La Toulousaine has great pastries and sandwiches. I order from here or stop a couple times a week. I find delivery pretty fast, and while they have messed up the order slightly a few times, it’s never been terrible. If they run out of a certain pastry(understandable as they make everything day of, and then when it’s out, it’s out) they call and let me know. The croissants are amazing, the baguettes just ok. The owner is a bit grumpy but nothing terrible… All in all, the neighborhood would be a lot worse off without them.

Egg with Croissant is so yummy here! Very satisfied brunch. But dessert is just okay.

The manager Gladys inspired this rating, which reflects her argumentative and indifferent attitude. When the owners are never there, certain managers destroy otherwise decent businesses with their unprofessionalism. I would give the raspberry croissant 4 stars. The burnt potatoes I received, 2 stars,. The tuna sandwich sucked. They use an oily, fishy tuna, but they make it worse, by adding more oil. I wanted to return my sandwich for a credit and the manager did not have enough brain cells to understand how to accommodate that request. Delivery took very long.

A much needed French patisserie in the Upper West Side. Following my fellow Unilocalers advice, I ordered an almond croissant. Although there were some in the case behind the counter, the young man helping me gave me a fresh one from the pan the rack. You don’t see that kinda service anymore! It’s always nice to receive such quality treatment and a sure way to gain regular customers. The almond croissant was absolutely phenomenal. It was fresh, hot, crunchy and oh so gooey. Not to mention, the almond frangipane had the perfect amount of sweetness. Definitely took me back to my time in Paris. Don’t miss out on this place! The baked goods are great, service on point, and there’s always room to share these delectables with friends. The Upper West Side is the mecca of mediocrity. But not La Toulosaine.

Have never been to the actual location, but one of my favorite places to order in from on Seamless. There sides are small yet delicious(I’ve had the mushrooms, spinach, and tomatoes). Incredibly well seasoned and perfect if you’re in the mood for some healthy/yummy fresh veggies but don’t feel like food shopping/cooking. Also their chocolate raspberry moose cake is amazing and well sized. I’ve had some of their other pastries(raspberry croissant, chocolate muffin, challah bread) and everything has been great. I’ve found the service to be some of the most consistent on Seamless. They always deliver in a timely fashion(not immediate but that’s to be expected of Seamless), and I’ve received calls from them moments after ordering something that they were out, and wanted to know what I’d like instead.

Tried an almond croissant and an iced latte. The almond croissant was decent — crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Very flaky and not exactly easy to eat(but no croissants are easy to eat, haha). The outside surrounding flaky crust was oddly detached from the mushier sweet inside, which was not ideal for me. Presentation was a bit lacking — the croissant looked smushed. Latte was mediocre. When I was here, there was this terrible banging noise from the back that lasted for a good ten minutes, which was distracting. Service was alright. Food was cheap here, and I imagine this would be a good place to work(free wifi and outlets).

Simple Delicious Food! Jambon de Bayonne was surprisingly good! One minus is due to their delivery time. I waited an hour for my food. But I will likely to order again!

*I’ll update this review as I try different items here* Current total score: 2.5* Almond Croissant — 5⁄5. Just the right sweetness, crunch, filling, powdered sugar, and flavor! I’ve had way too many almond croissants with too much filling, overly crunchy/burnt, way too sweet, and covered with way too much powdered sugar(don’t ever inhale with powdered stuff on top of food). This one was one of two of the best almond croissants I’ve ever had(the other a place in the Inner Richmond in San Francisco). Beignet with Cream — 2⁄5. Actually, I’m not sure what this one is called but it looks like a sugar donut with pretty piped cream. The cream is practically tasteless to me and has sort of a fluffy butter-like texture(imagine just biting into a stick of room temp butter… ugh). The beignet portion is fine, but nothing special. I wouldn’t get this again. Vanilla Macaron — 1⁄5. Overwhelming taste of whipped cream, not in a good way. Only took one bite and had to toss it. Lemon Macaron — 2⁄5. A little better. Same whipped cream in there but not as disgusting tasting, for some odd reason. Maybe because the lemon flavor of the macaron actually helped tame the cream. A little too much like eating a dense lemon bar…

I ordered a chocolate croissant and iced chai latte. The croissant was pretty good, though not enough chocolate for my liking. The iced chai latte was awful though– I’d honestly never order it again. The pricing was decent, but the $ 10 credit card minimum was very annoying. Also, the cashier there was sort of rude. All in all, I probably wouldn’t return again nor recommend it to anyone.

I had a pain aux chocolate and a chocolate almond croissant(not on the same day) and I actually became happier through the process. What more can one ask for from food than to elevate you to another place entirely?

As a neighbor and someone who wants to LOVE this establishment, I am so disappointed. The baked goods are good, and worth stopping in for. However, their counter service is a mess. They rarely, if ever, take an order, fulfill it, and charge for it correctly. Coffee isn’t served correctly. And overall the service is dysfunctional. I offer the following suggestions to the owners/management and perhaps these can serve as a «heads up» to potential customers: a) Each worker needs to learn to complete a task before handing it off and/or moving on to the next task. Designate specific tasks to individuals so that there is not overlap and confusion. b) Hot foods should take priority and be delivered to customer immediately after they are heated, not allowed to sit and cool behind the counter. c) Coffee: the staff needs to learn how to steam milk without scalding it. And the management should either replace their to-go cups with smaller sizes, or instead recalibrate their servings. No one likes to be served a half-empty cup.

Great authentic pastries but the interior isn’t that great. The coffee smooth. I like it there but I would go more often if it had better interior.

Service almost rude, doling out a not-cheap, not-tasty, not-pretty(no, ugly), old(i.e, stale) chocolate éclair.

Very good. Very French. So French that the staff is distant and annoyed just like in France. It’s as close to being in France as the Upper West Side of New York can offer. If the place didn’t always seem to have a B or C Health Dept rating I’d give it 4 stars.

Go here. Just go here. Get the raspberry chocolate mousse cake. Get the buttered baguette(maybe not on the same trip). Sip on some coffee –and enjoy this little slice of french heaven on the upper west. ($ 10 min. on CC)

This place only deserves praise for it’s food plus availability of wifi and nothing else. Coffees are mediocre, hot coco is swiss miss from a packet, service is absolutely slow and often sad/rude. ALLCROISSANTS are DELICIOUS; every type whether chocolate, raspberry, or plain. I highly recommend the almond croissant or madelaines as they are the go to for me. Their almond croissant is event better than patisserie des ambassades. For chocolate lovers get the chocolate fondant cake! its only 2 $ but oh so moist and delicious. Things to note: CASH or 10 $ min. for credit. No Bathrooms.

The. Best. Hands. Down. In New York. These people work so hard and keep the business spotless and welcoming for all. You can stay and work with the free wifi with«for here» glasses and plates. They are so dedicated that you often see them late into the night cleaning and scrubbing in the quiet to prepare for the next day. The result is incredible. I hope they never leave this neighborhood, for they have are an anchor institution here.
