Worst worst worst experience ever! If you could avoid working with this firm you absolutely should. Yael was the broker we were working with and she was so incredibly unprofessional, terrible not to mention completely dishonest. Probably the the worst moving experience of my life and I will say there was absolutely no accountability on her part whatsoever. It was literally a horror story of Moving.

Stay away from all Refco apartments at Manhattan Flats at all cost! They are the worst landlord you can imagine, unresponsive to requests to fix broken things. When our Neighbour complained about a caved in and leaky ceiling, people from their management office were extremely rude and did nothing for a month. My Neighbour had to go to her mom’s house to take showers for a month.
I’m giving MF a 2 out of five because they eagerly work with such nasty landlords and no longer have my trust in their reputability.

Even though the UES 1 bedroom apartment was advertised as no-​fee, Manhattan Flats tried 3 times during the signing process to ask for a fee to «cover their costs». BS. I said no, nope, not happening and they backed off.
They work with horrible landlords and management companies. My landlord used Manhattan Flats to manage her property. My apartment ceiling busted open because the idiot upstairs left his hot water on for 3 days. My kitchen was flooded and mold eventually grew in the sheetrock in the ceiling. My landlord did nothing for the remaining 6 weeks I was in the apartment. I had to move across the country for a job transfer and my landlord (Irene Melikhov) did not return my security deposit. She took advantage of the fact that I am 3,000 miles away and that it would require some serious effort to 1) file a lawsuit in NYC and 2) collect payment + damages. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE.

I worked with the agents at manhattan flats they were very accommodating. They were willing to preview an apartment and send me pictures so I wouldn’t waist my time. Unlike most agency’s they don’t turn away people who can’t afford the 15% commission they are willing to work with you. I would highly recommend this agency.

Andi was our broker and Yael is our current manager. We were Immediately impressed with their hospitality and concern for us as we’ve made to move to New York smoother than anticipated.
When I accepted my job in lower Manhattan I had literally three weeks to find a place. My wife and I came out over a four-​day period of time and saw six brokers for the upper-​East. It was exhausting and as recent college graduates it was very frustrating finding that brokers were only interested in 3 to 6 months of our pay up front, As well as 15% broker fee. We went from being human only being the numbers and dealing with typical sales pitch 101 gimmicks as if we were ignorant children.
We told Andi or situation and immediately felt comfortable with her and trusted in how she dealt with us as well as knowing she would work with our situation. We saw six apartments quickly right the. And there… No agenda, they were all in our price range and relatively good locations.
Yael turned out to be the manager of the place where we signed on now and has been wonderful to us. One time I locked myself out of the apartment while I was trying to carry up boxes. She Jumped in made some calls and pulled some strings and found a way to get in without having to call a locksmith which was a lifesaver!

First and foremost, disregard the previous reviews!
I found a great studio in the Upper East Side through this broker company with the help of Slava. He was very courteous, professional and a great communicator. I’m not sure how the other brokers operate but ASK FOR HIM if you want to find an apartment through this business! I spoke with Yael briefly and she was anything but what the other reviews say. She was very polite and kept me informed on the status of my apartment application. The other ladies in the office were pleasant as well.
Also, Manhattan Flats is managed by Mautner-​Glick Corp., which is a very credible company.
I won’t say the entire process of looking for the apartment and locking it down was completely flawless, but overall I had a very good experience through this company. Namely, because of Slava!

Worst experience in NYC. Very rude and unprofessional.
The office manager Yael Avi-​David first took our money ($ 150 for credit check) for one apartment which was already taken that time by some other party. Later she was showing us some other apartment which was not matching our requirement and told one of my friend that one of us can live in the living room. Then she refused to pay our money back.
Funny is the description in their website — «Yael Avi-​David is an exceptionally professional yet a truly down to earth Real Estate expert.» Just the opposite!
Never ever ever go there.

Please avoid this place. I rented an apartment from them 2 years ago. They are just looking to rip you off from the getgo. And there is always some reason that they invoke to keep the security deposit which is why they advertise apartments at tantalising rates knowing very well that they will find a way to not pay you back for the security you will put up. My overall experience with these guys was positively miserable.

Brokers in NYC are a dime a dozen and I would recommend you do business with someone else. Personally, I think you can eliminate the use of brokers all together, there are great resources to finding an apartment. I would suggest if you have the time to seek out those resources and save yourself a lot of money. I was inconvenienced by Manhattan Flats and as soon as I changed my mind about an apartment was treated unkindly and they demanded I return to pay the $ 75 application fee which they should have collected prior to running a credit check. Their documents and business practices are very misleading. it takes a certain kind of person to be a broker and most are greedy and money hungry and fall short of any ounce of integrity.

SUPER SUPER shady. Scheduled a time to view a 2 bedroom apartment that was posted on craigslist by Yael – went to the apartment/​was supposed to meet her outside the building and, 15 minutes after the time we set up to meet, received a strange phone call from her telling me to buzz the apartment I was supposed to view – went inside and was shown the dumpiest apartment by Kobi (aka «a friend of Yael who was doing her a favor by showing the place and was unaware of the fact that the apartment he was showing was not the one pictured in the craigslist listing/​not even a 2 bedroom – after checking out the website, found out that he too works for this horrible company).
Yes, this happens a lot on craigslist, but the shady thing was that they never mentioned what company they were from (I had to google the phone number she called from). DON’T USE THESE PEOPLE!
