I used to shop here but hadn’t been for some time. Today went in and was hoping to buy a few pairs of shoes — but the man working at the register was really very rude. I was surprised and unfortunately left without even have been able to try them on. Stinks. Will find them on line instead. He just lost a customer.

This place is amazing! Small selection yes but they are very helpful and have a nice shoe selection. FYI most of their shoes are discounted at reasonable prices. I purchased a few pair of Toms and I will be back for round 2 shopping soon.

I used to go in here all the time. There was a male manager that was so friendly and he would go out of his way to get the sizes or help find something I was looking for and also pull shoes that I could try on. Today, I went in to buy shoes and there were two women working, texting on the phone ignoring customers. Annoyed if you asked a question. Even after I asked for a size, neither one asked to see if I wanted anything else. They seemed annoyed to work there. It’s a shame because small shoe stores need to be friendly otherwise they will be overrun by the big ones. The owner should make sure the staff is doing their job.

I’m a review behind for the April Challenge so here’s an extra review to get me back on track! I used to work around the corner from Make 10 so I passed by it constantly and occasionally popped by. Some of the shoes were pricier than what I wanted to spend, but the sales were quite impressive. I wouldn’t go out of my way to stop in there but if I were in the neighborhood, I would probably check out the current shoe selections.

I really like this shoe store. I used to go to their store in the East 50’s but it closed. They don’t have a huge selection but what they have is nice. The sales staff is friendly and if you buy more than one pair they give you a break on price. The only caveat is their return policy, store credit only and if you don’t have a dollar to dollar match, you get another store credit for like $ 5. Thankfully I usually love what I buy from here so I don’t worry about it too much.

I’m picky about boots. Picky, picky, picky. And so, when I decided that my well loved black leather boots couldn’t survive another season and needed a replacement, I set out on a search for something new. I searched high and low, from small boutiques and Marshall’s, and had given up hope when I stumbled upon a little place on the UES called Make 10. I honestly would have walked right past Make 10 if I hadn’t seen that ever-alluring phrase plastered across the windows. Ladies, you know what I’m talking about. Four little letters… S-A-L-E. So I dragged the guy I was with inside(fortunately he is good humored) and started perusing the selection. This may be a TINY little store, but there are BOOTSFORDAYS! And… the best news, every pair of shoes over $ 30 was an additional $ 10 off!(This was a few days ago, so not sure if the sale is still on currently…). There were only two people working there, and several other customers, but the service was excellent. Super friendly and willing to cater to my finicky shoe selection process. I ended up getting a pair of high black leather boots, which were already marked down to $ 58 from $ 120, and with the additional sale, I got away with them for only $ 48! In Manhattan?! Unheard of. Other shoes include Minnetonka moccasins, Frye cowboy boots, Anne Klein flats, sheepskin styled boots… nothing for men at this location, but I believe there is at their other stores.
