Apparently when you ask for coffee with no sugar it taste sweet naturally… The sandwich(turkey bacon egg and cheese) was actually not bad but is it standard rule to not even ask customers if they want ketchup etc? There was no napkin in a bag with coffee and sandwich. Really Mars café?

Ask price before you order. Price on menu board is incorrect. I went to get breakfast and lunch and both they charged over 2 dollars from menu price. Wtheck. It is way overpriced. Need to correct board price. Not going there for anything but coffee.

The Sandwich guys are nice and do a great job. Beware of the lunch specials, I believe the recycle from day to day…

Like Mary Z. said below, this place is an great little deli and lunch gem. They have lunchbox option with a lot great, quality choices(offer brown rice!). I get fish, brown rice, sauteed kale, and either plantains or sweet potato with brown rice. That is an awesome and healthy meal for less than $ 7! They even have all the bottled iced teas I like!

This is not your typical, ubiquitous NY pay-per-pound deli buffet. This is QUALITY! I had all the cooked and raw greens I wanted AND all of 3 kinds of meat I desired for just $ 4.01! The beef stew was really tender, and both a pepper steak and a spicy beef were excellent. Spicy was actually SPICY!!! I will keep this place in mind going about all my midtown activities.

Best bang for your buck with the lunch special. $ 7 bucks for a rice platter and some tasty ass meat with two sides? You feel like you found the Asian Boston Market on a side street. As a man who is always on the hunt for a deal in dreaded midtown this place has a decent setup. Lunch Special In The Front, Buffet in the Middle, and(don’t even go there) Nasty tacos in the back. However, if your wallet is a hurtin’ and your stomach is a calling go with the lunch special. Teryaki Chix, creamed spinach, and plaintains are good for the sould…

I used to work at an office just a couple doors down from Mars, and naturally, after ordering the same breakfast everyday for a few weeks, the incredibly friendly staff knew exactly what to start preparing as soon as they saw me walk in the door — as is the case in most small delicatessens with regular weekday customers. But, what’s really exceptional about Mars, is that even now that I’ve moved to a different office location and only rarely find myself in the midtown area to stop and grab a bite there, they still remember exactly what I like. Even months later. I’d highlight their bubble tea — particularly the mocha flavor — as something worth making a special trip for.

They are fast, moderately priced and polite. Portions are always on point and the soup is out of this world…(Mars Café)

These guys are great, their burgers and meatload are 100% beef/meat no breadcrumbs, their bacon is the best around and well I can buy breakfast & coffee for $ 4.36 here as opposed to a donut and a coffee across the street.

If you work in the area, it’s the best spot for breakfast. It’s fast and cheap. For lunch, I’ve never had the lunch box/hot buffet items. The salad bar is good and is better than a lot of the other places that make the salad for you price wise. I always order other food from the two guys are the grill. They work hard and are quick. They make a solid Italian sandwich which comes with a can of soda for $ 6.49 plus tax. $ 5 minimum on CC’s

Some of the hot food lunch buffet items I’ve tried are fried chicken wings, collard greens, steamed fish and noodles. The price is pretty cheap for midtown lunch but your palate will die from saltiness. Unfortunately, because of it’s convenience to my office, I eat them salty fried chicken wings quite a bit. Ha!

Excellent breakfast deals if you work in the neighborhood. Just hold your breath on your way in if you’re walking past the miserable construction next door.
