The store is closed for good. Closed as in not coming back. Empty store front with a ‘For lease’ sign. Their web site doesn’t say that, resulting in that we ended up having to lug a 46 lb package all the way to the FedEx terminal on W 49th between 11th and 12th ave. no fun on a hot day.
tldr: The store is out of business.

I shipped my golf clubs ahead of a trip to South Carolina for the holidays, paying $ 65 rather than pay whatever absurd fee the airline would have charged for an oversized bag. The employee at the desk was very helpful and double-​checked the address information before printing the label — and assured me the clubs would arrive by Thursday (I shipped them on a Saturday). They actually arrived a day early, and in perfect condition.

Had to ship an iMac across the country. They packaged it well and it was mailed and delivered on time. Shipping costs weren’t cheap but weren’t awful either.

I had to move out of New York quite urgently and signed up for a mailbox with these guys since I used to live in the neighborhood. While the service was nice and everything was going smoothly, I was very disappointed with my experience when it came to closing the account with Mailboxes.
I used to pay $ 25 for forwarding a box of letters overseas. I used it every 3 months or so. When my contract expired I decided to go with another service (
). As soon as I said it, the price to forward my leftover mail jumped up to $ 75. It kinda left bad taste in my mouth.
Anyways, use Earth Class Mail if you need forwarding… They cost $ 20 per month which is half the price of Mailboxes Etc. They scan every envelope that comes in and send it to your email to let you decide if you want to scan it or shred it. And they cash checks for you!

Maybe this is a good place to have a PO box, but all their other services are ridiculously expensive.
Today, I went in to have a small painting packed for a plane, and the guy who works at the counter tried to rip me off ($ 80 for basic packing of a 32″ x 19″ painting). He refused to consult the established price list and wouldn’t give me a breakdown of the materials and labor. He just gave me a flat fee with little explanation. Turns out materials if I go down the street to a packaging store come to $ 15 retail.
Every other time I’ve been in for copies or fax I’ve been shocked by how much they charge. Buy yourself an all-​in-​one fax/​printer and don’t go here.
