I think that it’s wonderful when people love what they do and want to share that love with others — pass on the magic, if you will. My friend is a volunteer at this theater, and when he asked if me and another friend would be interested in coming to see a performance of the off-off-off Broadway play, The Greenwich Village Follies, I figured why not? I am not always a patron of the arts(I prefer to make up stories in my head, ha!), but when I get a chance to support something grassroots and wonderful, I do. The location itself is a combo stage, coffee shop, book store and gathering spot — very welcoming and cozy in a disheveled way. I know that doesn’t sound very appealing, but I’m a fan of disheveled locations(and people, sometimes — they tend to be endearing). As for the play — it was engaging, energetic, interactive and informative all rolled into 1.5 hours of entertainment. The cast was wonderful and on point with their comedic timing and their historical facts. Note to people who bring their elderly to plays — this one is a tad on the racy side, so be warned. Unless you hang out with racy elderly folks. All in all a great and inexpensive evening out with friends, family or an endearing other. Check out what they have going on and I think you might be pleasantly surprised!

Évaluation du lieu : 3 Manhattan, NY
This place is two stories-the downstairs is for a small café, and as you go up you’ll see a colorful couch to sit on between stairways. Upstairs is where your main performance goes on. I dig the brick walls for a home-y London type feel, and I do like small theatres as a break from the huge audience ones, at least. This place seats about 30 – 40 people, max. It’s great that you can get up close and personal with the actors, but it also lacks in design, props, and any change of scenery. Great place to utilize if you’re expecting a small audience.
