Excellent food and good ambiance. Definitively a place to try. I had chicken and lamb skewers dinner with squash side dish and it was perfect.

Visited Kashkaval Garden for a late nibble on a Friday evening. They have a cute and intimate atmosphere. The place has a bar and a few tables: perfect for small groups or dates. Their wine menu is varied, just enough for many tastes but not overwhelming. The prices are very reasonable. I ordered the Classic Fondue, which my group and I thoroughly enjoyed. The mixture of cheeses had a nutty hint and was the perfect amount of savory. I would recommend Kashkaval Garden and would visit again.

It’s a good place to meet up with friends and share some tapas! Please note: By tapas, they are really just different types of hummus and dips for pita bread. They are delicious. The drinks are good. I wasn’t impressed with the entrees or kebabs. The service was very good! Our waiter was so friendly and polite. I really like the seats by the window. It was a lovely experience overall!

Great spot and great food! They don’t take reservations and it usually gets packed. Expect a wait during peak times but the food is definitely worth it! Not loud so you can have a convo. Intimate and good for a date or a friendly catchup. Staff is attentive and friendly.

Came here on Memorial Day without knowing much about it and. I was initially confused with this restaurant because the place is a mix of everything. Between the name, tapas, fondue and skewers, I wasn’t sure what to order so I asked the waiter but he was quite condescending and really not willing to answer questions. The entire table was upset actually. We were about to leave but we were too hungry. The food overall was good. I liked the spicy chicken skewer. I tried a few other skewers and hummus as well and it was good though I have the idea plain hummus can never be bad or great. So for the food I’d give 3.5 stars and for the service 2.5. For any reference, we were at the back room and the waiter was a 6 ft tall guy.

I blacked out and the next thing I knew I was ordering the grilled halloumi cheese sticks, spreads, and skewers. If it weren’t for the sheer feeling of stomach exploding from stuffing my face I wouldn’t have fully woke up. Alright, exaggerations aside, their food is quite delicious and the drinks are equally as pleasing. Grilled cheese sticks were ordered based on reviewers but it did not raise my «must recommend» flag at all so try if you’re curious(like I was) then order. Tie for the best spread: beets skordalia and walnut pepper; both so yummy I cannot choose a winner As for skewers, get the octopus and kofte. Drinks wise, you can’t go wrong so just pick randomly and you’re all set!

Sunday brunch at Kashkaval was pretty solid! Very hearty food that leaves you feeling full and refreshed :) We had the Turkish Scramble and the Salmon Skewer — the former was really yummy, but the salmon was slightly over cooked and under seasoned. It also wasn’t served on a skewer so I’m not sure why it was named so… I would come back!

Kashkaval has some very good tapas to go with their whole wheat pita. My favorite was the beet skordalia(beet, potato, almond, and garlic mixed into a purée). I also liked the asparagus hummus and the tzatiki which included tiny cubes of cucumber that made it extra refreshing. I was hoping to be wowed by the babaganoush, but found it to actually be a bit too bitter for me. The filet mignon and octopus skewers were really good. I would skip the chicken Adana and turkey meatball next time(too dry). Service was great and the place is charming.

This place was AMAZING! Loved it! They have a flat price for a certain number of dishes and it makes the most fiscal sense to stick with ordering in that quantity. Make sure to get the Grilled Halloumi Cheese Sticks, although better to share, they were quite filling but so interesting and good. I was excited to see Beet Skordalia(I loooove beets!) which seemed like a hummus type dish when eating it, except it’s not hummus. All the«Tapas» are cold and you dip in the pita bread. We also tried some skewers, so the amount of food was plenty. It would have been fun with a larger group so that we could try more. It’s definitely worth getting the larger size option for the wine. Much better deal. I’d just recommend that you sample a couple before buying the large size to make sure it’s to your liking. If I lived in the area, this would definitely be one of my go-to spots!

Aww this place has earned a nice place in my heart, and also my NYC line up. Came here on a Friday night for a night cap, and had the smoked strawberry cocktail. It was perfect! Sweet, smokey, and slightly spicy. I ended up having 2. My friend had champs and it was fair. We both like it so much we came back the next day for Brunch. We had the sampler platter and the server suggested we try the nut spread with black pepper! What a great choice, this may be my new favorite dip. I also really apreciate they were able to give me sliced cucumbers instead of pita to help keep my carbs down. With brunch I ordered the peach bellani and it was REALLY good. I would suggest any of thier breakfast cocktails, they seem to do it right.

The Kale Salad with dried figs, walnuts and pecorino was AMAZING! It was such a great size — it wasn’t a tiny side salad, and the salad was delicious! Definitely recommended! The skewers, on the other hand, left much to be desired. We got the Chicken Adana and the Filet Mignon skewers, and both were a shade below average. I’ll admit, we should have read the description more carefully for the chicken adana skewer, because at second glance, it does say GROUND chicken, which is not what I had in mind when I ordered a chicken skewer. And the filet mignon skewer was on the dry side, not really worth the price of the skewer… All in all, I’d come back just for the kale salad…

Because I have to give one star to give this review. Food is good if you don’t mind a claustrophobic environment. If you really want to be annoyed try to call this half assed operation for delivery. They will tell you to try, seamless. Then when you go to seamless the menu isn’t the same. Then you call back and they say ahhh??? Maybe try caviar website? Moral of the story is go there if it’s not crowded for a decent kabob, but by no means ever try to call and reason with the staff. They are probably very nice actresses but a very confused operating. In fact I wouldn’t let the staff answer the phone. Just bus and deliver.

Cute atmosphere, not what it appears when looking in from outside. We got an assortment of tapas style hummus/baba ganoush dips as well as some skewers. I felt satisfied after but didn’t feel weighed down by a heavy meal. Service was great, very friendly staff. They don’t take reservations and looks like you may have to wait on occasion. Looks like they have a nice backyard when it gets warm. Its definitely one of the best restaurants in that stretch.

Been here a few times and each time it gets a little better, mainly because of understanding what and how much to order. Go with the kebabs and get a variety as well as a mezze plate. Hard to go wrong considering how much food you’ll get and the various combinations. Great for groups– not so much solo or for a couple in my opinion.

(First timer) my bf and I were lucky enough to be seated right away when we got there on a busy Saturday night. The highlights: everything we had tasted amazing. You get filled easily(big eaters would be concerned about the fact that there’s no actual meal option but you will get full). The place is much bigger than I initially thought(since it’s one of those narrow but long floor plans). Staff was friendly but slow. Also, I was told they don’t take reservations unless it’s a party of 6 or more(I smell bs there lol) I would come again!

Friendly staff, happy customers, attractive décor. Delicious dishes, especially salmon grilled in grape leaves with kale salad; plenty of vegetarian options. Noise level requires loud talking; neighboring tables will know all your business; possibly OK for bromance, but not for romance. Sound abatement materials should be installed on ceiling and walls. The buzz from a kitchen exhaust fan projects 25 feet into the dining area — annoying for a diner, but abusive for employees who swim in that din 8 hours at a time. OSHA, come hither.

I gotta review this place cause it’s kinda the best. I’ve been sitting at the chefs table for an hour and having the best time. I ordered a half carafe of wine for 20 bucks and a tapas platter for $ 15. They give you four tapas for $ 15 and they are plentiful portions! I couldn’t even finish. The labneh is to die for and the tsaziki is good too. Next time I will try the cheese plate. Their Greek white wine is on point. This is definitely the place to come for a date either romantically or with a friend. You may have to wait for a table but the bar seems to have a good turnaround. I will definitely be back.

They offer things here that you don’t typically find at other mediterranean restaurants, such as grilled Halloumi cheese(with an awesome, zesty harissa sauce) and fondue. I’ve been here twice and both times, you feel welcome by the warm, friendly staff. Both times, I had to wait for my table, 10 minutes and 35 minutes. The place has gotten much more popular. The waitstaff don’t have time to be overly attentive so you get left alone a lot. The star is really the food. Lots of fantastic vegetarian tapas. Recommended: Beet Skordalia(cold beets with creamy potato, surprising how much I enjoyed it), Butternut Squash Tapenade with cumin, Stuffed Papadews with feta, walnut pepper spread with roasted red peppers. I purposely veered away from more traditional fare and I’m glad I did. It’s nice to be surprised by things you haven’t experienced before. It’s impossible to be jaded here.

I came here on a very cold day. I had a plate of tapas, served chilled with warm pita bread. It’s definitely not the warmest meal on a freezing day. I chose five items: Babaganoush: eggplant, tahini, garlic. Beet skordalia: beets, potato, garlic. This was a great discovery. The mix of beets and potato was sweet and creamy. So delicious, it’s my new favorite. I’m going to try to make this at home. Cauliflower: roasted with smoked paprika. The cauliflower were slightly spicy, crunchy. Hummus: chick peas, tahini, garlic. Olive tapenade: kalamata olives, olive oil. The tapenade was the most salty of all the spreads. I also wanted the Butternut squash & tahini tapenade but they were out of it, so I saved some bucks by ordering five tapas instead of six. :D There was a good balance in all the items, from sweet to salty, creamy spreads and crunchy cauliflower. It was a large plate of spreads and vegetables and it was filling. They gave me 2 chocolate chip cookies to go. The cookies were chewy, just the way I like them to be.

Vibe: Cozy & candlelit(for dinner), fairly small with tables very close together Was looking for a place to have a reasonably priced dinner, and this totally fit the bill. All 3 of us wanted to come back to try new things! Came for dinner on a weeknight and there was a 30 minute wait — but the host was super welcoming and accommodating. He was attentive, kept us updated, and helped us find seats at the bar when they were available, while we waited for our table. ** If you have a party of 6 or more, you can make reservations! We tried the tapas and the skewers. There was plenty of food — portions were really generous. Everything was made well and very flavorful! Really enjoyed the hummus and babaganoush, as well as the lamb kebab. Only missed the mark because the restaurant was super loud when we went, which made it less enjoyable and hard to talk, not sure what it’s like on other nights. Moreover, the wait staff was friendly, but not very attentive. What I want to try next: the wine list(super extensive) and also the fondue(looked fantastic)

Arrived around 12:30 for brunch. Staff is very friendly. It wasn’t too crowded, but it is a very small place– maybe 10 – 13 tables. The rest of the seating is at the bar. It’s not so bad because they have full backed chairs. Very chill atmosphere, didn’t notice any music in particular. I was waiting on a friend so I sat at the bar and started with a spicy Bloody Mary. I noticed the amount of vodka the bartender poured was about 1⁄8 the size of the glass but I didn’t mind as I wasn’t looking to get smashed. But it’s always nice to get a more generous pour. He also left about an inch of space from the rim of the top so he should have poured more for $ 12. It tasted just like tomato juice and Tabasco. The brunch: I ordered four tapas: hummus, artichoke, cauliflower, and a sautéed kale. I am gluten free so it was nice that they had the option of rice crackers instead of pita. My friend ordered the artichoke casserole with a chicken skewer. My food came out about 10 minutes before hers and I can’t really understand this considering everything on my plate was ice cold. Hers finally came out with potatoes, a spinach salad and a couple tomatoes. The chicken skewers were pretty tasty, everything else to be honest lacked flavor and luster. Unfortunately, halfway through the meal they made us move down the bar to clear more seats so it really broke the experience up further. I refilled our waters since it didn’t seem like anyone else would.

In my pursuit of finding a new brunch place to add to my list, I ended up at Kashkaval. I sat at the bar with my boyfriend and the food and drinks here are A.MAZ.ING. Seriously do yourself a favor and come here. I trekked all the way from Dumbo and I’m so glad I did. We ordered: GOODMORNINGPOUTINE, SHAKSHUKA, GRILLEDSAUSAGESKEWERS(beware: these babies are spicy but so delicious), and ROASTEDARTICHOKETAPAS. Will absolutely be back for brunch and hopefully to try dinner soon :)

Have come here a couple times now for healthy-ish food in a welcoming setting. My most recent trip brought us in for lunch on an empty New Years Day. Got one Tapas Lunch Special($ 13): hummus, babaganoush, quinoa, and roasted artichoke with cookies to go at the end. Also got the three cheese sampler($ 14): kashkaval, pierre robert, and idiazabal. Tremendous value and served with an assortment of bread. The cheese variety was nice and presented with grapes to clear the palate. The tapas were made well, with the roasted artichoke being my favorite as it was crisped to balance out the texture of the other items. Overall, a great deal of food that we had to take home with us. Considering the size, you can expect crowds for dinner, so an early lunch is the perfect time to go.

I’ve been here twice, and I hope to come back dozens more times. Definitely some of the best Mediterranean tapas I’ve ever had.(And some of the best hummus out there, too!) Like others have said, it’s somewhat small, but that adds to the charm. I’ve never had to wait long for a table, and it looks like they’ll be opening a back patio once it gets warmer. I’ve never had their mains, but I can definitely stand behind their tapas selection as well as their cheese and meat boards. Really important to note: they are NOT stingy with the pita. When you order tapas, you have more than enough bread to go around, and the same is true with their cracker selection for the cheese/meat boards. Would definitely recommend for a light lunch or happy hour.

Kashkaval is seriously elbow to elbow, but it’s totally worth it! This Mediterranean joint has tons of options at reasonable prices and a good wine list to boot(including always great choices for the house wine). My favorite thing to do here is pig out on a mountain of mezzes(tapas) that come with fresh, warm, homemade(at least I think homemade) pita. The hummus here is the bomb, as can be expected. I also love the babaganoush, cauliflower, brussels sprouts, and kale with beans. I highly recommend this pre-theater because it’s quick and totally filling. For those looking for a bigger meal, the skewers here are excellent.

Great date place, dim lighting, and good atmosphere. Cute bar and great wine on tap! I love their Garden Gimlet, it is a yummy drink even though I’m not quite fond of gin. As for food, I’d give it a 8/10, only because my tolerance for spicy food isn’t that great. MUSTGETTHEIRSKEWERS– especially the octopus and shrimp-yum! And if you eat lamb, get that because I heard it’s amazing!

This is, by far, my favorite Mediterranean restaurants in NYC. It’s fairly small, but its very wam and inviting with candles everywhere. I think it is a really good spot for a date. So far, everything I have tried from this restaurant has exceeded my expectations. Their tapas are absolutely to die for! My favorite is the walnut spread and the spinach spread. All of their tapas are delicious though! The one thing I would go to Kashkaval Garden is for its fondue. Particularly, the cheddar apple cider one. That combination of flavor is extraordinary and every bite is like a piece of heaven(on bread). Everytime I try something new here, it amazes me beyond belief. I will keep going back!

Excellent food! The spinach tapenade, artichoke spread, quinoa, and baba were great on the tapas side. We got goat cheese, and the spanish idiazabal… both very good. The chorizo was okay. The skewers we tried were the Kofta(lamb) and chicken(we were steered towards the regular chicken versus the adana. They were both very tasty… very simple. The mushroom bulghur that is served with the skewers has minimal flavor, and the squash caponata is good. The sauces servers with the skewers are delicious. The only disappointing thing of the night was the old fashioned. It came as stated — apricot — but the flavor was very weak and tasted very watered down. I cannot ding the review for the drink, since the other drink we ordered was fantastic, that being the rosemary-ginger margarita. Definitely will be back here… the prices are great for the quantity and quality of the food.

Come here for happy hour, stay and eat some snacks that will fill you right up! I enjoyed a drink and several choice tapas from the menu. We got the butternut squash which is a creamy dip, babaganoush, dolmas, and a kale pinaz that was refreshing. We also indulged in a cheese platter with grafton valley Vermont Leyden, a buttery cheese, prosciutto, and the kashkaval, a nice slightly tart Sheep cheese. The cheese platter comes with different breads but the best one is the biscotti like cranberry studded cracker that is slightly sweet and counterbalances the cheese perfectly. This restaurant is so good that just standing outside of it gets rave reviews by random strangers.

This place is amazing. I have been here numerous times with friends and on dates with my boyfriend for dinner as well as happy hour and have loved it every time. This place is great in that its wine list is as good as its food. And their happy hour wine for $ 6 a glass is a really awesome deal(and the wine they offer for happy hour is as good as the regular priced offerings). And the food is truly mediterranean comfort food. I have tried almost all the meat skewers as well as a few different meat and cheese combos as well as tapas(so basically bits from the entire menu). And everything really is delicious. I know my review is probably a bit overboard as I am saying OMG so good to everything but it is. The walnut pepper spread and cauliflower tapas is probably my favorite from that portion of menu, I could inhale the sujuk from the meat and cheese plate, and the octopus, the plain chicken skewer and the steak one also have my heart as well. In other words I could pretty much be happy eating everything here. And the wait staff is really relaxed and gets your food out quickly but they actually let you eat in peace. It is a nice change of pace from many other NY spots where they are moving so quickly to turn the table over to the next guest. Will I be back? Is my name Rebecca :).

Reservations are not taken and all parties need to be there before you are seated. Do expect to share a table also. Wasn’t initially impressed as we were 3 awaiting the 4th persons. My parents had been on a plane for 12hrs and we wanted to order right away and start eating, while my partner would come later the hostess refused to accommodate us and made u wait at a counter. I managed to speak with Hillary the manager and explained again our situation. She was amazing and sorted us out right away. We got our food and a table! The food was the usual tapas, shame that all the ‘mains’ are minced into kebab/meat on a stick. Wish they had a fish option as well. Despite that, our server Jeremy was friendly & helpful and the food tasty. Thanks again to Hillary for recovering the situation and bring understanding.

We ordered a four tapas selection(sprouts, spinach tapenade, labneh and tzatziki), three kebabs(filet mignon, chicken, lamb kofta) and lamb and pomegranate flatbread, between two. It was more than enough food and everything was super fresh and flavourful and tasty. Probably too much food for two people, only regret was the filet mignon which was quite fatty in places and not as nice as the other two. Cocktails were also really tasty(garden gimlet and apricot old fashioned). Between the amazing food, wonderful cosy atmosphere and friendly service we will definitely be back.

Happy hours until 7PM on Saturdays! Already a huge fan. :) We were in the area looking for dinner at a reasonably priced restaurant, and Kashkaval fit the bill! The restaurant was crowded and almost at full capacity when we arrived around 6:45PM, but we were kindly offered seats at the chef’s bar, which we agreed to. At first, I was super excited because I thought I’d be able to watch the chefs cook, but sadly the glass is frosted so all you can see are shadows on the other side of the window. However, there is much more counter space than at the actual bar, so it worked out for us. The restaurant is long and narrow(and also quite dark), but I think they do a good job of making the most out of the limited real estate. If you can get a seat at the front of the restaurant on a nice day when they have the windows open, you should do it! I ordered the garden poutine(which comes with pork belly!!) and my friends split 6 types of tapas. The tapas are definitely a great way to try different things on the menu at a lower cost(6 tapas for $ 21) — most of the items were some sort of dip that could be enjoyed with the(unlimited?) pita that came with their meal. The poutine was SUPER cheesy and really greasy, but also really delicious. I’d never had poutine anywhere else before, but if they are all as good as the one at Kashkaval, I guess I should be glad that I didn’t get addicted sooner! I also probably should have shared it. instead of trying to finish it all on my own… The pork belly was definitely a nice touch, and I thought it made for a nice addition, especially since the dish is pretty much made up of a total of three ingredients…

I had the tapas sampler lunch special and got the spinach+feta, hummus, stuffed grape leaves and tzatziki. Everything was tasty yet heavy on flavor, the spinach was super garlicky and the tzatziki had a LOT of dill. Pita was nice and warm and came in a pretty big portion. I think the lunch specials are definitely a good deal. They are supposed to come with a to-go dessert(chocolate chip cookies) but I didn’t get mine. It’s ok because I was very stuffed by the end of my meal. Coffee is decent. Service is ok, I thought it was funny when I was done with all the mezze and there were 4 small pieces of pita left and the waiter asked if I wanted them to go. I am cheap but not that cheap: D
