Particularly recommend the $ 8 house chianti, the ragu and the nutella filled donuts. Delicious and laid back!!!

Cozy spot to grab a high-quality pizza. We ordered the Luzzo’s BK. It was good — although I think the truffle made it oily so I felt like I had oil all over my face/hands. We also ordered a side of broccoli rabe, which I just added to my Luzzo BK — yum! Plus, we finished the evening with tiramisu — definite yum!

Very nice ambiance, and friendly staff. The pizza was really, really good, but that’s what my friend ordered. I got the pasta with roasted cauliflower, and brussel sprouts. Not roasted. Never near an oven. No char.

Fantastic pizza, great wine and an amazing atmosphere. Good for a romantic dinner or a trendy spot to stop in while hopping.

Great pizza, great place, great people. Had the pleasure to eat here a few weeks ago. The food was good, the drinks were good. The brick oven pizza is on of the best I have ever had. I am from Brooklyn born and raised. I would have to say best brick oven pizza in Brooklyn

This is a really cute neighborhood pizza place. It’s got brick walls and high top tables in the front, along with a small but quite well stocked bar. We came here for lunch on a Sunday, and it was my first time having pizza in Brooklyn. We started with a spinach salad to feel less guilty about the pizzas. Pizzas: 1. Nonna luisa: tuna sounded a bit odd, but it worked well with the pickled peppers, which were the highlight. This is a very interesting pizza 2. Luzzo’s BK: more traditionally what I would order — truffle, proscuitto. The crust was super thin but held up nicely and was perfect for folding 3. Battilocchio: a more interested oval shaped, thicker crust breakfast pizza topped with two eggs. This one was very rich but interesting to try at brunch Service was friendly, and I appreciate that they have lots of coat and purse hooks for the high top tables.

Great little pizza place. Most recently ordered a large truffle pizza, which was the perfect balance of truffle, cheese and sauce. The arugula salad wasn’t anything to write about, but the nice ambiance, service and prices more than made up for it. Would return a third time.

Yeah, Brooklyn has the best pizza. You already know this. You probably know the«named» locations too. You can probably get into them if you know someone or wait a few hours. Thankfully you can experience amazing pizza and overall Italian fare, in a great and friendly environment without that type of hassle. Enter Luzzos BK. There is a dimly lit dining room in the front and a small ‘hidden’ open air, but covered from the rain, backyard. We always go out back with the family and the staff is so friendly and super attentive. It doesn’t hurt that they give you some yummy breadsticks(think Cosi-like) while you’re waiting for your meal. It certainly is a hit with the kids! The speciality cocktails are excellent and a decent size — serious skills at the bar! I love tequila so the fast break is a lightly spicy treat(served up). You’re in for a treat, though not inexpensive, certainly a note worthy and consistent meal! The staff and the pizza will keep us coming back for more.

This is good pizza. And in almost any other city, this would be the best in town. But in New York, it’s maybe the third best on its street. I like that the margarita isn’t overly greasy, mostly due to the large sauce-to-cheese ratio, but a bit more basil would be welcomed. The crust is of the charred variety, which happens to be my jam. But they’re not coming close to touching Lucali’s dough perfection. Service is super friendly, but it’s just not enough to bring me back.

It took me a number of years in the neighborhood to finally make it out to Luzzo’s, I think it had mostly to do with their prices and the fact that I’m actually closer to Lucali’s. I’m glad I finally make it out because Luzzo’s makes fantastic pizza(I’m sure their pasta is good too). Their wood burning brick oven is in full view unless you’re sitting in their back patio, the ambience is nice and a good date night place. My fiancé and I split a couple of their personal sized(12″) pizzas. Prices for the 12″ pizzas are shockingly high at mostly $ 18 – 21. $ 7 for a bottle of Peroni(the least expensive of the few beer options) was no bargain either. We split a sausage and their signature option which comes with«tomato sauce, mozzarella, speck, fresh ricotta, truffle paté». Both pizzas had the ideal light and chew to the dough with the proper charring and delicate crust to it. There was no truffles or pâté visable on the second pizza but there was a definite truffle oil flavor, there was a bit of brown speckling to the pizza, not sure if this was some sort of pâté dust. Regardless the spec and ricotta was excellent. The sauce wasn’t as bright and fresh as I like but it wasn’t a distraction. Overall we were both very pleased with the pizzas.

This was a surprisingly fantastic Pizza place. It’s coal oven pizza with real authentic Napolese style. We came and had the Saturday Brunch menu and tried the Pizza Uova E Tartufo. It has Mozzarella, Eggs Sunny-Side Up and Black Truffle Pâté. Mmm it hit the spot after coming out of a long move. Everything was fresh made to order. We also tired the Carbonara which was Spaghetti with Pancetta, Eggs, Pecorino and Fresh Black Pepper. I love the texture of a properly made pasta dish and this was pretty well up there with any I’ve had. Will have to come back.

Luzzo, you astound me. The carbonara was rich, filling, al dente, creamy(from the cracked egg). I could have had this all for myself. I bet they make a killer cacio de pepe.(I will have to try and let you know). The pizza had a light crispy Rome-pizza-like crust. The toppings of cheese and truffle pâté were delightful. And we suspect we saw Ebon Moss-Bachrach chilling with the owner and Ebon’s two girls. Everyone was watching the football game on the tube. Good times.

My friend and I were looking for some pizza on a Monday night, and when Fornino in Brooklyn Bridge Park happened to be closed, we walked up Atlantic Avenue to Luzzo’s BK. It was a gorgeous, warm pre-summer night around 6:30pm, and though the restaurant was empty when we walked in, we were excited by the menu and the table in the open front window. It seems we started something, because about ten other groups of people walked in during our meal. There were some issues with the restaurant’s refrigerator that night, so the only items available were the pastas and pizzas, which was fine with us. We started with some cocktails and enjoyed the people watching on Atlantic while eating. I loved the Mushroom Ravioli($ 18) in a light cream sauce. And my friend really liked the Margharita pizza($ 16). This will become a new neighborhood standby in my book!

Had my fiancé’s birthday dinner here with 10 friends and Antonio the manager was so gracious and accommodating. We ordered about 5 pies and some appetizers and wine. Everything was wonderful. Many people in our party said the pizza was the best they ever had. Will be back for sure, maybe a birthday tradition is in the works!

After recently moving to Brooklyn Heights I knew I had to make a stop for dinner at Luzzo’s BK after hearing such great things about it. The space is super cute and nicely decorated. The salad appetizer was so yummy, with arugula and Parmesan cheese. Then for the main reason we stopped in– the pizza, very tasty, you could definitely taste the quality of the cheese and olive oils that were used. The owner even greeted us and welcomed us to the neighborhood which was so sweet, even carried on a nice conversation. We will definitely go back or even order in, they have many delivery guys/bikes that we see all over town!

Amazing experience tonight at Luzzo’s BK. We had a birthday dinner party for 10 people. When I called to inquire about the possibility of accommodating a party the owner was incredibly responsive and immediately gave us options for a prefix. He was very courteous and communicative in the email exchange. The chef and hostess came out to greet us upon arrival, and the hostess could not have been more graceful and attentive when assisting us in setting up the table with flowers and balloons. Service was excellent and we were very well taken care of throughout the meal. The food was fresh, made with excellent ingredients and tasted delicious. There was ample food for each person and everyone in the party had a wonderful time. This restaurant is clearly being run with a lot of pride, passion, and love.

There are several of things I like about this Luzzo’s: They make a decent Sazerac. The atmosphere is pleasant, and even romantic. The pizza is excellent(love the tartufata, the margherita, and the diavola).* This location is far closer to my apartment than the one in Manhattan. What I really loved about this joint was the happy hour. Unfortunately, they discontinued it for now, but they’ve still got well above average pies with their signature thin and chewy crust. This makes me happy. _____________ *Although, it might not even be the best pizza on this stretch of Atlantic.

If the pizza were as salty as the people who work here, the pizza would be VERYSALTY!!! I placed an order for one large pizza at 7:35 on a Friday evening and I was quoted the pizza would arrive in 45 – 60 minutes. At 60 minutes I called: «The pizza is leaving right now» No. It was not. The entire pizza eating world understands that it takes no more than THIRTEENMINUTES to cook a pizza. Was this a magic pizza? Did somebody buy this pizza from the same guy who sold Jack his beanstalk beans??? At 1hr, 15min, I called again: «the pizza is going into the oven» Again, no es verdad. Es falso. We wait for le pizze. All is lost.

Every New Yorker has an opinion on good pizza. And every New Yorker loves to talk about their favorite pizza joint. Yes, Di Fara, go there. Yes, Lombardi’s, go there. Yes, Grimaldi’s, go there. Yes, Paulie Gee, go there. Yes, Roberta’s, go there. Yes, Totonno’s, go there. Yes, Lucali, go there. Yes, Luzzo’s BK, go there. Luzzo’s is among the top pizza places in New York. A good pizza, is well like ecstasy. All the endorphins that are released is equivalent to a really good stretchy bendy yoga class. Sorry, I know, I am hippie like that. My date and I came here on a cold weeknight around 9pm. We got a table immediately and they let us sit at a 4-top booth even though there was only 2 of us. Good sales move. We opted to get some house wines($ 8/glass), be warned they are not DOC or IFT-certified. We ordered the arugula, candied walnuts, blue cheese salad for starters. Excellent. It helped to whet the appetite for the main course. We shared a 16 inch fungi pizza. You can get pizzas that are either 12 or 16 inches. Since we were hungry, we got the bigger one. The pizza was perfect. Nice, chewy crust and just plain good. I recommend stopping by if you are in this neck of the woods. You will not be disappointed. I know we were not and we went out into the cold, belly full, inebriated and immensely satisfied.

After a pleasant but not particularly satisfying couple of pies at Fornino in Brooklyn Bridge Park, we thought it would be a good idea to do a Pizza/Pizza Bang-Bang(Louis CK anyone?) to end the night on a good note. I’m glad we did it, because Luzzo’s makes some of the best pies in the city. I’m not so sure it should’ve won that Best Pizza bracket on Eater last year(as they proudly display), but it sure is excellent. To cleanse our palates from the previous pizzas, we started with the Polpettine($ 11 for 3). These were pretty delicious, and were a welcome way to start the meal over the usual salads and charcuterie. Since we already had two pies, we also figured we would switch it up a bit and tried the Orecchiette with Sausage and Broccoli Rabe($ 17). This is a really delicious version of the classic pasta dish and is a great mid-course before the pizza main event. For the pizza, we went the small Diavola(12 inch pie for $ 18), and it was amazing. Piping hot, it was some of the best Neapolitan style pizza you could ask for in NY. The crust was nice and chewy, with a bit of crispiness. It was fluffy and had some real substance and made you make sure you finished every last bite of the sometimes passable crust. The place itself is very nice too, with excellent service from the waitstaff and the efficient busboys. The menu is extensive with tons of great choices — I would definitely return to try one of the great«A Frusta» items that I had at the Manhattan location, which are amazing.
