I went in to see these guys to have my hair cut the other day. The last place I went to I was not happy with the job they did so I thought I would try somewhere new for me. Boris did an amazing job and I walked out of the shop feeling a million bucks! I will definitely be coming back and recommending them to everyone I know. Thanks guys!

Been going to Level 2 for half a year now since I moved to NYC. First barbershop of 5 I’ve tried in the city that has the right aesthetic and understanding. The guys are cool and great at their craft. Ambience is original. The stylists as exceptional. Prices are right. I stick to Sher strictly as he gets exactly the look I’m trying to build and never falls short. He takes his time and makes you feel completely at ease. The man is talented. Best barbershop in the UES in my opinion. Number one in my books. Massoud

Tried a bunch of places before finding this one. Boris gives the best cuts on the UES.

Had a great cut here for the first time. Super courteous and very attentive. With so many options for cut, it is important to trust the hands on your head. Any of the pros in the shop can make you look sharp and feel like a million bucks(even though you saved many dollars). Highly recommend.

Great place! Sher is the man. I asked for a haircut from a picture which was not easy. He interpreted it perfectly. This is my new place from now on.

Great job guys, you cut my hair so well, I’ll probably never have to go for another haircut again, but if I do… It’ll be here! Thanks Nick.

First and foremost, I’m much pickier than most dudes. Don’t know why, but it’s hard for me to find a barber that I like and trust. I had a great experience at level two and I’ll be coming back to see Sher soon. I’ve also gotten cut there 3 times by another female stylist who’s great too. Sher gave me a great fade that I kept a little longer on top. Very happy with the cut and the service

Before I found out about this shop I’ve been getting my hair traumatized monthly in NYC. Sher was my barber and he was extremely polite, professional and attentive. He would check with you at every major step before he proceeds to make sure he gets it right. Because the shop is small, the wash won’t be the most comfortable washing experience you’ve ever had. Still, they try very hard and you have to appreciate that.

Boris, the owner is the best. Great cuts, never too crowded, cheap fare. Great option for a cut

Great price, great service and best of all a great haircut. Boris knows what he’s doing, no joke. Only takes cash, but well worth it. Update: I’ve had my hair cut by Boris 3 times. Very accommodating and always precise.

This place is a hidden gem! I stumbled across Level II the first week I moved to NYC — almost two years ago — and haven’t gone anywhere else since. Over the course of my two years going to Level II I’ve had 4 – 5 different barbers cut my hair and everyone of them has done a fantastic job. I have thicker hair that I style into a combover, not the easiest haircut and one that other barber shops often mess up. Not Level II. Lately, I’ve been having Sher cut my hair and he does a great job every time. High attention to detail, friendly, well-priced and I always end up with a perfect haircut. My advice, if you don’t know how to articulate what you want just bring a picture and show the barber and you’ll be good to go. If you’re looking for a new barbershop, or even if you’re not, give this place a try. Highly, highly recommended!

UPDATE — Came back to Level Two all the way from Denver to get a decent cut! These guys still have the magic touch. Sher cut my hair on 12⁄7. First time I got a cut from him and I was very happy with his service. He not only followed the directions I told him but was very intuitive about my hair’s needs and gave me a personalized cut that reduced my frizz problem and took care of my double-crown situation. All of them are very talented. I’d definitely come back again to have Sher give me a cut. Prices went up to $ 23 for a cut, when it used to be $ 20, but I suppose it’s still worth it.

Fantastic cut. Came from Alabama for an interview and was very nervous to get my hair cut by a barber I didn’t know. Nick was very patient and took off just a little at a time at my request. At the end I took a shot of bourbon with the owner to celebrate a job well done. Highly recommended

This a friendly inexpensive talented neighborhood barber shop. They quickly make you feel like a member of their family and give a great haircut too. The shop is clean the staff is friendly and experienced. I would recommend this place to anyone in need of a haircut. Ask for Boris he’s been cutting my hair for a while and I won’t let anyone else touch my head.

Found them on Unilocal and was looking for a place that could do a hard part and fade like my award winning barber back home in LA. It’s been a long journey. Went to xrtremecuts, sub-image in Chinatown, some popular joint in east village, and a neighborhood barber in UWS. Nobody could get it right like I got it back home. I was gonna give up on real skilled barbers that can give the right blend of hip and style that I am used to. I called Level Two and and asked if they were open to walk-ins. They were taking walk-ins. Arrived 45 min later to Sher waiting for me. He sat me down and asked me how I wanted my hair done and I went into the specifics: combover with a hard part, faded on the sides and tapered in the back. Problem was that my back grows wild and it’s been a challenge to everyone cutting. Asian hair is not easy to cut for most barbers here in the city. It seems their skill set hits a bamboo ceiling too! Long story short, Sher killed it. He had started not long ago at level two but he is a good pick up for them. Definitely a first round pick barber. He cleaned my sides and rounded out the top like no other barber gave before. Super clean. He trimmed the back and manipulated it so I didn’t need to bust a ton of product to prevent my «Dennis the menace”-hair salute in be back. Now there was a Unilocal deal for a free wash for checking in. After using a straight edge to clean the sides and hard part, I got a hot towel, hair wash, and style with wax. Then the best part: the price. All that for $ 23! Tip I won’t disclose but if you tip, you guys should be generous(25% for the extra stuff).

Clean place for a clean cut! Boris does great work. Hot towel scalp massages are the best! Great price for a professional cut. Real style, not an old man chop. Highly recommend.

I’ll start by saying the usual: first review on Unilocal ever, and for good reason — this place is hands down the best barber when you consider their price point. I made a big mistake of going to a barber in Chinatown with great reviews on Unilocal for $ 8. I should have known to avoid it, as they seriously screwed up my hair. After moving to the Upper East Side, I found the Level Two Barber Shop. The haircut took roughly 15 minutes and although I was rather vague with how I wanted my hair to be fixed, the barber(I’m sorry, forgot his name) immediately understood and fixed it so nice that I had to write a review literally 5 minutes right after the haircut. To top things off, after the haircut the barber(pictured) offered me a welcome shot of bourbon as it was my first time there. I’m definitely going back, and if you’re contemplating going here, just stop right now and GO — it is the best decision you’ll make. THANKYOU!
