Good food, great atmosphere– slightly on the expensive side considering what I had, but definitely worth it. The Prosciutto, Goat Cheese & arugula tartine was great they substituted the Fig with tomato for me. The raspberry lemonade with mint was excellent! I look forward to trying other food and desserts from here.

Throughout NYC we have seen a multitude of cafés, coffee shops and tea shops. This place is warm, welcoming AND has restrooms for their customers. The latter is strangely rare in these parts. Ordered English Breakfast Tea and Raspberry tarts. And I must say– WOW! The tart is refreshingly refined yet simple. We’ve been transported back to Paris! Jackie M is a fantastic server! Request her!!!

I have to say I was quite disappointed with the«dine-in» and«to-go» policy at this establishment. Its not the policy per se I have an issue with(I understand the idea is the workers want tips. its an expensive city. people need to make a living. i get it). my main problem is how unclear it was. Me and my small group(3 of us) arrived about noon-time on a weekday and it wasn’t terribly busy(plenty of seating). was at the register in about 1 – 2 minutes. Ordered about $ 25 worth of food for myself(salad, coffee, pastry). proceeded to enter the sitting area and we were brusquely told we were not allowed to sit down. So after I spent nearly $ 25(approximately ~ $ 70 with my small group collectively) we were essentially booted out of the establishment because no one told us of this policy. And to add insult to injury they did not give me a fork to eat my salad with! And they forgot my pastry!(I discovered my pastry-less bag before heading out but the fork I didn’t realize until I was eating my salad in central park with a spoon!). The hostess/waiter was fairly rude but the cashier who helped us was at least sincerely apologetic. She told us «sorry, but for next time just know if you want to eat here you can’t order from this line». and I flatly told her«I don’t think I’ll be coming back…» I have to say I mainly meant because I was traveling from LA. but I left it where it was because I was that unhappy with my experience. Salad was meh. Coffee was meh. Pistachio tart was DELICIOUS though.

Came here as a party of four during lunch. It was very busy, so we requested to be split up into two parties of two since the hostess had seated at least ten parties of two while we were waiting. She then seated three parties of two and counting and a party of three after we made our request. I understand that being a hostess is a difficult job at a busy place, but it’s rude to completely ignore customers.

I would get my coffee here from time to time and bring my friends here to eat but I recently stopped coming here. I stopped going to all le pains because it’s a sweat shop. if you sit by the kitchen or even go get a coffee in the morning you’ll see why it feels wrong supporting le pain. Although the staff seems very friendly, they all seem to be stressed and frantic. This store especially is way too small for all the people who come eat here. Don’t bother bringing a large group here. Plus the prices are ridiculous and the food is for hamsters.$ 2.00 for a mini brownie?

I come here sometimes on weekday mornings for a coffee and muffin while I wait for my bus. Recently I’ve had some disappointing experiences, but today was particularly disappointing. When I approached the cashier, she visibly coughed right into her gloved hand and seemed totally unaware. She only changed her glove about a minute later. I ordered a coffee and provided my own tumbler. She handed the tumbler to the woman in the back(an Asian woman I believe to be the manager, based on previous experiences). The manager then filled my tumbler using coffee that was in one of those to-go cartons for offices or large parties. When I asked why she wasn’t wasn’t using the spigot(which stays hot), the cashier said, «Oh, a customer came in here a little while ago and decided she didn’t want it.» I worried the coffee wouldn’t be hot, and sure enough, it was lukewarm. When I went back and told her it was luke warm, she took took the tumbler and poured in some coffee from the spigot(on top of the lukewarm coffee). Then she said, «I put some hot coffee on top of it.» Huh? They shouldn’t be so cheap at LPQ that they’re using lukewarm coffee that’s been sitting around unheated. I blame this situation on the manager, who continued to serve every drop of coffee in that to-go carton to other customers even after I complained that it was lukewarm. Get a grip!

Service is always slow at LPQ. I was ignored by most of the staff members here, from the time I was waiting on line to be seated to my time at the communal table. On the bright side, the young man who did seat me and take my order was very kind and lovely. The butternut squash soup was very lukewarm, closer to cold than hot. The salmon tartine was good as usual and the espresso was to die for.

This location has an absolutely a lovely morning staff. 10⁄10 I’m greeted by Kat when I walk in and other lovely employees who take their time to chat with me and even learn my drinks. I walk out of that coffee shop with a smile every morning because I know that my drink was made correctly and because I genuinely feel that my business is appreciated. Le pain is my top choice to consume my morning cup, if I can’t make it to this particular location(I live on the west side) I will walk to the nearest location to enjoy an authentic cup of coffee with lovely choices of milk. :)

Cinnamon latte. Fresh croissant! Curry chicken salad! Avocado toast! Exquisite! Don’t miss this bakery and communal table! Service is fast and friendly NYC! There was a small wait, but worth it. Split pea soup was delicious. Waffle with jam and crème. Our table of 5 was happy!

I had lunch at my favorite Le Pain the other day! The staff at the 85th and Madison location always treat me like family. Since they are always very busy in the afternoon, I’m not crazy about coming in at that time. Sometimes customers can fight over tables and there’s not that much elbow room but I was CRAVING the Pole Caught Tuna Tartine! Overall the food and service were very warm and cordial and I can’t wait to get back! Sincerely, Guitar Goddess

Good café and good healthy eats. It’s simple and sophisticated at the same time. I always order the quinoa salad with a latte, or lemonade… Comes with bread that I slather on jelly and Nutella… Voíla! Instant delicious dessert. You may have to request it for them to bring it over but comes with the meal. Dark chocolate, Nutella, apricot and berry jam available. Honestly everything I have here has been simple, well made food. It’s more of a breakfast/lunch spot. Service is great. Clean. Reasonable prices. Great, easy place to meet friends and chat. Most places have outdoor seating as well. I’ll be coming back again and again at different locations in NYC… Never had anything less than good here.

2.5: This place was very busy when we came for brunch on a Saturday and they tout their fresh ingredients. Once we were seated, the server took a long while to take our orders, get our food out, forgot part of someone’s order and only remembered after prompted, and to get the check. She also didn’t check on us once. That type of lackluster service overshadowed the food, which was fine. I had the frittata($ 12.95), which was cooked well. The salad was well dressed; I particularly liked the radishes thrown in. It also came with two pieces of bread, which didn’t seem like they just came out of the oven and we weren’t given any butter as an accompaniment. The yogurt parfait looked good as well. I really want to like this place more, but it is a bit pricey and the service this time wasn’t great. Other branches might differ.

A great selection of cheeses, strong coffee, delicious orange juice, what’s not to like at Le Pain. Nothing. Well I shouldn’t say that because I haven’t checked out everything on the menu but so far so good. I like the bright airy space and the service is OK too. It’s nice to have a place to fill up on great food without taking forever. I should also mention the ham and cheese croissant because while probably not the best health wise are delicious.

Just came here a little while ago for a macchiato and an Asian woman who appeared to be the manager had to give her unsolicited advice on whether my jacket was appropriate for the cool weather. I was in a good mood so I was nice about it but I’m a grown man. I don’t need her fucking two cents on what I’m wearing. She should focus on her job which is running the damn café and stop chastising customers on what she thinks they should be wearing. Not really surprised by her lack of professionalism though.

Usually I go to the Lincoln Plaza Le Pain, but I wanted to eat something good that I’m familiar with and know it’s guaranteed good hence today’s location. I don’t understand why people left somewhat negative reviews about Le Pain in general or this place: the food is always good whichever Le Pain I go to, the service sometimes changes, true. Today I have an attentive waitress so it’s all good. The amount of food is sufficient for me; if someone is saying it’s so little: well, it’s not the typical American restaurant where they stuff you with carbs and sugar only so you feel you can’t even move after. It’s good stuff here, good quality ingredients that leave you full but not sick. All in all: I think Le Pain Quotidien is guaranteed good food. Always.

This review is for Le Pain Quotidian’s hot chocolate only. I ordered the hot chocolate here and was left quite upset with the cold and chalky drink that they served up. Will not be returning.

After the restaurant completely changed the employees and managers, the atmosphere became different. Tourists probably won’t notice. But we don’t come in to dine in anymore. However, every morning I am there buying pastry and Latte. Service personnel could have better attitudes. Sometimes there is a large line, mixed up orders, and a half empty latte. Still love the apple turnover and the organic milk in my drink. Just wish everything was more welcoming and more organized.

I had their iced coffee– refreshing & organic.(I like mine plain black– bold, rich, & strong.) Though not my top iced coffee experience, I’d order it again. My friend had the sparkling hibiscus tea, it sounded refreshing & delicious– it was flat & overall non– impressive. However, I will note that I feel this drink has potential to be not only delightful but refreshing & inspiring. We shared an almond meringue, between 3 people, that looked like a small loaf. It was definitely sweet, a friend described it as «teeth curding sweet.»(Luckily for me the black, no sugar iced coffee was the perfect complement.) I’m not a meringue person, nor a fan of sugary things but despite that I would say the almond flavour was exquisite. From the little that I know of meringue texture, it too seemed perfect to my untrained eye/mouth. My friend ordered the Quiche Lorraine which she described as filling and great with the perfect side salad. Another friend ordered the Prosciutto & Ricotta Tartine and absolutely loved it. She felt it had too much ricotta but from my standpoint it was a balanced ensemble to the prosciutto. I had the Gluten Free Paris Ham & Aged Gruyère Tartine that really hit the spot and was filling to a T! The mustard trio was the perfect accompaniment to the taste bud orchestra in my mouth. My only ordering regret is not living in the city to return on a regular basis. Service, an A+, Clint served us and he was a delight, patient, knowledgeable, as well as good at reading our need for privacy at one point.
