Jack scanned and digitized my deceased mother’s art portfolio. He vastly improved the yellowing, withering originals and brought new life to them. He is a wonderful craftsman with a good eye for detail and composition. He is efficient and delivers when he says he will, and he is also very accommodating and pleasant to work with.

I had a very good experience when I came to print headshots from digital file. The photo-technician had checked my photo, suggested some digital improvements as he noticed that picture was out of focus. I received printed photos within 15 minutes and thankful for the prompt service and reasonable prices.

I only had retouching done, but they did a great job fixing up some pretty bad damage to a photo that was over 20 years old. The service was quick and friendly, and I was kept informed of each part of the process.

Convenient to many trains(23rd St Sixth Ave line, 23rd St B’way line) Excellent work Reasonable prices Fast turnaround I bring all my color film here after having used several other, larger labs in town. The work is excellent. They dip and dunk the film, so there’s much less chance for scratching or otherwise harming the film. They are fast, inexpensive, and they don’t send their overflow work to another lab(as one of their competitors down the street does). I’ve only had one problem with them in the hundreds of rolls that they processed for me, and that is when they did not read one of my instructions that they had typed onto the work order. The manager called me immediately to apologize. This is a very modest place – they make pictures here and nothing else. Nowhere to sit, just a couple of large light tables to check your films on. Like Alex, I hope L&I stays in business forever.

I typically go to Duane Reade which has pretty good quality at a budget price. But I came here looking for better quality and service after reading the reviews on Unilocal. And was I ever disappointed! And just noticed that all reviews are at least 6 months old. And we all know how quickly NYC establishments can change, for better or for worse. Bottom line — i got amateur service and amateur quality at professional prices. Also, they mentioned(clearly on Unilocal) 20% student discount but alas they do not offer this as «they are already discounted below student discount prices». What a bunch of BS. I’ll be sticking to Duane Reade next time.

I hope L&I stays in business forever. I really do. In the day of digital, it’s hard to find a good lab that has such a wide array of services. I did Fuji Velvia C-6 and Fuji 160C C-41 development with them. Quality is great, service is fast(within 3 hours), you can customize the parameters and they will do virtually everything you need. Drum scans, prints, retouching, etc. L&I does it all. Conveniently located in the heart of the Manhattan«photo district». The prices are reasonable too.

Personal service and fast delivery. I had a few rolls of chromes to develop for class and they gave me a student discount. They are really personable & the services are all I need. They cross processed my E-6 to C-41, normally developed my chromes & I will use their services to get my print film done. I didn’t have to put a rush on my jobs because they get them done right away and correctly.

Got two rolls of fuji neopan 1600 professional processed and got prints for both rolls– 35 dollars total and the job was done in a little more than 24 hours. Everything came out looking lovely. The staff was very quick and efficient– what else could a New Yorker ask for?

Walked by this place on Saturday when I was in dire need of some digital prints and was so pleased to find that they took me on the spot, offered me a good deal and returned high quality prints, all at a moment’s notice. The pleasant staff offered me many options for printing choices, and had friendly(and helpful) chit-chat while I waited. Would highly recommend for all pros, as well as casual photographers.

I tried alot of bigger labs. I met alot of assholes at those places too. I don’t shoot mega budget spreads these days, and even if I did, I wouldn’t send my assistant to Baboo either. L&I is down-to-earth, no-bullshit kinda place. The chemistry is right and they have my stuff ready on-time. Those are the ONLY2 things a lab should be held to. I don’t bump into Joyce Tennyson there, but she hasn’t made a fresh image in 20 years. Being a big shot is overrated.
