I ended up having my party here Saturday night. I thought the price was right($ 100 to reserve a section) which was a table and some couches. I knew the DJ who did my GF’s party and he set the whole thing up. I thought great what could go wrong? Well the DJ was a no show for starters, I had been in contact with«The manager Amy» and was not told that there would be a switcheroo. The guy who was there didn’t seem to know what he was doing and the music was all over the place. The place was dark, dingy and had a musty odor. There was random seedy characters(2 girls and a guy) making out in the area that was reserved for my party. They were getting quite frisky until my cousin asked them to leave. The drinks were«extremely watered down» and over priced. Everyone in my party complained of this. When brought to the bartender’s attention she was rude and refused to fix it, even though she received a generous tip. With that being, said my party still sprung for bottles of Moet to try and salvage the night(at least those weren’t watery). I am not a heavy drinker by any means, but I have had better drinks at local restaurants. More like a seedy brothel than a lounge. Not even worth the $ 100.

Came here about a week ago with my boyfriend. Very laid back experience. excellent hookah. Bar gets busy &the guys sometimes can’t keep their hands to themselves(kept this trivia from my boyfriend. Didn’t want him to flip out) Great music selection, no craziness, good drinks, romantic décor, intimate setting. What more could one ask for? Don’t ask me what it costs… I was treated, lol. Had a wonderful time

Genuine, pink themed, velvety seedy dive with lots of character… Walk down the stairs and take your chances from there… Forensics would have a field day here… but at least the hipsters have stayed away… Sexy in a slutty way, dark in a dangerous way, timeless in a good way… Authentically NYC… with bumps in the night… and probably the bathroom… …cool spot, amongst a growing plastic perimeter of consumer driven food and drink factories replete with replicants…

Keep a close eye when you use your bank card to buy drinks, Had a awkward moment paying a bill. I use to come down from the Bronx to check the place out. Last time I set foot in that place.

I stumbled upon Madame X on Saturday night and bwoy let me tell ya I was pleasantly surprised. Its a small venue but the music was popping and the crowd was dancing all night long lol. They have a area in the back where you can smoke hookah and have dinner. I would definitely visit this spot again if Im in the city.

I love this place its very lay back, cozy and romantic. It gets packed on the weekends but during the week its not as much. Drinks are well made and not water down. I do like how diverse the music is here, they do play pretty much everything which is great. This place has a lot of couches to sit around to relax, drink and enjoy the music.

Hmm, what to say about Madame X… This place was pretty strange. I expected a lounge style environment going into it and it definitely delivered in that sense, but it was next to empty. Also, there were a few couples in the back that seemed to be getting a little more intimate than they should in public on the couches. Which led me to wonder how often this place is cleaned. We didn’t stay for very long because it was empty and the drinks were kind of weak for the high price-tag.

We thought this place was a strip club and were looking for a bar for drinks and talking. The bartender was nice enough to let us in even though they didn’t open for another 30 min. Fairly memorable experience here. It was empty, but service was good, prices for drinks were reasonable, and we enjoyed ourselves. Not sure if I’m used to this sort of atmosphere, I guess we need to see if when it in its full-blown loungey glory, but overall a good time. I would make a trip back if I was in the area.

Love this place. Nice atmosphere. Very chill. Has a garden in the rear. Music is great and not too loud so you can hold a conversation with the person next to you. The bartender is a sweetheart.

It was a sexy Summer Saturday night in the city. And the only things on my mind were drinks and memorable fun – meaning not too many drinks. With an unlimited list of bars and lounges somehow we, me and my buddy Erica, wound up at the sometimes beautifully chill, sometimes reserved-table-pretentious, been-there-forever-bar Madame X. At the bar, we talked about her soon-to-be marriage, the amazing DJ of this Saturday night party that maintains a $ 5 cover, how great Unilocal is to waive that $ 5 cover at check-in, needing water for the sugary sweet cocktails we nursed, the bartender who ignored us, the coupled-up patrons in dire need of a quickie hotel room, ordering or NOT ordering shots, and the tall, dark and handsome that kept bumping into me at the bar. I don’t know if it was the red light ambience of Madame X, my stubborn sobriety coupled with a lack of energy to fight or fondness at first sight, but for some reason I couldn’t be angry at his adolescent playfulness. And after a conversation in Madame X’s backyard, I realized he’s intelligent, but like most men clueless when it comes to talking to women at the bar.
My friend and I were there till the end of our night and I got the feeling that no one sits on the couches for bottle service. Not the drunks who dance around the tables. Not the regulars. Not the early-bird-saving-money-for-college folks like me that hold on to a bar stool. And certainly not anyone smart enough to know that Madame X is where you have one drink and a two-step.

I went to Madame X about 2 weeks ago, shoutout to Unilocal for waiving my cover fee when I checked in. There’s a bar, a nice sitting area with dim lighting. the reggae party was going down upstairs. Let me tell you! It honestly felt like walking into Jamaica. Smell of inscents everywhere, dancehall, afrobeat, reggae… everyone’s dancing, vibing out to the music. Only problem is how small the dancefloor is. It was hot, to the point where I almost felt like I was suffocating sometimes but then again what party doesn’t feel like that? The drinks were expensive but it’s comes with the location. I’d go back.

This place is weird. The crowd is a mix of white trash and ghetto hood rats. Music was just noise and Unmemorable. Place is dirty. Old dingy couches covered in filth. Setup is also awkward it looks like a used fruniture store sales floor. Wtf?

The DJ here made this place. He was playing hip hop hits from the late 90s and early aughts. The bar here is, well, a bar and a lounge. It’s the kind of bar you know is going to get crazy with lots of young people late night drinking and loudness, etc. There is an overall tackiness to everything in the bar. And by that I don’t mean unclassy, I mean literally sticky from hordes of young and drunk people that must be patrons of the place. I had two great manhattans here, however, so I can’t knock it too much. I mean, hell, four stars.

We came here after watching Birdman at the cinema down the street and wow talk about first impressions. The vibrant red light and NSFW décor was appealing, the seats were very comfortable at the back, they had a private seating area we used. The cocktails were great, I had a few Madame X’s. Great place for conversation, music by the dj was great and the décor is definitely a conversation starter. There’s an upstairs area for private parties which we briefly crashed. Great late night experience

Dropped by for a drink on a Friday around 4:00 pm and this place was completely empty; However, this place looks like complete and utter debauchery goes on in here. I’m a fan of that. Decorated like a cheap Parisian brothel. I hear from the bartender it gets pretty wild. Must return.

Don’t be jelly, I’m only being real. Madame X used to be a regular stop on late night benders in the Village. We’d start off somewhere else, but by 2:00 am we’d end up at Madame X. The waiter used to know us and when we sat down, he’d bring over a tray of shots and have one with us. I remember being here one time and watching a couple have sex upstairs in the open. Some chick hopped on top of a guy on the couch, lifted up her skirt and started grinding. You may stick to the furniture. You may dance on the tables. You may get tore up wasted. You may even have the time of your life. Just remember that you’re not going to be able to have a crazy night out anywhere else like you can at Madame X.

One thing I noticed when I first walked in is how dark it is. I wasn’t sure I’d recognize people I knew were attending the event I came here for. If you aren’t feeling too pretty on a given day, you’ll blend in just fine here. I also love that they have signs for the bathroom that say«The Loo.» They also have naked women painted on the walls & a nice little outdoor patio upstairs. The seating is truly unique, though. I love the couches and soft chairs here; it’s probably the most comfortable seating you’ll get in a lounge. The intimate feel in the décor was also very nice. I’d come again for a networking event.
