I got my snorkel/​fins/​mask from Pan Acqua last year when I did my Open Water, then came here to get a wetsuit, dive computer, BCD and some other accessories as it’s a bit closer to work and not as crowded as Pan Acqua (where I felt a bit lost in the crowd).
Kevin had the patience of a saint answering all my questions and letting me try on about a million different items. He gave me great advice on which models and sizes would be best for me and I’m very happy with the deals I ended up with. There’s so much inventory in stock, and no pressure at all to buy.
Best dive shop in Manhattan!

Nice small scuba shop on the top floor of the Adorama photo store and owned by the same owners. Leisure Pro is a spot on web shopping site with great knowledgeable reviews and articles on their site. As a brick and mortar it’s hard to garner the items you are going to purchase as since the store is small you won’t see everything out on display but would have to get help from the clerks. The service is great though and very knowledgeable. They do have a wide selection of a lot of products for within the city that is good and have great price points. Came here for a few items and they were all in stock and the service was very helpful. I’d give 4 stars if the items were out on display but it’s understandable since it’s a small storefront.

I called on Friday to make sure that a part I needed was in stock. The rep on the phone said that it was. I said that I would come pick it up on the weekend. The rep said «great, have a nice day.» On Saturday I took an hour and a half trip into the city. Low and behold, Leisurepro is closed on Saturday. It would have been great if the person that I spoke with had told me this.
I am a long time Leisurepro shopper thar has spent hundreds of dollars with the company. I won’t spend another penny here. That is terrible customer service.

I ordered a few items and my dive computer was not included in my order. I sent an email and called. Customer service, located in Manilla, is not timely or helpful; I am still waiting for a resolution however my credit card was charged. spoke to a person in sales and he noted the box was not heavy enough to contain the dive computer… but I should wait. I leave for my dive vacation in a few days without the Dive Computer I have paid for. Recently I received a letter from the president of the company saying they really wanted my business and cared about my feedback — really?

I have to give this place a terrible review. From what I’ve been told they have a good selection of gear and good peices. However they have HORRIBLE customer service. I went to the store on a day that had holiday hour’s and the recording said the store would close at 3, when I arrived at 1:00 the sales associates all rudely told me that the hours I was told were incorrect and they were closing at 1. I explained to them that I made the one and a half hour trip to get there for just a mask and fins they did not care and told me that I could come back two days later when they re open.
There is another scuba store a few blocks away, I went there and was treated much better and found. I needed.

They’re OK, — I go there to buy SCUBA equipment, I’ve been a patron since the 1990’s when they had another name, (so long ago I forgot the other name…). Some of the staff can have some childish, snotty attitudes, but I just brush them off since it’s not worth getting flustered over and there are plenty of other places to choose from if they rub me the wrong way, (I’m a New Yorker…). — A shame actually, it’s like they shoot themselves in the foot, I bet they’d have at least 33% more business and loads of repeat customers if they just toned down the attitude and became more pleasant & patient. Courtesy doesn’t cost anything, on the contrary it can only help you gain. Anyways… on the positive side they can be helpful when they want to be and are sometimes willing to discount or give you a good deal which is nice. (Sort of like a Dr Jekyll /​Mr Hyde ‘kinda thing). Overall they’re OK as long as you physically visit the store.

Place was recommended by word of mouth. I browsed their online selection before going to their store. I was interested in a wetsuit for an upcoming trip to Bonaire. So… we made it to the store they had a huge selection for me to try! Unfortunately the one I wanted wasn’t available in my size so they placed the order for me. In less than 24 hours it was delivered to my front steps!!! Thank you Leisure Pro you have won me over.

As a new Open Water Diver I was unsure about the besk mask for me, so I visited Leisure Pro. The brightly lit third floor scuba shop had a wide selection of gear. To a new diver it was a little overwhelming so I asked for help.
After asking for some help choosing a mask the sales associate, Ben, helped me find a perfect fit for my face. My last mask was not even close to as comfortable as the new one I purchased. Ben was patient and gave honest, first-​hand advice on what to purchase.
The mask which was usually $ 85 turned out to be on sale for $ 70. For the comfort level of the mask I was surprised at the low price.
I will definitely be returning for future purchases.

As a novice, I placed two orders with LeisurePro online for the most basic scuba diving items. The fins I ordered weren’t the right size for me, so I e-​mailed customer service and asked if I could ship them back for an exchange using their generous return policy. (Since my fins qualified for free shipping originally, they footed the cost of return shipping– you just need to ask for this.) They were happy to oblige and promptly processed my return and sent a replacement size in time for my trip. I was very relieved that they handled everything so quickly! With the smaller fins, I realized that the spring straps that came supplemental to my fins were then too small. I was afraid to ask again this time, but LeisurePro did just as well to remedy this.
I would definitely recommend purchasing from them. From my experience, I found them to have great prices and excellent customer service. I also think they have reliable resources and expertise. I plan on buying from them in the future as I add to my gear.

I went to leisure Pro to buy a new BC, regulator and dive computer. I waited 15 minutes for someone to acknowledge my presence. I explained the salesman that my current year was 20 year old and had about a $ 2000 budget and I needed some help and trade knowledge to pick out new equipment. The sales person was extremely rude and disrespectful from the very beginning. He then proceeded to talk down to me like I was a complete idiot and told me that he couldn’t help me unless I knew what I wanted. I’ve been driving for 38 years and have never been treated like this by any dive shop. I WOULD NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS DIVE SHOP AFTER THEY TREATED ME SO HORRIBLY FOR NO REASON AT ALL !

Ben fitted me for a mask that was shaped to fit the size and shape of my face so that water would not get it and it would be comfortable dive. As someone new to diving I was depending on their promise to honor an exchange of the product I paid top dollar for has any issue which my mask kept consistently fogging during my dive. I called customer service many times and said I would get a call back yet they never seem to have time if the issue does not concern a sale let alone a return.

My online order is more than 2 weeks late. did not arrive in time for my dive trip. Customer service is no help in resolving the issue and I am still awaiting my oder. Will never order through them again.

My husband and I have been getting our equipment from this post for over 15 years. They are super knowledgeable about old and new device and styles. Very family-​oriented. Just bought wetsuits for the family this weekend and it couldn’t have been a more pleasurable experience, as usual.

I went into the store on Friday to buy a snorkel, mask, and fins for free diving. I am a beginner and I had done a ton of research online but the salesperson was super helpful and knowledgeable. I asked about a dive «watch» and he calmly explained it was a computer and maybe I didn’t need it in the beginning if I was just spearfishing a little bit. He could have up-​sold me or tried to get me to buy other gear I didn’t need, but he didn’t.
When I got home, i realized I had been billed for 4 snorkels, instead of 1, by accident. I called, they apologized, promptly refunded me, and were super helpful. I can’t say how happy I am with the customer service. I just started this new sport and I will be happy to return to buy all of my gear for the next few years from Leisure Pro! Plus, they were maybe 10 bucks cheaper on the fins than Amazon, and had the right size.

Leisure Pro as a company is a good model. There’s a few pro’s and some cons. They offer great pricing on mainstream, high quality brands. And they offer a reasonable shipping timeline.
The cons though are fairly extreme. LeisurePro has opted to contract out their customer service through a company called Needle, based in Utah. This company exploits their employees, fails to support them accurately and has what can only be considered a shoddy corporate structure. The end result is that you have a customer service «support» system that cannot support you. Representatives cannot answer basic order questions such as where is my order, did it go through or when will you get more in stock. They can’t see inventory levels and therefore, cannot assist. Needle on a whole is a company that fails to provide any support to it’s contractors and upon complaining 4 weeks ago, cannot be bothered to return 2 e-​mails and 3 voicemails. Two phone calls to Leisure Pro also went unreturned.
This would be fine if LeisurePro as a company were open. However, they close at extreme hours and observe the Orthodox Jewish holidays and schedules, often resulting in a week long or greater delay in shipping.
By calling Leisure Pro they are willing to undercut the prices of dive companies that supply them and essential drive local dive shops (and those that LOVE the water and SCUBA) out of business. Support your local dive shop and those that love to dive.

We’ve been renting snorkeling gear for years and finally decided to buy our own set.
We went to Leisure Pro not knowing anything about anything and Ben Teichberg was super helpful. He listened to our needs and explained why he was recommending what he was recommending, giving us different price/​quality options but always well within our budget.
In the end, Ben Teichberg hooked us up with great snorkeling gear that worked really well. It made our snorkeling experience even more enjoyable.

I have been shopping at Leisure Pro for years. They’re primarily known as an online store, but I have had the pleasure of visiting in person on a number of occasions. I have gotten to know Ben Teichberg, the manager, over the years. He’s a very nice guy who gives excellent advice. The most telling thing is that Ben never recommends the most expensive gear when you ask for a suggestion. The service is very good in the store– not pushy at all. I ordered a pair of glue in reading lenses online. I have a mask with a Rx in it and the lenses don’t work. This wasn’t specified on the website. Even though I tried to install the lenses, Leisure Pro gave me a refund. I’m glad that they have become authorized dealers for many of the brands that they sell over the years.
Can’t be beat for shopping for dive gear at low prices.

I’ve bought a variety of gear from LiesurePro over the years. I don’t believe I’ve ever cheated. What you see is really what you get. The website is really easy to navigate and has the ability to filter by brand and various features. This alone makes finding what you need simple and painless.
The store has the fast shipping imaginable. I can order something from them on a Monday and have it on my doorstep in California on Friday. California has another of the biggest online scuba stores less than 50 miles from my home, and they are unable to get stuff to me in that time.
The last thing I’ll mention is that they will buy your old gear back from you. Not using something? Got a new BP&W and want to trade in that old BCD? Liesurepro will send you a shipping label for you to mail in your old gear. In return, you get back cash or store credit – your choice. Sure keeps me from piling up too much stuff in the closets and garage.

I came here to buy snorkeling gear after stumbling upon their web site. I can’t believe they are based out of a NYC store because their prices are by far the cheapest I found anywhere, including online. I got my mask and snorkel (both current models from a big name brand) for 45−50% off the retail price. The prices are the same in-​store as on the web site (they told me some things were cheaper in-​store than the web site, but none of my items were).
Their store (which I was told was newly expanded) has a large display of snorkel masks to try on and other equipment and products. Often they have to get a specific product from the basement, which can take awhile depending on the backup.
The woman who helped us seemed knowledgeable and was very helpful. She wasn’t pushy about getting us to buy things we didn’t want or spend more money than we wanted.
I only wish items around the store had price tags. Because of that I was glad that I looked at the web site (read reviews, looked at prices, etc.) before coming into the store.
I would highly recommend this place and will come here first for any of my snorkeling or diving needs!

After deciding on a last minute unplanned trip where I would be learning to scuba dive, I rushed to Leisure Pro to grab a PADI Open Water Diver Manual to prepare for my Open Water Certification. I figured I could run through the book on the flight and be ahead of the game.
This proved to be helpful, allowing me more time to enjoy my destination, and less time studying. I recommend other take the same approach if time allows.
The store can be a bit tricky to get to. Do not do as I did and go into the camera shop next door. The pictures and gear in the display will lead you to believe that the camera shop oddly sells both cameras and scuba gear. Instead, you actually have to go into the small foyer to the right of the camera store, and then up to the third floor.
I wasn’t helped immediately, but the store was filled with customers so a pass is given. Even though I didn’t know what all the items were at the time, the store also seemed to be stocked with a pretty good assortment of diving gear. This is after taking into account the diving shops I later visited at the many dive shops at my destination for comparison when I actually knew what I was looking at.
Once I went to the take the course I was made to purchase the book, being told PADI requires it be purchased with each course. The dive shop was surprised I was allowed to purchase the book separately without being told I would have to repurchase due to PADI’s efforts to avoid books being passed on from diver to diver. I don’t know; either of the shops could be on the wrong end of PADI’s guidelines. Nevertheless, it was well worth the saved vacationing time, monopolizing the lengthy time spent on the flight.
