I’m so excited to have Manhattanville as my new neighborhood coffee shop! It’s spacious, the staff is friendly, the people here are friendly, and it just feels very home-y. And most importantly, the coffee is . This just became my new favorite coffee spot and the fact that it’s right around the corner from my apartment makes me love it even more. 5 stars!!! Oh and free wifi!

Wish I could give this less than one star. This place is way over priced for what they have. They changed their food menu and it’s not the same or appealing. And I thought Starbucks was bad. There is no good reason for me to return. I use to rave about this place. Not anymore.

This is easily one of my favorite coffee shops in the city. Excellent coffee at a non-outrageous price tag. The baristas are super friendly and helpful, the space is large enough to move around, and I’ve cranked out some of my best work here thanks to wifi that’s actually dependable(see 50% of NY coffee shops). Special note, I found out the manager is over picking the drink of the month(which is always delicious) and I think that says a lot about how passionate the entire staff is. This is a true Harlem gem, and I’m happy to have it here.

First time I went there, I liked the coffee and the service. Today I went with my friend. She asked the girl to make the cappuccino with less shots of espresso than they normally do and she just tells the barista to make a cappuccino… I asked for a coffee to stay and a sandwich to go, she repeated after me and I got the sandwich cut in 4, on a plate, with a salad on top drizzled with some dressing. I told them my sandwich was to go. They just put the same sandwich in a box. I asked if I could have it in a bag because I don’t want to walk around with a box, they took the same sandwich and wrapped it with the salad and put it in the same box as before. Now the box is all greasy and looks very unappealing. First of all, the cashier was not paying attention to people’s orders, not just mines and my friend’s order(and it wasn’t even too busy). Then how many times did they have to touch my sandwich??? I just asked for a sandwich to go, not warmed up or anything… Won’t go back again! Giving it 2 stars because the first experience was better and the girl with a medium length hair was very sweet.

A cute little NY coffee shop. Great place to sit down and work on your computer as many of the patrons do. Always inhabited by kind lovely New Yorkers. The wifi works perfectly. There are some comfy couches as well as chairs and tables and a big communal bench and desk area. The noise level is moderate. They have yummy vegan soups, too.

Brilliant! Steven was extremely helpful and Joe made my chai tea latte so wonderfully. The canalé was magnificent! Must go to coffee shop!

Absolutely the best coffee shop in town!!! Everyone knows a good coffee shop needs great coffee beans, but amazing barista is even more important! If you ever get a coffee from Steven and Joe, you will not be disappointed! They also offer great vegetarian option for sandwiches and salads. I had the Hot Vegan Soup, which was a potato based soup, it was fantastic! And you can’t leave here without trying the Canalé, it pairs so well with any coffee or tea drink, Joe(the barista) told me that Canalé takes 3 days to make, they are kind of like a cream brulée cake, you have to try it for yourself!

Decent lattes for the area but this place is for students only. It always feels like a library. This is NOT a place to meet a friend for coffee, though it’s not a bad place to order 1 coffee, stay for days and write a novel! So basically keep it to a whisper and take your coffee to go.

Love the long spacious work spaces & the great coffee. BUT could you maybe throw in a few more outlets if you’re going to market yourself as a neighborhood hangout? That being said, I love this as a fabulous alternative to Starbucks and a great place to go when Sugar Hill Café is too crowded to work(semi-often).

This place is what the movies make Brooklyn out to be. But it’s BETTER. With distinctly delicious espresso drinks and wonderful pastries and bagels, this is THE place to hang out and do nothing, or work on the next American novel. My recommendation is definitely the mocha with a bagel!

25 minute wait for a *just-ok*(and pricy) drip coffee on a Sunday morning. I’m all for slowing down and smelling the roses but this was kind of absurd. Made me very very cranky. Person behind the counter, on the other hand, was friendly and great.

Excellent place to study, and a surprisingly large number of seats fit into this tiny space. I was able to snag a stool by the window, and had no problem with the Wi-Fi whatsoever. As for the actual menu… I bought a warm chai latte since the weather is getting chilly, but found that my drink was half foam – I finished my actual latte in about four or five gulps. It was spicy, just how I like my chai, but disappointingly watery. Like… you know what hot cocoa tastes like when it’s made with water instead of milk? That’s the best way I can describe it. The staff was also cold and unwelcoming. I’m not sure what the other reviewers are talking about… as a newcomer to New York, I’m hoping that not all coffee shops are like this!

I think if I lived near here I’d probably frequent this coffee shop. However, I don’t. Well, I sort of do, but the coffee here isn’t good enough to lure me over to this side of Harlem. 1) Coffee is decent. 2) Baristas are aloof and not friendly. Maybe all the bad apples were working on the same shift. 3) Good seating. 4) Clean bathroom. 5) Pastries are not good. why why why why.

I love this place. I live a few blocks away, so I come here all the time. The music is always awesome and the staff is super friendly. The prices are great, there is always somewhere to sit, and the coffee and bagels are awesome. I’ve come here in groups, with one other person, and alone. I’ve come here to chat, to work, and to read. I’ve spent on any given day anywhere between one to eight hours in Manhattanville, and it is no less welcoming by the eighth hour. It’s fabulous. I really like the community seating in the middle of the shop, and everyone in there always seems friendly — even the other customers. If you’re looking for somewhere chill that’s not very expensive and has great coffee and bagels, I recommend Manhattanville.

Neat little corner shop off edgecomb and 142nd. Free wifi. Good for coffee and a scone. The cashier/barista was friendly and recommend a good breakfast spot nearby. Lots of people here hanging out, studying, drinking their coffee. Not much of a coffee person but the iced mocha latte was yum and so was the soy chai tea latte.

This is my favorite coffee shop in the neighborhood, and not just because it’s the ONLY coffee shop in the neighborhood… No, Manhattanville is so much more than that! The coffee is excellent and they make a mean iced chai. I don’t really dig the sandwiches, but definitely go for a pastry or a bagel if you’re hungry. Some other redeeming qualities include a kick ass music selection, friendly staff, and really fun tip jars… I highly recommend coming here to hit the books. There’s some really productive energy swirling around in there, and I find that I can really get in the zone and get to work. Seating can be tough to come by, but if you get there early enough or hit it at just the right time during the weekend, you’ll find a spot.

Manhattanville Coffee is a a coffee lover’s wet(as in coffee) dream for the following reasons: 1) Comfortable seating all around 2) Cozy atmosphere, yet roomy 3) No loud music 4) Amazing Intelligentsia coffee, and organic teas If these aren’t reason enough for you, it’s located near the 1+ABCD trains, City College, and some great local night life. Filled with character, Manhattanville Coffee will continue to be a go-to for me when in the area, and for when I want to score points with the Boo by bringing her some of her favorite coffee in all of NYC!

Lovely little spot in harlem. I guess i went on a good day because everyone was so friendly and chill. I even had a stranger draw my picture! Haha and chatted with another lady who went to the same school as me as well as major! Crazy cool to me! As for the service, wonderful. The coffee, i tried both the chai iced and chai hot. They were wonderfully delicious, mmm moist. But they dont have food that FILLS, and you cant bring in outside food which is understandable bc its their COFFEE shop lol. Definitely check this place out especially during finals week, the weathers getting nicer, etc.

I’ve heard you’re not particularly fond of corporate coffee chains, fine. I’ve heard you’re into a spectacular cup of coffee or having a drink that isn’t loaded with artificial flavorings or syrup to mask its taste, great. I’ve been told you enjoy the Intelligentsia roast, and that you’re open to trying the other brews but the iced Americano is best. Who knew a cup of coffee could be so titillating? I’ve also heard you enjoy relaxing in a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Whether it’s a moment of solitude, cozying up with your significant other, getting re-acquainted with a friend, or perhaps working through the next daunting project, I’ve heard that’s what you’re looking for. There’s no speculation, but I know you appreciate the large windows that keep this space brightly lit. The sun beaming even in cooler days. I’ve heard that free and unlimited use of the coffee shop’s wifi is what gets you going. And what makes it over the top are the abundance of outlets throughout the room. Well Manhattanville Coffee, I’ve heard you’ve got it all. Almost.

What an amazing local coffee shop. I love Starbucks but I love to gra I dropped in one day because I am always passing this establishment on my way to Riverside. They have tall windows which allow for the maximum amount of lighting possible and plenty of outlets, couches, and a large community table. I ordered a Mocha while I sat and did my work. It tasted amazing and it wasn’t too sweet or too strong. They have a wide assortment of sweets as well to select from. The staff was helpful and kind as well. Of course their is free wifi at this location which is always perk. This will quickly become a new favorite since it is only 2 blocks from my house. Thanks Manhattanville Coffee for a great first impression.
