Le Pain Quotidien

Came here for a late lunch on weekday afternoon. This was my first time here though the other individual in my party had been here a few times before.
PROS: Food was excellent, fresh and yummy.
CONS: the SERVICE was terrible and unnecessarily slow. The restaurant was about half empty and due to this we thought we’d get great at least good service… WRONG. I guess the waitress got extra lax because the restaurant was on the empty side. We had to flag her down just to get the check. I watched her chit chat with coworkers, clean the registers while we waited for her get the check and then again to pick up the check and run the credit card. We basically had to flag her down. She was friendly and warm but clearly distracted and not at all attentive. As empty as the restaurant by the time we left we waited much too long.

Good. Not bad for fidi. The sit down food is better then the take and go. Ordered the chai latte, mushroom and goat cheese omelette. Pretty good.
The sandwiches and the soups to go — I tried several times, but won’t be wasting cash/​calories.

Nice atmosphere, great service and good tartines. It’s not the cheapest option to eat but this is the going price all around LPQ in Manhattan so no real complaints. A nice place to grab s light brunch or just get some work done over coffee.

Service is good but I find the food overpriced and just so so. But my major complain is that I’ve been getting fresh lemonade from these guys regularly and is the one thing I loved! It was fresh and just the right amount of sour. But today I stop by for my regular dose and I find that the lemonade tastes synthetic– more like it came from a carton. It beyond pisses me off because given what they charge for lemondade it should definitely be fresh– ALWAYS! Huge disappointment– won’t be going back.

Good idea poorly executed. I appreciate their idea of bring the fresh food to table. But the reason why food is food is that they should be tasty. Fresh food not tasty is not a business strategy.
