Clipped plenty of overgrown nails on friend’s dogs over the years until they were manageably shaved down over time and friends could take it from there.
Always clipped my own dogs nails as necessary.
Then our newly fostered, er, now adopted, Grumpy Old Bitch was having none of it and I made her bleed from her severely curled dew claw nails while she snapped, snarled, & cried.
And I felt HORRIBLE!
Called Lisa, went by, and she had the (very loveable, actually) Grumpy Old Bitch’s nails clipped with no fuss or muss in minutes.
Grumpy Old Bitch didn’t even know it had happened.
All without a warning snap, much less a snarl or cry!

Oh thank goodness for Lisa! After having such an awful experience at other groomers in the neighbourhood we were so happy to find her. She clearly loves her job and was so sweet and caring towards my dogs, and she knows how to do a proper ship tzu haircut! We will be going here from now on.

Never thought I would come across a groomer so in love with her job and shows it by being tentative and catering to my cat’s personality but also with the products she stands behind.
My first visit to Lisa’s cute, dainty little salon was during the weekend. She welcomed us warmly and was very attentive to «WHAT I WANTED» keeping my cats fur looking beautiful and not being chopped away. I left my cat with Lisa and was shortly contacted 1 – 2 hr. wait time to come pick up my cat. When my cat was returned I fell in love with the style, Lisa did an amazing job at keeping his natural look but at the same time my cat was no longer a shedding hair ball machine.
Pricing: I believe to be fair.
I even had ordered the anti — shedding product that she recommended but was not available at the time of service. But when it did arrive, Lisa was so kind to hand deliver the product to my front door!

I found Lisa on Google and decided to try her out based on her reviews. She did NOT disappoint! Our appointment was for 9:30 am I got there at 9 she told me exactly 2 hours and in exactly 2 hours my pup was ready! She did a great job with him he looks so cute! Her shop is small but cozy and she is very very friendly. As far as her prices I guess I would say reasonable. She charged me $ 20 more than what I would have paid at Pet Resources in the Bronx but the service she provided is well worth the extra $ 20 and she did not cut or hurt my dog. You can tell Lisa is a professional that truly loves what she does and I will definitely be returning in 4 months time for his next cut.

Lisa grooms my Cavvy and she does a wonderful job. She is incredibly sweet and you can tell she loves the dogs. She will give you tips on how to try to take care of grooming at home, and if you need a quick nail-​clip in between groomings, you can stop by for that too. The shop is nice and clean, and has a large picture window in front so all the work done is visible to any passersby.
Great job, nice person, and nice people working there.

Lisa was very professional and kind when I walked in with my new favorite furry friend. She got to work immediately (before my pup even realized her nails were being clipped) and gave some great tips. Her location is cute and convenient.

Lisa is an artist. She did a great job with my dog. She didn’t take a very long time. Her prices were reasonable as well. I love that her shop is in my Harlem neighborhood.

Awesome! Very attentive to your wants & your baby’s needs! As soon as you enter her establishment, there is an immediate bond between her and your baby. She talks to you as if you were her long time friend. Very warming. Made me feel so comfortable and overall that is what was the most important to me. She’s lends her acknowledgement of animals and tells you what’s necessary and what’s not. She doesn’t try to oversell her services. She works right out in the open, which in itself is great! She groomed my baby exactly how I wanted! Price quoted, was exactly what I paid! There was no surprise charges when I arrived. Lisa goes out of her way to make sure you are not only happy but satisfied w/​her services! She does what ever last alterations to your desire (if necessary) before leaving the premises! And if that’s not enough, for what ever reason when you get home and are not pleased, she insist that you bring them back for what ever adjustments to the style to your liking! I will continue to bring my baby to Lisa for as long as she is around and I am hoping that’s for the life of me!

So this weekend my girlfriend and I brought our Havanese mix to Lisa, with a bit of trepidation. The last groomer we brought him to burned him and never was able to provide us an explanation as to why.
Lisa made us feel very relaxed and relieved. The fact that she grooms the dogs in plain sight put me at ease. Her knowledge and years of experience helped me feel like we made the right decision. However, it was Lisa’s personality and nature that garnered my trust. Her ability to look you right in the eye and be a straight shooter is rare these days in NYC, and even more rare in our experience with groomers. Lisa even spent 45 minutes talking with us after she groomed DT, as if we had been friends for years. I cannot stress how much of a rarity and gem Lisa is.
Personality aside, Lisa delivered on the product. His haircut was amazing. Lisa even treated his burn, which she didn’t have to do. Without a doubt, we will be back with DT. We’ll also probably find a way to get some sort of service for our Frenchie.

Here’s why she’s five stars:
— Fast: with our small dog, a Havanese, usually without matting problems, it’s an hour and a half. Our dog doesn’t hang out in a crate all day.
— Clear: Lisa is very clear about what she is going to do and does it. I guess that makes her professional, also.
— Very pleasant: nice manner, no drama, no hassle.
— Relatively inexpensive: near the low end of NYC (or at least Manhattan) groomers.

First of all let me say Lisa is the best, the best of the best. I have lived all over the world Lomdon, Paris, Geneve, Hong Kong, Beverly Hills. Rarely do you come across a person more knowledgeable in their craft and truly caring about the fur family members they groom. I trust only her in Manhattan with my boys, two retired racing Greys and the love of my life my three pound teacup poodle. I could use anyone anywhere, I choose Lisa hands down above the rest.

Just had my two pups groomed at Lisa’s. She is wonderful with them. My two pups looked so good that I couldn’t wait to squeeze them. Lisa is very kind and gentle with the dogs and also patient. If you are looking for a great groomer Lisa is my pick.

Lisa is the best groomer I’ve ever met. Unlike most groomers in New York, Lisa cares about he product, and by that I mean not just the welfare of the dog, but aesthetics. This is not a bargain groom (although it may be priced as such) or some Pet-​Co spectacular, Lisa has an exceptional ability to see the animal as a canvas. Like a good hair stylist, she looks at the dog and understands the cut and styling details that can enhance the animal’s inherent beauty — how to taper the eyebrows just so, or where to angle the scissors just so when trimming the tail for that added flair. etc… Most groomers just cut a dog’s hair to some approximation of a standard model, but Lisa understands the extra details that can make a dog beautiful.
She is located in Harlem on Bradhurst Avenue. I drive more than one hour (and wait for 2 –3 hours) from my home in Brooklyn to have Lisa groom my miniature schnauzer. Once Lisa grooms your dog, and if you care about aesthetics, no other groomer will suffice.
Personally I believe that Lisa should be working the show circuit as her skill and technical expertise are way beyond any comparable groom at any comparable price.
Although Lisa is located in Harlem, I have been told that she will soon be offering a pick up and delivery service in the Upper East and Upper West Sides.

Lisa is amazing! I am so happy to have found her again, my dog, Gizmo who is a Lhasa Apso weighing in at 15 pounds, was a bit matted and she did a fabulous job, shaving him down evenly. He looks great!
I would definitely recommend this groomer to all, she is a blast to talk to, and she has a great energy with animals, very calm :). All in all fantastic groomer!

I found Lisa through Unilocal.She had great reviews and she was closer to me than the previous groomers I used. Zoe was due for grooming. Last time she went was in February. She was shaved down so low, you could see her pink skin. I was afraid to get her groomed again, afraid I would be told she’s too matted and that she needed to be shaved down. I called Lisa on a Friday around 11am. She said to bring Zoe in around 3 to evaluate her. I did and I left Zoe there. There were other doggies before her, so I knew it would take her a while. She does it all alone. She asked me questions about how short I wanted her. I told her about my previous experience and how I was afraid to get her short again. She understood and worked with my concerns. My favorite part? She does it right in front of the store, so all passerby sees her working. She is so passionate and amazing at what she does. Zoe was so soft and looked amazing. Yes, it takes a while, but it is worth it. She is magical! I took a candid picture of her working on Zoe. They (Lisa and Zoe) had no clue I was outside. 1. First things first, Lisa is a superb person, great personality, really easy to talk to, very personable. That’s the first thing you’ll notice about her when first making the appointment over the phone.
2. She grooms her dogs right in the store front, no hiding how she treats your pet in the back.
3. She took her time with my dog, she’s very attentive to each individual dog, she has a PASSION for doing this, you can just tell by her work, if you don’t believe me just stand in front of her store and observe. She also gave my dog breaks to drink water and to go poop/​pee.
4. There’s usually parking outside and she charged $ 100 for my 28 lb Goldendoodle.
5. She does cats as well.

New to the area, my pup had not been groomed the entire winter. His usual groomer is in Queens and since the move, it’s been impossible to get there with the crazy winter we had. I touched/​groomed my pup up myself (not the best job). Now that spring is here, my pup needed a hair cut.
I found Lisa’s shop on a long walk in the neighborhood. I Unilocaled her shop and the reviews were great. I decided my pup and I would make a visit to ensure it was a good match (helicopter Mom alert). Lisa was very pleasant, answered all my questions, listened to my concerns and reassured me that my pup would be fine. She even had a client in the shop (a huge cat) and still gave me her undivided attention. Still hesitant, I didn’t book right away. Two days later I called and asked for an early Saturday morning appointment. Lisa, based on my conversation told me No. She heard all my concerns before and knew that with a full schedule my pup would be overwhelmed. That sealed the DEAL. She listened to my concerns in our prior conversation and suggested I bring him in on a Sunday. He’ll be her first client.
Lisa is PATIENT and CARES. She did a great job with my pup and I’m sure we’ll be returning. I’m very pleased with Lisa’s work and her attention to detail. My pup looks great!

Lisa is amazing. Not just because she is professional and clean, but because she has such and amazing knowledge base that she openly shares and communicates with her patrons.
My 4 year Cocker and Miniature Schnauzer were just groomed by her last weekend and she spent adequate time and explained to me she didn’t want to rush (which is completely fine with me!)
She showed me where past groomers had made mistakes with my dogs dense coat and remedies to make him look his «Best in show!»
Overall I’m thrilled and very satisfied with Lisa’s work and talent and will be going back with both of my dogs because I no longer trust anyone else putting their clippers on my dogs.

My and my Oscar love going to see Lisa. She is the sweetest lady and she is soooo good with my little guy. Very reasonable prices and speedy service. We were in and out in an hour. Oscar is very finicky when it comes to his feet but Lisa was able to get his nails trimmed without my assistance… this is a first for me with any groomer. I will definitely be coming back here as long as I’m in Manhattan and I highly recommend you give her a try too!
