I should have checked the reviews before I went there. The optician broke the frame of my glasses but denied. The manager was very rude to me. Terrible experience like a nightmare. Never go there. Too bad.

I didn’t even step in the door before they were rude about my insurance questions. I guess they don’t want new business. Based on other reviews I’ve read. I shouldn’t have even bothered. I never write reviews, but I realized if more people had written how difficult and rude at least this office staff were — I wouldn’t have even considered it. Too bad for them. .. I have tons of extra FSA money to blow «big mistake, huge».

After a long day of work the last thing I want to do is see a doctor and get examined. Dr. Nancy Suen made it so easy and it was such a pleasure! She is very attentive and patient. I have been suffering from dry eyes and trying to find the right contacts. Her first pick for me was by far better than my original pair! I am very much looking forward to my follow up. WOO HOO!

Found this location as it was close to my office. I have been ordering contacts from them for over a year and have had decent experiences. I order the contacts and they usually come within a day a two which is great since i usually put it off until the last minute. As of late they have been sending them straight to my apartment which also takes a day or two which is great!
however– i ordered on a monday this time and was promised the contacts by thursday, so when i got home on thursday and they weren’t there i was curious (they usually arrive the next day). I called the shop about 6:20 as i saw they were closing at 6:30 and figured i would just ask for a tracking number (as a person who works in customer service i know this is a simple task). The man who answered the phone– who always answers the phone and takes my orders claimed to be the janitor and that he could not help me. Incredibly unprofessional as i know he was fibbing so he wouldn’t have to do extra work at the end of the night.
100% taking my business elsewhere– no time for rude unprofessional staff.

DO NOT go here for Opticians.
They lost my results, had to take exam multiple times, DAMAGED my glasses, WORST EXPERIENCE EVER.
Actual staff upfront were nice.

Woefully under-​managed relative to most stores I’ve been to. Bring a sandwich and plan on being there a long time.

Last year I came here for the first time and loved it. I have rigid contact lenses which aren’t too common anymore but Dr Jasmine Irani worked tirelessly with me over a series of about 5 follow up appointments to get the right fit. LOVED her. I just found out that she moved away and doesn’t practice in NYC anymore which was very sad news but I went back here today anyway to get updated prescriptions, etc.
Walked in, no one says hello until several minutes later. I was asked by a very standoffish woman if I’d ever been here before to which I replied, yes, I had. She then said, «No, have you been to THIS location before.» I replied again yes, I had — I lived nearby. She acted like I was a huge inconvenience and shuffled around «finding my chart» which she didn’t actually locate.
Then she asked me to fill out some paperwork — standard. But, as I was doing so, she was like «oh it’ll be a wait there’s people ahead of you now.» I said I had a 2:20pm appointment and asked how long the wait would be and she said AN HOUR. She then acted like I was the bitch for thinking this was a little ridiculous. I asked why they wouldn’t notify people if they are running that behind. Picking up the phone to call people who actually bothered to schedule appointments isn’t that much to ask.
The point of an appointment is that it be on time, with advance notice so that you can plan around it. If her attitude hadn’t been so very shitty I would have nicely rescheduled and figured something else out.
She never apologized, just said «well do you want to be seen today or not? There’s nothing I can do, there’s a wait.» Don’t work in a client facing role if you have no people skills. Very disappointed and will not be returning to this location ever again.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Nancy Suan and Kendra (please excuse me if I messed the names up). Both were extremely nice and sweet. They were both very thorough with explaining every detail of my exam and my purchases so that I could fully understand the pricing. I can’t stress enough of how nice these two people were. It made my experience very smooth and comfortable, especially since it my first time at this stores location. Overall, great experience with great people who took their time to make sure I was satisfied.

My experience at the Midtown East LensCrafters was phenomenal. The opticians and front desk staff were extremely friendly and coordinated the office in a very well manner. Dr. Suen is highly recommended, very easy to talk to, and very informative. Definitely consider booking your eye appointments here.

They were nice but the optometrist was very arrogant and I didn’t care for his manner. I didn’t get his name, maybe started with a P. I think he decided to talk down to me because my exam was from the free clinic so he hurried up and rushed, he tried to force me to get bifocals which I didn’t want, he said «well you can only get one pair of glasses» I told him that’s fine, I understand that. I don’t want bifocals. Why were we going back and forth about this… he said well you are going to lose something. I told him Very calmly that I’m used to losing things. He said well that’s up to you and hurried me out of the room. I don’t have benefits on my job at this time and am happy to even have a piece of a job… I really didn’t like that doctor and don’t want to see him ever again, I hope the glasses are made right so I don’t have to return. The office staff was ok, nothing bad or good. I told the manager about him and she tried to make an excuse for him that some people don’t understand what bifocals are, or some foolishness like that. I stayed quiet the rest of the time I was there. Note to LensCrafters: just because it’s free to the patient doesn’t mean that the customer is less than you. I think in the airlines it’s called Non Revenue… I’m not demanding or feel entitled but I do like to be treated with respect. That’s all I want. Nothing more or less. Not that I’m ungrateful, I just don’t like to treated like trash.

Dr. Irani, Optometrist and her General Manager, Kenya Dominquez are totally professional, thorough and really listened to me when I explained my latest eye symptoms. They addressed my needs and after my exam determined next best steps.
I have been a patient at this Lenscrafter location for eight years and without a doubt Dr. Irani is the overall best optometrist I have seen.

I just started getting my eyes examined within the last 2 years and was recommended to see Dr. Jasmine Irani. She was awesome! I was having terrible eye strain and getting headaches from staring at a computer all day at work and she explained exactly why it was happening and what it was I needed. I went through that entire eye exam process and she even explained step by step everything she was checking and answered every question. She is absolutely amazing and I will absolutely be going back to see her for my check ups and anytime I need/​want new frames. I highly recommend you see Dr. Jasmine Irani for your eye exams!

I was going on vacation and I had just realized that my contact lens script was expired so I couldn’t get any refills through my usual vendors. Luckily i was able to make an appointment on my lunch break and get my eyes checked out here. Dr. Irani and her friendly staff gave me thorough exam. They were also able to accommodate me as I was on my lunch break they let me come back later to do the dilation. I was really happy with the overall experience and I didn’t break the bank.

I never usually take the time to write reviews but the service I received here today was UNBELIEVABLE! And in a good way! I did my research before I went into the store and had an idea of the frames I was looking for. I walked in and was greeted with a smile. I really hate going in retail stores where the salespeople are breathing down your back, so this was perfect. Jessica at the counter introduced herself and told me to let her know if I needed her to open any cases. After browsing around on my own terms I told her I needed a case opened and from there she helped me pick out the perfect frame out of 5 different ones I chose. She was very helpful and thoughtful– the ones I chose in the end she had me try on over 5 times to compare to the others to make sure they looked the bestr. I don’t think I’ve ever gone to a store and felt so good about a purchase. She was also extremely friendly, she cared about my questions and concerns and I left the store feeling great. I can’t say that very often nowadays. I definitely, definitely recommend this store and especially Jessica since she was such great help!

Just OK.
You would have thought I’d walked into a used car dealership. It’s very salesy. I have an optometrist at home that I’ve been going to since I was 8, so I wasn’t interested in doing a full exam, I just wanted an update on my prescription so I could order some new specs from the Bklyn Flea, and timing was an issue. I made this very clear to the desk guy (who was actually really nice).
The doctor used scare tactics to try to get me to do the full exam there. Maybe she has a dilation quota she has to meet? It’s Christmastime, and there’s a bonus involved? I don’t know, she was pretty relentless about it though. She was resentful when I kept declining, and she ended up being kind of irritating.
In any case, when they weren’t trying to intimidate me into a full exam, or hurling frames at me, they were actually quite efficient. And maybe, just maybe, if she had offered me a gently used, late-​model Ford Escape…
Anyway, lesson learned, don’t mess around with this corporate retail crap, go support your local optometrist!

Came in here on a whim around noon and was out the door around 2pm with a sample pair of lenses. Dr. Irani was awesome and I felt comfortable with all the sales people here as well. Would definitely recommend this particular location for Dr. Irani. Cannot comment on the selection of frames as I was there specifically for contacts.

Don’t dismiss it because it’s a chain – the staff is very polite and helpful, and there is a great selection. The high prices are what’s to be expected, but there happened to be a courtesy promotion and I got 50% off my purchase. Or, if you bring in an old pair you can get up to $ 200 off your purchase too.
