Excellent chocolate chip cookies, some of the other things are a bit spotty. Quick, rarely a line. Better than other location.

Compared to the location in the UWS, tge cookies taste similar. In terms of waiting on line, it’s actually only slightly better. Im not sure why. I wouldve thought that it would be a lot less busy in Harlem, but it’s not. But, then again, I havent witnessed 20 people wait on line like I have inthe UWS.
Anyways, like everyone has said, the cookies are great, especially the chocolate peanut butter and chocolate walnut.

Lapin and I were in the area and we smelled something sweet in the air. The alluring scent lead us to the doorstep of this fine bakery. When we arrived, there were three people before us but the line was gradually getting bigger. Be warned, there isn’t much space so plan on getting your order to go. I got the chocolate chip walnut cookie ($ 4) and Lapin got the blue berry muffin ($ 3). The muffin was just okay, it had big blueberries exploding in each bite but the true star of this visit was the cookie. The cashier gave me a freshly made one and oh my god, the chocolate, the warm goooey pieces! All mines! It was like bits of heaven. My only gripe, I just wished it was a tad cheaper so I can support my habit.

Can’t believe I’ve lived in NY for 9 years and this is my first time trying Levain.
BESTT cookie i’ve ever had, hands down. I always heard about Levain but thought it was just over hyped but boy was i wrong.
I went on a Saturday afternoon and was expecting a long line from stories i’ve heard but luckily there was no line at this location! I think the 74^th street one is more popular so I would definitely suggest this location to skip out on the long lines.
My biggest regret is only getting 1 cookie there. I got the chocolate chip walnut cookie and it was soooo good! The center seems like it’s almost not fully cooked which makes it very soft and chewy while the outside was crunchy. They definitely didn’t skimp out on the chocolate either! Definitely will be back to try the other cookies!

Stopped by before a day of studying, could not have made a better decision! Between the two of us, we got the choc chip and walnut cookie, the chocolate brioche and sour cream coffee cake (because why not).
Cookie: large, with so many layers and textures, your tastebuds thank you.
Sour cream coffee cake: incredibly moist and flavorful.
Chocolate brioche: perfect amount of chocolate to balance the brioche
Will definitely return to try the other items on the menu and even the coffee!

I may be in the minority here but it is what it is. The cookies ARE Soooo delicious! Yes the product is way good and they are big. The cookies you are paying $ 4 for, will fill you right up and have enough to share.
The issue I have with this place was the customer service, line issues and general «taking care of the customer». This location is VERY small. If you want to sit down and eat your cookie, it is near impossible. You will most likely have to do it on the bench outside. They have two chairs inside but when people are in there ordering, you are inconvenience.
You get whatever you desire out of a cookie here at this Harlem location but you will most likely have to wait (for sometimes at long period of times) to grab one. The staff members could be a little more friendly.

So I actually wasn’t able to eat the cookie until 10 hours after I had purchased it, and it was still really really good. I think that speaks to its quality.
I wasn’t hungry when I went to the bakery so I didn’t try anything fresh, but I got the chocolate chip walnut cookie for a friend who was dying to try it. Through heat, bus rides, the dry airplane ride, and several hours of just sitting in its original paper sack on a desk, this cookie was still moist on the inside and just slightly crunchy on the outside; the chocolate chips were still kind of soft after 10 hours!
The flavor combo was amazing. The very rich dark chocolate chips and that crunchy walnut were a great tasting combo as well as a nice texture combo. I only wish I had taken a bite when it was completely fresh!

Cookies here are ginormous! Very tasty and rich… I’d try out their Chocolate Chip Walnut first and if you really love chocolate get the Double Chocolate Chip Cookie. Their cookies are huge…$ 4 a piece, moist and almost have the consistency of a muffin top but it’s a cookie! Try it… you’ll love it!

Seriously the best thing your mouth will meet. I moved out of the city and when we come back for visits we always… i repeat… ALWAYS stop here for cookies. yummm.
We’ve tried them all, none have disappointed.

Whoever says money can’t buy happiness has clearly never had a cookie from this place.
The first time I went here I ordered a couple and the lady was nice enough to give me two that had just been baked … I took one bite and I swear to god I nearly fell off my chair. The chocolate chip walnut is amazing … the dark chocolate chocolate chip is pure, decadent seduction.
That is the extent of what I feel I need to share about this place.

Their chocolate chip w/​walnut cookie is one of the BEST cookies I have ever eaten in the entire world! Forget the other types of cookies they sell (Oatmeal Raisin, Double Chocolate Chip). Just eat that scrumptious, delicious, addictive chocolate chip w/​walnut one!
Brought a few of the chocolate chip w/​walnut cookies to my mother & sister in law’s home a few days ago, and they were raving on how delicious they were. YUM!
P.S — ask them for a fresh batch of cookie & eat it right away — super soft & the chocolate melts in your mouth. Otherwise, it becomes very crunchy but still tasty nonetheless.

I was in the area and came here with my family because it was on the top of our list of places we wanted to eat on our trip to NY. It was raining so I’m guessing that’s why there was no one inside. We got the classic walnut and chocolate chip cookie that I had been dreaming of for so long. It was so tasty and chewy and yummy and exactly as good as I imagined it. I don’t think I would go out of my way to go there but I am so thankful I was in the area to try that cookie.

So, I went to this bakery just because people were talking about this so much!
I went to this bakery at 2ish and there were like 20 people in line already!
And more people were added into the line very quickly. The cookies were great! Affordable price! Crispy outside and soft inside! All 4 cookies are good! It is a bit heavy yet very fulfilling! I didnt try other baked goods but the banana chocolate chip bread (?) looked so good! I will be back for sure!

After a working a long night shift in the city, my Sunday morning would not have been complete without a warm Chocolate Brioche and some warm cookies to take home! Parking was scarce even for a Sunday morning — found a spot a block away, this place is definitely meant for pedestrian traffic! I was the second person there as the doors opened at 9am and in the five minutes that I was there — the line was already 5 patrons deep!
I’ve been to the other location by Central Park many years ago, the quality of the baked products have not changed. Less is more, butter is the shining star in their cookies. The brioche was so sinfully good, I’m glad I didn’t eat a real dinner overnight! Prices are fair for NYC 4 dollars a cookie about the same for all the other baked goods. A must do!

Hear me out. The cookies are bomb diggity. However, they are $ 4 and juuuuuuuuuuuuust slightly undercooked in the center. This may be a personal preference, but I wasn’t super into the gooey insides… however that is a selling point for many people.
This is a super small café, no seating room… walk up, order, leave, find nearest subway, leave Harlem. That is essentially all one can do at this place.
They have four flavors of cookies, looks like other bakery items as well but didn’t try. I liked the oatmeal cookie the best… even though theyre famous for chocolate walnut. There isn’t a line at this location when we went (prime time, middle of the day Saturday), so may be worth coming up here instead.

We all have that one person/​place/​thing that we all discover and grow to love, then realize that we might easily become addicted to it. Levain is one of those thangs.
Friki brought me here after telling me about them for so long. We originally drove to the 77^th Street location, but the line was longer than Kanye’s list of paparazzi run-​ins… No, seriously. The line went half a block, and we’re talking a NEW YORK CITY block… So we headed back Uptown. We got in, and after a short wait of about 3 minutes, we were taken care of. Now I was originally skeptical at the thought of paying $ 4 for a cookie… But I’m now convinced that it’s more than a «cookie» that Levain gives you; They give you love, hope, peace, tranquility, and a cookie-​brownie-​cake thing, with the thickness of a scone.
So here’s the skinny… Levain has a small menu, designed to only serve a few things, thus keeping their stellar quality consistent for all customers. And they only bake for the DAY, which ensures their freshness and quality is maintained. So once they run out? You’re poo out of luck.
So when making my choice? I saw a full chocolate cookie-​brown-​cake thing, with specs of tan in it… Could it be? Chocolate and peanut butter? My golly it is! You’re dang right, I’ll have one! And BOY did I enjoy it. I can honestly liken that dessert I ate, to a romantic experience. I wanna marry the cookie. Seriously.
If you’re ever feeling adventurous, just GO. Let the breeze blow you over there, just go EARLY!

Divine chocolate chip cookies. If you eat only one thing in NYC, this is it. Other items are decent but really, just go for the cookie.
Okay, maybe not, because it’ll ruin all other cookies for you.

So I was a little hesitant that this place was overhyped. How could a small bakery, serving just 4 flavors of cookies, be THAT amazing.
Well I have to admit that this place is just that amazing! Today was the first time I went, and I tried one cookie, the chocolate chip one with nuts in it, and let me just tell you, it’s the best cookie I have ever had! I’m not a fan of nuts in my cookie, but after trying theirs, I think otherwise.
The cookie is a perfect blend of crunchy on the outside, yet soft and ooey gooey in the center. It was a pretty big size and one cookie was extremely filling. Its $ 4 for one piece, and let me just tell you, it’s worth every penny!
A definite must have!

A cookie the size of a pie plate! I’ve been noshing on these monsters since the sixth grade, when a childhood friend introduced me to the original UWS location. The chocolate-​chip walnut cookie is a must-​have before you leave this earth. I’m so thrilled to have a Levain so close to my office! Unfortunately, my pants and thighs do not share this enthusiasm.
If you’re a cookie lover/​monster and you’re in NYC you must get to one of these two Levains. There are breads and other pastries to be had, but cookies are the true winners and the main event here. The double dark chocolate-​chocolate chip is to die for!
These cookies must weigh a solid half pound and they are always fresh, gooey and warm. This is a great place for sharing– the cookies are so huge you might want to eat half now, and half later.
Cookies are $ 4 which is a damned fair price for happiness in cookie form. You can’t go wrong here: cookies, brioche and scones are worth the trips and the calories.
Note: This is a cookie dough-lover’s wet dream because it’s often not fully cooked in the center, and I’m sure we can all agree that’s +5 delicious points.

I’ll keep this short and sweet.
Come here — get a cookie of each flavor.
Take them to your house. Pick out one to try.
Insert in microwave for 20seconds simultaneously pour yourself a glass of milk. Sit down & enjoy that little piece of heaven.
PS. good luck finishing the whole thing, they are massive ! I’m more than satisfied with ½ of one.

Ma préférence va à celui aux pépites de chocolat et noix mais celui au beurre de cacahuète est exquis, peut-​être tout autant mais comme je l’ai mangé le lendemain pour le petit-​déjeuner il n’était pas aussi fondant ça doit venir de ça. Mais plusieurs jours plus tard j’en ai repris: noix pépites de chocolat et celui tout chocolat qui était très bon aussi.
Les cookies coûtent 4 $ pièce, ça peut paraître cher mais ils sont énormes et surtout ils sont orgasmiques !

Hummmmmmmmmm ces cookies !! Ils sont au top, énormes, hyper consistants. Heureusement qu’on a marché toute la journée, ça déculpabilise :)

Toujours aussi merveilleux! 3 ans après ma première visite, je reviens dans ce lieu de damnation pour les papilles. Les cookies sont énormes mais ils sont trop vite mangés … un vrai régal

Pocas veces en la vida uno de encuentra con algo que le sorprenda tanto, aun siendo advertido de antemano de la exquisitez de estas galletas… Son simplemente imprescindibles en NY, la de oatmeal con raisin, o la de chocolate… No sé, aún salivo al pensar n ellas, recomiendo pasar por harlem a probarlas… Cogerlas e irse, porque no tienen ni una mesa dentro, es un takeaway.

Meilleur cookie jamais mangé ! Passage obligatoire à chaque séjour à New York City ! Personnel avec le sourire ! Quelques tabourets pour être assit mais le mieux est de l’emporter et le savourer dans Central Park !

Meilleurs cookies de ma vie…
Faut vraiment avoir l’oeil pour trouver l’entrée (surtout que c’est tout petit), mais ça vaut le détour !
Quelque chose comme 170 grammes de cookie pour 4 $. Au chocolat ou raisin. Excellentissime.
Ils font aussi du café et des sandwich, tout ça de façon très artisanale.
À essayer d’urgence !
