Love this place! Definitely my go to place for weekend brunch. Food is a sorely delicious. Haven’t ordered anything I did like yet. Best booze my brunch deal as well! Can’t beat unlimited mimosas and blood Marie’s for $ 10 for 90 minutes!!! Don’t think that this place is only good for brunch. Their regular menu is also amazing. Quality food and reasonable prices. Staff is super friendly and personable. Great little gem in Washington Heights!

We stopped by for the brunch menu and endless drinks combo and have been delighted by the food here. My girlfriend and I eat here often and aside from it taking quite a bit to be serviced, the food is spectacular. They always are very friendly, extremely polite and accommodating. We love the food here, and hope they improve the speed of their service, other than that excellent place to eat! Response to Jairo: Hello there and thanks for replying! I understand that you make everything fresh, and that it may at times be busy, but our biggest concern was: it wasn’t packed at all, people were coming in AFTERUS and eating BEFOREUS, including the couple that was right across from us that had a similar if not the same exact order. When I asked our waitress where our food was after 30 minutes, she returned saying 4 minutes. Then 10 minutes later, I asked you where our food was, and you said another 4 minutes. when we received our food it was very delicious, however we didn’t order Filet Minot, we ordered eggs, french toast, a burger and some fries. It does not take a professional kitchen 40 – 50 minutes to prepare this meal, however that is how long it took for us to receive our food. The reason I’m rating it this high is because the food was splendid, the service was spectacular and aside from the feeling our order was never put in or started, we had a great time and enjoyed our visit. I definitely recommend this place to anyone reading!

Marcha Cocina This Latin American tapas bar is one of my favorite places in Washington Heights. Amazing brunch food(haven’t had anything that’s not awesome). My favorite refreshing drink is the«uptown swing»

I’ve been here a thousand times… only had tapas… and all are phenomenal… cocas…bacon wrapped dates… fish tacos… garlic shrimp… sautéed spinach… yuca fries… chorizo…all the croquetas… really great menu top to bottom. Never had an entrée but never needed too… amazing happy hour… equally amazing staff and just overall great time.

My Finance and I moved into the area about 2 years ago, we stumbled across this place on a cold winter night and we haven’t stopped coming here since. This place is a hidden gem in Washington Heights. I think we have tried everything on the menu and we have yet to be disappointed. The food and drinks are always great. The staff is the same since I’ve been coming here. Everyone is always so nice and welcoming, from the servers to the hostess to the bartender. To say that you been going to the same place for 2 years now and you have nothing to complain about is a big deal. There’s not a lot of places in the neighborhood like this, that can deliver such consistency with food, drinks and good ambiance. I have recommend this place to a lot of my friends, who are now regular customers. P.S the coconut margarita is one of the best drinks

Love the food! Love that place!!! Excellent! :) I went for dinner and today for brunch, and I just love it! The staff is very nice and the menu is very completed, appetizers and platters, and also the brunch menu I just love it, was hard for me to decided what to eat :) A variety of beers and cocktails. Very professional and comfortable place to go with friends or family. I really recommend this place.

We came here for brunch today, on Friday. The reviews had looked good– but were misleading for sure. The food took 40 minutes to get to our table and the place was empty. The music blasted way too loud while we were starving to death for food to arrive. Once the food arrived it was ice cold. We complained only about the DISGUSTING chorizo they served to the manager, whom said he would taste our food to verify this as it was ‘imported from Spain’. Umm, what? We felt he was implying because we aren’t Latina then we don’t know how Spanish food should taste?! It was gross, period, no matter the ethnicity. I am very disappointed in this meal. The ketchup, which I normally don’t even taste, was the best part. Response to restuarant’s comments: In response to Jairo David D. of Marcha Cocina comment below, I must say that I am horrified by such comments by a proprietor in response to a customers’ poor experience, when this is a community to share feedback and honest opinions. I can never imagine a scenario where it is appropriate to make personal attacks on someone’s character because they found the food and service to be subpar. I think Jairo may benefit from taking a sensitivity class and studying up on customer service. If I were a restuarant manager I would have offered a client a chance for a redo or some sort of a apology. There is no need for me to return to your restuarant, as you could easily issue a refund or just cancel the charge without inconveniencing me after this horrid exchange. I said your food is disgusting, not food in general. Clearly, Jairo, you are not familiar with basic etiquette, proper manners, and lack the ability to deescalate a situation. I hope you take a moment to reconsider your approach. I will report back to the Unilocal community whether Jairo actually refund the money or not. Response #3: Please feel free to re-read my second response, as you missed a few points on customer service. I am quite unclear why a restaurant proprietor personally attacks a Unilocal reviewer whom merely reviewed the taste of your offerings and the customer service.(Both were found to be lacking.) I think it is embarrassing for you to continue what amounts to a personal attack on a customer. If I were you I would be concerned about harassing customers. To reiterate I never said food is disgusting, only that the food I ordered at your restuarant was. The food you served tasted terrible. And was cold. And took too long from the time ordered to arrive at the table. Thus, in summary, the food was late, cold, and didn’t taste good. My guest and I could have sent the entire order back but opted to only return the unpalatable offering of what your restuarant alleged was chorizo. We were shocked to get an argument at all about how that tasted. We don’t ever like to send food back to the kitchen, but in the rare instances like we experienced at your restuarant, we do expect an apology or an offer for another item. However, against all common sense, you argued with us about whether the chorizo did indeed taste good. No apology. I am impressed you stayed in business this long with this sort of approach, but imagine your restuarant does most of its business with alcohol.(I don’t really drink but imagine that can’t get screwed up too badly.) Since you failed to return the money we spent on our credit cards and charged us, then you can venmo us the $ 50 you claim you wish to return. There was absolutely nothing impolite about my review and no venom, unlike as you display in your responses and in person. I am much more interested in reporting you to the BBB, and doubt Michelin is interested in giving your venue any space at all– if they do, bully for you. Should you actually return the money I will update fellow Unilocalers. Update 4: I contacted the restuarant and the owner wanted me to stop by to pick up cash, which I feel unsafe doing. I inquired if they could refund my card if that is what they wanted to do. Jairo told me it was a lot of trouble to find a receipt and would take a month to process. So instead, I will contact my credit card and if Jairo does not dispute my request for a refund, I will confirm this with my fellow Unilocalers. As for his comments below, I am continuing to scratch my head as I think others who review this thread would feel anxious doing business or soliciting this venue. Perhaps all will end as well as it can if they do grant a refund after all. I had not asked for it, so if they do it I would accept it as something positive despite all the messy communications.

Had high hopes for this place based on the Michelin guide recommendation as well as the other reviews. Went during happy hour. Drink specials were clear cut on the blackboard. Good deal on a margarita and a shot of tequila for $ 10. Didn’t get that though, since I like neither tequila nor margarita. I got the daily drink special, which was rum with triple sec plus a splash of lime. Way too sweet for me. Didn’t finish. Tried the Gambas al Ajillo per fellow Unilocalers’ recommendations. Did not disappoint. The garlic and guajillo were prominent as they were supposed to be. Although I felt like it could’ve been better as the size of the shrimp was too small to really get a good satisfying bite. Think they were using 41/50s or smaller. Personally would prefer larger sizes for better bite and texture. Also, the shrimp were just slightly over, so they got borderline rubbery. Finally, the noise. Oh god… The noise… Ridonkulously loud inside! Bring earplugs and don’t even bother trying to have a conversation unless you got a megaphone… This alone probably costed a whole star.

Came here while exploring the Heights. It was happy hour. I had the mimosa(good) and peach margarita(meh). The Unilocal offer for a «jolly rancher» shot was not good — like really poor quality alcohol. I could not finish it. I’ll blame the low vibes on the weather, it was rainy and cold. The place looks like it has potential to be fun in the summer — like a South Beach feel. My main critique is that some bars take this cheap liquor thing too far. Like you can’t just give people anything in the name of happy hour. Some of us know our stuff.

I ordered take out from here and the food was good. I received the food in a timely manner as well. I ordered the paella and the beef soup. The paella tasted yummy, however the shrimp wasn’t cleaned properly! As for the beef soup there was barely any meat. I was lucky if I found small tiny pieces of beef. Also it was $ 8 for a small container not worth it. Btw I had to order through seamless because eat 24 stated the business didn’t deliver to my location.

This place is such a gem. I’ve been pretty loyal since it opened. The staff is a tight knit group and it is so nice to see kind familiar faces every time I go. It’s a great date night spot when you want to stay in the neighborhood. I love the Calamari and ceviche. Marcha is also awesome to order for delivery. I swear the guys who deliver it must be Olympic runners. There’s no wait at all. Their eggs Benedict have rescued both myself and my boyfriend from many a hangover. Really the best place in the heights. Staff: A+; consistent friendly and familiar Food: A great value, and so tasty, maybe slightly unhealthy, whatever treat yourself Delivery Service: A++++ they’re super human

Went here with my best friend for drinks on Sunday before the SuperBowl and really enjoyed it! They have happy hour everyday from 4 – 8:00 pm including red and white sangria for $ 4.50! It’s a small place but has plenty of seating at the bar with TVs to watch sports games, as well as table seating. I’ve only been here once, but I think they also run promotions periodically because the night we went, there were representatives from Bud Light, who gave us free beers and drink cozies to promote their product. The music was also AWESOME! A lot of Latin and Spanish pop hits and classics! The bartender was also really nice and regularly checked back to see how we were doing with our drinks! Overall 5⁄5 for an affordable NY bar with great happy hour options, cool promotions and great music!

Delicious tapas! I shared the mushroom croquettes, a mushroom/jamon flatbread and the much-loved shrimp with a friend, and it was more than enough. Believe the hype — the shrimp is sooo good. Honestly, though, I couldn’t pick a favorite! Bonus points: the dishes are hearty enough that it only takes 1.5−2 to fill you up. Ask for a table in the back if you want it a little quieter.

Small cute place. Crowded for Sundays brunch, but totally acceptable. They have all you can«drunk» mimosas for 90 minutes. I See a lot of DUI coming. Lol. I order passion fruit one. For brunch I’m having the portobello burguer. They say with home made bread but I don’t think so. It’s not a burguers(just saying). It’s a portobello sandwich. It was very tasty. I order the«bravas sauce» on the side to dip my Fries on. It was good. I always remove 1 star if they have plasma TV s in restaurants. Specially if playing sports… specially if it’s not a sport bar. I’m sorry guys. I wish all customers do the same so we can eat for once not in front of that light box. REMOVETHETVGUYS!!! Back to the food/place review. Latin music, cool place. Cute. Can’t wait to come at night and try the croquetas platter. Almost everything in the menu sounds tempting.

This has been my go to spot in the heights since this place opened. The staff are incredibly friendly and attentive — and the food absolutely delicious. I haven’t tried anything that I haven’t liked. I especially like to go for their amazing happy hour and brunch specials. Specials: They have daily happy hour specials from around 4−8pm with drinks that range from approximately $ 4 – 6 — I typically go with the white sangria. The brunch special includes $ 10 for unlimited mimosas for 1.5 hours with your entrée till 4pm, Friday-Sunday. They have endless mimosa options — my personal favorites are the passion fruit, guava, and good ol’ orange juice. For the food portion of the review I will go through the menu with my personal recommendations: Salad — Espanola Salad — though I add grilled chicken. Brunch — The pancakes, french toast, and steak and eggs are really good, coming from someone who is not a big breakfast food person. Sandwich — I would say the Burger is absolutely deliciously juicy and flavorful and the Chicken Sandwich is a must have. I also really love the fries here but you can also get a side salad. Croquetas — The Hongos con Cheddar(mushroom/truffle) croquetas are some of the best mushroom croquetas I have had to date. The Pollo y Platano(chicken and plantain) are not far behind. Tapas in order starting with my favorite — Gambas Al Ajillo(garlicy, olive oil dipped shrimp goodness) Dates wrapped in bacon, Calamari(which is tossed in a slightly spicy sauce) Chorizo, Patatas Bravas, and I cant knock the sauteed spinach. Cocas(flatbread) — I cant rate these in order of favorites because it really depends on my craving for the day but the Hongos(mushroom w/Serrano ham), Cangrejo(crab — kinda reminds me of a pizza), and Bistec(steak) are all equally good. Generally the food portions are on the smaller side but the quality of food is worth it. The menu is also constantly evolving — so many additions I can’t wait to try!

This place was awesome! I had the eggs benedict(no English muffins, fyi) that came with potato pancakes and cream cheese. I liked how it was different from what I’m normally used to. You also get AYCD for just $ 10 extra! I had some bellinis: guava, peach, tamarind, mango and passion fruit. You also get bloody marys added to the mix! They were tasty, but left me hungover for the rest of the day, haha: P Oh and, take a pic in the bathroom(instructions are on their mirror, haha) to get a free shot-we had some coconut mixed with whiskey-and it was delicious! Everyone was super friendly here, and we loved our server. Plus, we got to comfortably park our stroller right next to our table. Yay to that!

I’ve been coming to Marcha for a while now and I have to say that it is becoming one of my favorite places to eat and have a drink in Washington Heights. If I want to relax after a long day at work or just hang out with friends on the weekends it is always a top choice. Marcha has a great environment. The music is good, the food is great and the drinks are awesome. For a restaurant/bar in Washington Heights it doesn’t get much better than this. Service is always on point. I’ve never had a problem with long wait times or something being wrong with my order. I’m a big beer drinker and for people who like beer,(other than coors, miller and bud) they have a wide selection of bottles and beer on tap. Also their mixed drinks are great. Their«drinks of the day» are usually good and innovative. They always try something different. For food I usually order the Cocas or Gambas. Cocas is a flatbread that is topped with different meats and ingredients. Gambas comes with shrimp, which is sautéed and in a spicy sauce. Very good dishes that I would recommend for a first timer.

I came here for an early Saturday brunch with my sister. The place was pretty empty, but it was noon. It has a nice atmosphere and very clean. Food: I had eggs benedict with salmon. I forget what my sister had. The food was good, prices a bit high for the area Service: There were only 3 tables(including us) with people. The food was surprisingly slow to come out. not a big deal, but I noticed that they bought out the food for a table that came in 10 – 15 min after we did… and then ours a few min later. Again, not a big deal, just wonder how it would be on a busy day/night. I’ll come back and give the brunch another try, it’s nice to have places like this in the area.
