We stopped here for lunch last Friday. Wow I ordered a pizza and my daughter ordered pasta. It was fantastic. Service was just great and the side walk dining was perfect. One of the best pizzas I’ve had in the City. Also the price was great.

If all they served was dessert, they’d be 5 stars. Unfortunately, the veal was a bit tough and the salad was terrible.(Salad shouldn’t be a hard thing to make) The waitstaff was very nice and accommadating. My suggestion, get a new chef!

We went during lunchtime and the prices were great especially for the a mouth of food you get. The staff did a great job staying on top of things, making sure we had water, bread, playing our food, etc. There were good clean bathrooms too! I got the lasagna and my boyfriend for chicken spaghetti(I think). Anyways it was so good we had to go back to Little Italy the next day!

This place rocks and we haven’t even eaten yet! We were greeted at the front entrance by an older gentleman named Giovanni. He was super friendly and pulled us right in all we really wanted was a glass of wine because we had just come from Chinatown and the atmosphere in Little Italy was so much better! We were afraid that they wouldn’t be OK with us taking an outside table just for a glass of wine but they were very gracious and let us sit at their beautifully tableclothed fancy table with a glass of wine. We then proceeded to have a wonderful discussion with Giovanni and several other gentleman from other adjoining restaurants who broke into Italian tunes and talked about Italian meals and had very heavy Italian accents and made the experience amazing! It was the best flavor of little Italy we could have gotten and we plan on coming back tomorrow to actually try the food!!! The gentlemen working there and in the adjoining restaurants were so friendly and fun that it’s already one of my fave places in NY without even trying the food!!!

From the moment we walked in the gentleman at the front door was rude. No hello! Welcome to la nonna. «Yeah how many?» Seriously? 7 I said. He looked at us. No I don’t have that. Me: ok you don’t have it now or you just don’t have it? How long is the wait? I mean can this guy be a bigger a$&@”?!? We just turned around and left. Do not waste your time or money here. PLEASE!!! Go to «Paisanos» right next door. We had an amazing time. Service was great and the food was amazing and cheaper.

I’ve eaten here a couple times and have to say it was amazing both times. The staff is on top of things, they have great deals and the food is delicious. So good I didn’t even stop to take a picture. Lasagna and the chicken parm were delicious.

Watch out, this restaurant will try to grift you by adding 20% gratuity on a table for 2! If you call them out, they’ll tell you to pay and get the fuck out! Worst service ever. Pity because the food is decent, but avoid the pizza(poor ingredients), stick to tomato pastas.

We stumbled upon this place by accident it is very nice inside and they still had lunch specials at 5pm everything under 15 $. The only downer was that service wasn’t friendly and the lights kept going bright and dim, hope they are working on the electrical. 4 stars is for the food but for our main waiter who never gave us his name among other things they lost a star. We started with bread then calamari, fresh! Very soft on the inside and crunchy out and tasty marinara sauce. My friends got veal Marsala and the Neapolitana pizza with no complaints. I ordered the sole francese it came with a side of spaghetti, fish was buttery and delicious. Portions are a great size everyone finished it all without left overs but we were not feeling any hunger! Didn’t try dessert we opted to go to china town for this.

Escaping from the ten degree weather outside with dove into LaNonna to warm up and have a nice dinner. A nice dinner it was indeed. The food was fantastic. From the freshly made bread to the check, service and food was exceptional. We had fried calamari to start. I have never had such huge calamari… fresh, warm, and with a wonderful tomato sauce. For dinner we had bolognese spaghetti, Parmesan chicken, and lasagna. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meal as evident by empty plates. If you are in Little Italy, I would definitely recommend stopping by this charming restaurant and enjoy!

This place is a tourist trap. And that would be ok… if they gave you the experience that you are paying for. But they are simply out to make as much money off you as quickly as possible and get the next unsuspecting person who would like a nice meal in the door. The food was ok. The chicken was tasty but the veggies were clearly frozen. Our waiter was extremely inattentive and forgot almost everything that we asked for(we had to remind him 2 – 3 times what our drinks were… I’d get it if he was busy, but he just stood at the bar talking with his coworkers our whole meal). The icing on the cake was that the waiter delivered the check with his tip already filled out(see pics)! I typically tip much higher than the«suggested gratuity» because I spent many years as a waiter, but I would never in a million years expect to see this type of audacity. We were ignored, served mediocre food, and then told how much to tip. Please do yourself a favor and skip La Nonna. There are much better places to go in this neighborhood… and while most of them are tourist traps, they won’t literally try to steal from you as our waiter did to us.

We had a lovely meal here. The food was really nice and wine list was a great selection but fairly pricey. The service wasn’t fantastic but they were very busy.

Worst Italian food ever. Total rip off. The service was beyond slow, it took them 30 min to even take one drink order which took 30 minutes to arrive. It took 40 for a coffee. They don’t know how to pour a beer. Insane. They didn’t bring over anything until we had to get up to remind them. Food orders were 20 minutes after the drinks, food took 45 min to arrive. When we finally got the food, it was underwhelming, Olive Garden is better, and I’m not a big fan of Olive Garden. I had veal with prosciutto and mashed potatoes and greens with a boiled egg on top. The veggies were mushy, the mashed potatoes tasted sour, the boiled egg, which i expected to be fried, was overcooked, and looked closer to vomit green rather than egg yolk yellow. For the actual veal, I barely had an ounce of protein. The meat was over salted as the prosciutto had more than enough salt Right now I’m still waiting for the check it’s been 25 minutes plates haven’t been cleared nor have they asked how anything was or if we needed anything else. I’m not a NYC native, but totally disgusting would never eat here again. Wish I had seen Unilocal before coming here.

Very good italian food. Not the best I’ve ever had, however, still very good. I would return. You might not always find good resteraunts in touristy areas so this is a safe bet. I had spaghetti & meatballs with a side of sautéed spinich. My wife had veal saltimbocca, and we ordered a $ 50 bottle of wine. Our bill came to $ 100 before tip.

I ordered the chicken parm with alfredo sauce and it was pretty darn tasty! The chicken was prepared perfectly. I’ve had better Alfredo sauce but it was decent. The pasta is freshly made. This is a plus for people that love fresh pasta. It was my friends birthday and she ordered the lasagna and wasn’t very pleased with her meal. It didn’t have enough cheese for her. In fact it didn’t have any ricotta cheese. She did say that the meat sauce was really good. The next time I’m in Little Italy I will try another place. There are a TON of options. But this place was decent and the prices were reasonable. Oh, they also gave us a free glass of wine, it wasn’t that good, but it was free. I’m sure that’s was just a ploy to get us to try their food! Don’t fall for the gimmicks :-) But do try the Chicken Parm!!!

A very nice authentic restraint nestled in the heart of Little Italy. The pasta dishes were amazing and reasonably priced. I loved the linguini with white clam sauce ! The wait staff was friendly and fast and I will definitely be dining here again on my next visit to NYC! A nice place for a romantic dinner!

A few of us stopped at La Nonna for a late lunch during a weekday. We got seated immediately and ordered a few pasta dishes from the menu. My choice was Gnocchi with tomato sauce. Since we said we were in a hurry, they served the dishes immediately. I was very disappointed with the Gnocchi, both with the Gnocchi itself which seemed to be frozen, ready made, rather than home made. And the sauce was a disaster, seemed like they had beaten up some tomatoes, added salt and poured it on the Gnocchi. Don’t recommend this restaurant when there are other nicer places to dine in NYC.

I love this place, though nostalgia probably plays a role in it. :) My husband and I had our first dinner together here years ago. Every time we come to NYC, we come here for dinner our first night in the city. Adorable little place with attentive, kind servers. Great wine list. The filet mignon meatballs are amazing and worth a stop on their own. We came this time with our 3 year old, and the servers were so sweet and attentive to her. We call this place our italian comfort food stop. Its not gourmet, but its genuine and good. I recommend coming on a nice evening, sitting outside or by the window with a bottle of wine and some pasta, and enjoy watching the passerby on Mulberry street.

So after almost 8 years frequenting NYC I finally made it to Little Italy, thanks to my wife as she dragged my ass out to LI. After going around for a while, women being women I was dragged in a Hand Bags/Purses store, I believe its the only one in that part. And I was a always confused where to eat and it stuck me «Where the locals eat» so I got talking to the store owner and she pointed me to La Nonna. Let me begin by saying I was glad I listened. This area being Little Italy aka tourist infestation every single place is overly priced, not these guys though they are cheap well comparatively and tastes good. We got the Fried Mozzarella and the Marinara WASTHEBEST i ever had, so much so that I literally drank it by the bowl full. We than had the Clams Pasta and pancetta pasta its was Good. Don’t forget the RED Marinara

Oh how it pains me to give this place 2 stars. But it must be done. It has so much potential. Just rise up, La Nonna. If you like plastic lawn chairs and eating appetizer, dinner and dessert in 30 minutes, La Nonna is the place for you. Vinegary wine? Definitely for you. Undercooked pizza. Please. You’ve got to stop at La Nonna. Don’t forget to stop at the restrooms with toilet paper strewed all over the floor. Adds a nice touch. Also, if you like cardboard, order the calamari. Absolutely tasteless(that goes for the sauce too). Pluses: Portion sizes are good. Servers bring out bread, but you have to remind them to bring the oil. Servers are very nice, but this whole Mulberry strip has sunked to the low of begging people on the street to eat at an establishment. It’s really sad. All in all, I wasn’t impressed with any part of my meal, and it cost me half a Benny F. So sad. Not recommended given that there are 10 other Italian restaurants on this street(not an exaggeration).

We had a really good meal here. Starting wi the motzrella carozza(fried in breadcrumbs) then we had a spaghetti carbonara and I went for the veal Marsala. The veal was perfect and the sauce was excellent. With a couple of Italian beers this was finished off with an espresso and some excellent company with another guest who also loved his food. Service was excellent too.
