its a hit or miss. more often a huge miss. Granted I didn’t get a giant roach in my salad like another Unilocaler(which there is absolutely NO reason why the preparer missed that) Regardless of sanitary issues, the food should be made the same but sometimes they serve what looks like a leftover salad reused from their garbage. Because it’s mixes of different salads from their menu. 9⁄10 of the times they literally serve you garbage. The staff do not have a single clue when you address it. No apologies and refuse to take it back. Honestly, I’m considering calling a health inspector.

The special salad tonight!!! Cockroach salad. This is not OK! They were nice enough to apologize and give free pastries. Traumatized for life. Make sure this never happens again!!!

Usually like to go to Le pain quotidien for a nice coffee and croissant. My visit to the 68th and 1st location was not so good. The staff was very rude and when I asked for soy milk she confirmed twice(I asked because she seems to be somewhat ignoring me) and then gave it to me with regular milk which I cannot have. Will not be back!

I do not get the fascination with this chain. Our waiter was not attentive, he forgot silverware, so my soup, however good, was hard to eat without a spoon. My guest had a soft boiled egg that was raw. 1 uncooked egg, 1 soup without a spoon and $ 15 dollars later, I left a bit jipped and wondering what I ultimately consumed. Why is this place so expensive?

The service here is absolutely horrible, and the food is way over priced. I was charged $ 25 for a soup and a salad, a bit much for lunch at a chain, but I am always willing to shell out a few extra dollars for a clean meal. Upon receiving food I was not provided a set of utensils. After making the server aware of this he rudely stated to me that they do not provide utensils for take out service. I’ve never heard this before, ever; it is absurd, and asinine. Needless to say I won’t be returning here.

Have been wanting to try out LPQ for quite a while now since I pass by it every time I walk to work but I’ve been avoiding it like the plague since I’ve heard that the food is way overpriced. But, considering the(lack of edible) food options available at work, I decided to give this place a try. LPQ is separated into two sections; the front is for take-out/walk-ins and the inside is for those who want table service. One thing I noticed is that there’s no menu readily available anywhere in the front area so you sort of have to know in advance what you want to order. The service/cashier was ehh. She didn’t really give off a nice vibe, a huge contrast to the nice ambiance that the décor of the store gave off. Additionally, while waiting for my food, she just disappeared and a customer who just stepped in didn’t know who to order from and just left. So I got the avocado toast and thought it tasted great. The bread was toasted perfectly and the avocado on top was delectable. However, it was $ 11 for a medium-sized portion which I found absolutely ridiculous. There’s no way avocado on top of a few slices of toast is worth this much. It also came with a kale salad but I didn’t like it because they didn’t put the right dressing on it :/ I would say LPQ has pretty good/healthy options. But the price tags are just way too unreasonable. Really wanted to come back to try some of the other items that they offer such as their quiche but I don’t think my wallet will be happy if I do…

The service is consistently bad. This is such a shame because the food is excellent. The place needs new leadership. There’s no strong point of view on how best to serve the customer. I practically had to beg the waiter for coffee this morning. The coffee when it came I think is the best I’ve had in NYC. The chicken soup I had this morning was the BEST I’ve ever had without doubt.

Stopped by to buy a baguette. It was hard, stale, and expensive. I would not mind paying extra for good quality bread, but this was at least 1 – 2 days old. This bread is an embarrassment.

LPQ is a great chain. I’ve eaten at this chain all over the country, and this one is no exception. It has a huge seating area in the back. The ambience is rustic and comfortable. Service is always good. Menu is your standard LPQ one, where everything is fresh and well-prepared. This time I got the Cobb Salad(delicious and large) as well as the Chia seed pudding(I always get this at LPQ). The coffee also comes in a small pot, which is equivalent to two cups. I recommend everything on the menu… I don’t think I’ve had anything bad.

I was completely in love until I wait half an hour for avocado toast and saw 5 customers who ordered after me leave before me with their food. Clearly my order was just forgotten. Everything was great and tasted amazing but I wouldn’t come back. The wait was rude and they only checked on my food once I finally asked what was going on. Had I said nothing I probably would have waited an hour just for toast.

Decided to get a small bite and coffee around the hospital. Cheese almond danish was pretty good, but small and the cappuccino was fine. Like the décor and feel inside. A little peicey, but overall good experience.

A long overdue positive review for this LPQ. Bakery only since I’ve never had lunch there. I still miss the glory old days when I devoured a whole party-size berry tart. Too bad I have to exercise calorie control now. Anyways, all pastries are excellent! Even for scones. If I have to pick a few that kind of stand out, those would be berry tart, lemon tart, chocolate cake(the one covered with cocoa powder), cheese almond danish and chocolate brownie.

Quick, clean, lots of seating and space for the UES. It’s a good place to grab something quick around the hospital. I had the yogurt with granola and treated myself to a small Belgian chocolate brownie(which was delish and small, thankfully). Bottled water is Saratoga Springs water, so prepared to get fancy-like.

This could b a great place if they had any idea what they are doing. The word«inconsistent» is an understatement. U could come in here for an amazing soup. Come back next day and totally different. Same soup but one day full of ingredients … Next day mainly broth. One day bread included … One day not. Friend of mine raved about a great donut she had there. got same donut the next day(splurge at $ 4.25) and it was stale and crème turning. They need competent management

Love the quiche and salad! Always good every time. Bread is always fresh and coffee is great. menu is seasonal so they don’t always have the best options that I like. My negative is that their sides are just as pricey as a main dish and they give you the smallest portions. Would recommend for quick breakfast. My daughter loves it here

«Man this place is pricey» I remember why I stopped dining here. Do not get me wrong, the food is good but it is waaaaaay to expensive for what you get. Maybe it is due to all of the organic products. I do not understand why an open face chicken salad sandwich(Tartine) is 13 bucks, especially when I am going to hungry an hour or two later. I can say that the service was friendly and prompt and the overall layout of the place is nice. Note, this restaurant does NOT have diet coke.

It’s really amazing how Le Pain has grown in the city. They have stores everywhere, practically one in every 10⁄15 blocks. This just gives me more reason to buy their Organic five grain raisin bread, it’s simply delicious and super healthy. One loaf is around $ 9 and half loaves are $ 4.50. I’ve recently been on a chai latte craze and you would think Le Pain has good drinks, but somehow their chai isn’t very good at all. Oh well, I guess I have to keep searching for that perfect cup of chai!

I keep getting the same thing every time… Became a regular and my order is predicated before I get it lol… The servers are really nice and welcoming and fun to chat with.: they have their only jam and chocolate spreads that are beyond good and they have packaged spreads that are good for gift giving and well appreciated by a friend of mine… xD

A Belgian chain eatery done right. There is plenty of space to dine in with all the communal and individual tables. The food, coffee, and pastries are all really delicious, except it is more on the pricey side for such food. Although the service is generally slow because of the lack of servers in such a large place, the servers were quite friendly. As per food, I would recommend their chocolate croissant and lentil salad. Don’t hesitate to add the extra smoked salmon in your salad for that extra cost– it is definitely worth it!

Sometimes when I wander down a little farther from where I live, and even out for a good jog, I drop in here to get re-energized. I enjoy the selection of open faced sandwiches called«tartines». Always made fresh with terrific flavor, and I feel a bit healthier eating here. There are more than enough items on the menu to choose from — meats, fish, vegan — including daily breakfast, lunch, and coffee/tea specials. Recently, I had the rustic tuna, hummus & white bean with diced tomatoes and basil pesto on organic wheat bread and it was quite tasty with just the right portion of food for lunch. I also love the curried chicken salad tartine with cranberry chutney on the side. I have also enjoyed the salads here and you can’t go wrong with this choice as you receive a hearty amount on your plate. Many fine choices for tartines and salads that each are very unique with some eclectic ingredients such as quinoa, figs, tofu, and curry among others. Even the soups are delicious and served with their organic bread. I have had a large bowl of the minestrone here and they give you some tasty bread slices to dip into. Good stuff. It’s a cozy spot, and not too crowded as it’s on 1st Ave off the beaten path. Nice place for breads, muffins, spreads. Good spot to hit for lunch or weekend brunch. Quality coffee and teas. Usually has daily food and drink specials. A little pricey but worth the quality. Nice seating with separate tables and also big communal big tables to share as with most of this chain. Lots of terrific spreads to put on your bread and I could eat a jar of that hazelnut spread they place on the tables!
