearing. Got the wings and burger, which were solid but not by any means standout.

I can only speak for the drinks. Mine was horrible. Maybe I came on the wrong night?

Came here for work drinks the night before Thanksgiving and it fit the bill well. I wasn’t paying so can’t comment properly but the drinks seemed to be a good price(didn’t try the food). Turned up with no reservation around 5pm and it was already bustling and busy so seems to be popular. I wouldn’t make a special trip here but if you work in the area it’s definitely a good work drinks option. I prefer more of a speakeasy/cosy vibe for drinks with friends/dates.

Did we just come here on a bad night for the kitchen? This food was insanely, insultingly bad. The big bleu burger was simultaneously the greasiest and most tasteless thing I’ve ever eaten. It mainly tasted like room-temp vegetable oil in semisolid form. The patty was totally unseasoned and very underdone. For some reason there was a pool of oil on the plate underneath the burger. The shrimp in the sliders had the funk of old frozen and reheated seafood. The French fries were so over-fried the texture ended up being like eating wooden sticks. Probably the best tasting thing on our plates was the ketchup. Service was fine, wine was adequate, décor is decent for midtown and the proximity to penn station is appreciated, which is why this place doesn’t get only one star.

Recommend: Mini burgers, cheese steak spring rolls, lobster mac and cheese. The truffle fries were good, but soggy. I like my fries crunchy! My friends love them though. Don’t recommend: the fried calamari. We should have known better. They also place it over this sweet and sour sauce which they pour on the plate way too heavily. Drinks are strong, they’re not some of the best«speciality cocktails» I had but they do the job. It’s a fun place, especially among the often bridge-and-tunnel options. I’d definitely come back!

I love the creativity within the menu here. In a sea of generic, crowd-pleasing restaurants in this part of town, Juniper provides a breath of lobster-scented fresh air. No seriously, about half the things here have either lobster or truffle oil in it. It’s really fun. For my lunch, I got an order of sweet chili drizzled calamari, and truffle fries. The calamari was fresh and crisp, and the chili added a nice sweet-spicy kick. The truffles fries are probably what really took the cake though. I could not get enough of the truffle aioli that came with it. My colleague got a lobster BLT, and the other got a chicken miso wrap and both of their plates were empty by the meal’s end, so presumably those things knocked it out of the park too.

I had a very good experience at Juniper my first time around. I asked if I could sit at a table, and I was quickly seated and handed menus. I ordered their lobster BLT with truffle fries and a glass of prosecco. The lobster BLT was pretty good(more like 3 stars) but the truffle fries are a MUST order. I will definitely be back, even if it’s just for prosecco and truffle fries. :) Also, Juniper is pretty loud around HH time, which was fine with me, but more of an FYI to the folks who want to have more a low key HH or dinner.

Quick tips: Fun place to come for drinks and snacks. They make a good vodka martini and the truffle fries. The truffle is in the fries and the aioli. Also, the Mediterranean Flatbread is good and light with fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, baby arugula, balsamic glaze, and olive oil. I would get the truffles fries and mediterranean pizza and suggest asking them to add truffle oil that comes on the grilled pizza — DOUBLETRUFFLE.

So I googled«where to go before Billy Joel» because I was seeing him at the Garden(amazing btw), and up popped Juniper. Who’s website literally said«need dinner before Billy Joel???» I work near MSG, so I’m here everyday. It’s a struggle to find somewhere NICE to eat. So this was an awesome find. Interior is beautiful Food was great! We had: Beet Salad– this was the only«miss». I feel like it was mostly weird fennel, and barely any beets and goat cheese. Dressing was nice. Pizza app– REALLYREALLYREALLY good. Thai Burger– pretty much amazing Bacon Cheese burger– pretty much amazing. Truffle Fries– get in my belly. Highly recommend it, not just if you’re in the neighborhood!

Came here for drinks the night and was pleasantly surprised. The restaurant/bar is huge with a nice long bar. Saturday was pretty empty for some reason but I had no complaints about that. Great place to grab a drink or have a party, or even a first date. Will definitely be back.

*** Friendly staff, Standard drinks, Great atmosphere *** Came here for a work event. It was a convenient location and the staff was very friendly. The cocktail drinks were standard. In my opinion I think the food here is the highlight of this place. I would definitely come back here to see what the vibe is on a Friday night.

Nice place. Should work for a younger crowd. Big long marble bar on the right. Several high tops along the opposite wall. Background music is loud high energy pop. A few flat screens above the bar. Place is a little dark. Good overall atmosphere. Light fixtures add to the décor. Restaurant seating in the back. Bartender this afternoon was professional and mixed a solid martini for $ 12. Worth a try.
