This is my lunch spot in the neighborhood 1. because its 3 blocks from work 2. it isn’t a rip off like all the other places(Turkey sandwich runs me $ 5/$ 6 and change instead of $ 7 and change which does make a difference to me). Little tables to sit and eat. The only thing I was surprised at the price of was the brownies which are $ 3 a piece! The fruit and the salads are well priced. They have MANY options… between soup, salad, sushi, hot options… and it isn’t as expensive at «gigi» or Toasties. I needed a place in the neighborhood to use as a «cafeteria» since there is nowhere at work for me to eat, and I’ve made LA Gourmet my home! BUT, if I was not working over here, and looking for a cheap lunch… would I go here? Probably not. But for midtown east around 59th, this is 100% the best option.

Well, where do i start. Place in convenient to my place of work. I began eating breakfast and lunch. Brisket and chicken were good until the brisket was served fatty. i ventured and tried chicken salad. found a piece of a finger nail, which they described as a chicken bone… I am still not sure. never ordered it again. The breakfas sandwiches are good. typical bacon, egg and cheese spot… Seems the place is just to make money. No care about the quality of food.Unfortunate.Good location

Hmmm, $ 9 something on breakfast… ok. Then, after sitting down to eat, I get back up to ask for a jelly packet and the lady at the register has the nerve to charge me 25 cents for a little jelly container?! What next, are they going to charge for ketchup packets?! Fuck that, keep your damn jelly. I’m done with this place.

Ordered lunch on seamless… Italian Panini and house salad, soggy chips… Not good at all., delivery was pretty quick but food quality was not good.

This is usually my go-to spot for lunch since my office is right next to it, and I tend to come here when I’m pressed for time at work(to clarify, I come here often out of convenience, not because I love this place) The food… is really not impressive, but it does the job of keeping me full for lunch. I mean, you can’t really write a proper review for a place that serves very average/standard food. A lot of white/blue collar workers come here to get lunch, and are not usually too concerned about the taste, so I guess it’s okay for the cooks here to neglect the quality of food. Sandwiches are pretty much on par with standard Manhattan prices(~$ 7-$ 8). Breakfast options are there too, and they even have udon/soba, which I tried before and liked! All in all — it’s not a bad place to check out if a) you work nearby and b) you need to take lunch back at the office because you’re too busy to take a full lunch

The hot bar and sandwiches are really just ok. The salad bar is really the best value around and pretty high quality. The sushi and udon game is really what’s on point — definitely a weekly go to for me. I can always find something to eat here.

Ok, so this place is neither LA nor Gourmet, but nonetheless, it’s a pretty solid spot for hearty breakfast items like eggs, cheese, bacon, sausage, french toast, toasted muffins, etc. Don’t expect any ‘healthy’ or ‘organic’ things here and the lunch items don’t look that great, and it’s really more of a takeout spot for both white and blue collar workers in the area. But for breakfast items, this is one of the best casual spots in the neighborhood, along with Sunberry & Fresh & Co. nearby.

I really want to like this place since the owner is so nice however it really needs to improve in order to be good. First, the woman that does the register every morning is SO rude to the staff. She is always yelling at them and humiliating them. It very uncomfortable to watch. Second, me and MANY of my co-workers go there often have seen some sever hygiene issues there. I have seen them wipe sweat off their face with the gloves on their hand and proceed to make sandwiches without changing their gloves. Additionally, their pricing is beyond inconsistent. I can order the same thing every day and the price is soo different.

THISPLACEISAWFUL. I waited an hour for a bacon egg and cheese only for it to be cold along with my coffee& after being back and fourth with them(they took the wrong information) having being told to go outside and pick it up myself while at work. When I called to have it refunded the lady who took my call refused to refund my whole order. I’m currently waiting for them to send someone back to pick up my order & was told I needed to wait until 3pm(Food Received at 1230) & Honestly not even expecting them to call me back since she already had forgotten to TWICE! Quite frankly the service is terrible the people are disrespectful and RUDE I will never order here again given this was my first there are plenty of other delis in the area I suggest you do the same if you want to save yourself a headache!

It is what it is. I have been to have 5 other places to get a breakfast sandwich and this place has always been my favorite. The staff is always nice. I also come for lunch every now and then and its always been good.

Even though the guy who makes sushi has yelled at me and they’ve over charged me a few times I love this place because they make great food. It makes me sad to say they crossed the line today and I probably won’t be able to go back. The guy behind the counter was putting raw bacon on the grill when I ordered. As he started to fill my order he did not remove the gloves he was wearing but rather grabbed the cooked brisket and began to cut it. Maybe I’m just a weirdo who doesn’t want food born illness from raw meat, maybe this happens all the time and I just never see it. Either way it completely grossed me out and I told him so and left.

No complaints… it pretty much is what it is. Standard prices for Midtown East… standard selection for a deli/café. Food hasn’t disappointed much.(Only complaint was, when ordering online, I didn’t have an option for a roll/bun for my fish filet sandwich… and the bread it came on was very weak & mushy) Delivery is fairly quick… going in, staff is pretty friendly. A solid 3-star joint.

I’ve been getting lunch from LA Gourmet for years. The people are really nice and always remember you. I usually get the beef soba from the sushi section on the side. The soba noodles are good. The veggies are always fresh. It never disappoints. Definitely one of my favorite lunch spots.

I am a regular at La Gourmet for my breakfast fixes given their quality food and efficient service. They also have surprisingly good quality sashimi.

Stay away — not clean. Staff wear gloves but touches rags to wipe down counters and then touches food. I saw them touch their face, then the balled up rag on the counter and then grab my bagel from toaster — UGH!!! Food is nothing special & overpriced.

I’ve tried a few items here(salads, hot foods) and it seems fine. A fairly standard Midtown deli lunch spot(in regards to price, quality, and selection). I really enjoyed a plate of their steamed veggies and fish fillet.

I go to LA Gourmet regularly and their deli counter is great. They use Boar’s Head cold cuts and their sandwiches are the closest thing to a real sandwich. I like their quality and they put the sandwich together nicely as well. I haven’t tried their other items so can’t comment on that but I will vouch for the deli counter.

Came in to pick up a pre-packaged Asian Chicken Salad which itself looked really good for a fair price but when it was time to check out the salad dressing situation was a bit of a disaster. I asked what kind of salad dressing they have and the cashier responded with«all kinds». I like that they have variety but they couldn’t even tell me what kind of salad dressing would go well with the salad I was about to buy. The cashier dropped a box full of unlabeled salad dressing on the counter and said«pick one». If they don’t know which salad dressing is which, how am I supposed to choose one? I walked out and left the salad on the counter.

The La Gourmet Deli deserves a proper update. I went in today to pick up lunch and at the hot foods section the guy dropped an open(without cap) Sharpie into the marinara meatball sauce. He picked up the pen with his fingers, wiped it off with his towel and proceeded to serve the sauce to the next customer. Health code violation? It’s a good thing Sharpies are nontoxic. But what about all those germs? I’m just saying. They shoulda tossed the sauce. Especially since people saw what happened. To end on a positive note– I’ll still buy my lunch from them. Just nothing that has marinara sauce on it.
