Kat’s Hair Lounge was my first stop after wearing my hair in braids for two years and did not know what to do with my hair. A few things I knew, 1– I was tired of braids, it was breaking my hair and pulling my hair from the front of my head, and 2– I REALLY did not want to put another relaxer in my hair again, since I burn so severely. After my consultation with Kat, we discussed options, and she listened to my concerns, and made a few suggestions. I decided to go with the formaldehyde free Keratin treatment, and I’ve been happy ever since. That was almost 2 years ago, and I do not regret the decision. Kat is like a Hair doctor. She knows the issues that each of her clients face, and offers customized solutions for each individual. She has brought my hair back to life, and I can say that I enjoy it again. I normally see Kat every 1 to 2 weeks, and I feel like every time I leave her shop that I feel like a movie star. My hair is vibrant, bouncy, has body, and looks amazing. With Kat’s recommendations, I’ve learned how to maintain my natural hair– relaxer free. I ONLY trust my hair to Kat, she truly knows how to treat and restore my hair. Thanks Kat!

I’ve been going to Kat for almost a year. When I went to her, my hair was in dire need of repair! Kat has been nursing my hair back to health ever since. She truly cares about the health of my hair and has worked with me at every stage. She works with relaxed and natural hair. Even better, she cut, colors and styles both hair types. She also works quickly — there is nothing better than walking out of the salon and still being able to enjoy your Saturday. At my old salon, I went in first thing in the morning and was still sitting their several hours later! This doesn’t happen at Kat’s — so I’m a very satisfied customer.

I went here for golden brown highlights on natural hair. I’d emailed Kat a picture, came in for a consultation, and scheduled an appt. My appt was for 6:30. The stylist didn’t touch my hair until 7:45. It was just one of her, and she had 4 women in her salon at the same time! I guess she only had one cape, bc I sat under the dryer without one, and the dye dripped down onto my shirt, of course ruining it. It also got into my eye, which burned like crazy. After rinsing it out, she goes«idk what happened, but your hair is red». She made my hair bright red! She said she mixed a copper brown bc she thought the picture showed copper highlights(but it clearly was golden brown, or blondish brown, anything but red). After I showed her the pic again, she apologized. Then she tried to tone it down, which failed, and then she dyed my hair dark brown on top of the red, bc I wasn’t walking out with bright red(i’m not exaggerating) hair. The service was supposed to cost 100, but she charged me 50 for materials and«dryer time». What does dryer time mean? I’ve never heard a stylist charge me for letting my hair dry. I didn’t even let her style my hair, she just put some Jane Carter products and I left. At 11:30. Yes, my appointment lasted for 5 hours. The worst hair experience I’ve ever had. Don’t go there, or at least, don’t get color.
