Went for brunch on Father’s Day service was great food was great atmosphere was great. I highly recommend the crêpe and eggs. Crêpe stuffed with 3 scrambled eggs, prosciutto, Black Forest ham, creamed spinach, cheese and topped with a fried egg. Can’t wait to go back for another one.

Came here a handful of times. The service is good. The drinks are as expected: decently well. The food is average, and the chocolate pizza is not somethings to write home about.

My husband and I had dessert at Max Brenner Chocolate Bar. We split a chocolate chunks pizza with hazelnut and PB. It was good, but not great, and we thought the place was overpriced. My husband ordered a scoop of ice cream and got about a thimble-full, seriously, little more than a tablespoon. Even though I’m a chocolate lover, I wouldn’t recommend this place or go back. Go to Levain Bakery on the Upper West Side instead. That was my favorite.

I came here with a friend because i have heard so many people rave about it. For dinner I had a burger, and I didn’t think it was anything to go crazy over. The dessert, which is why I came here, is phenomenal. I got the churro sticks that come with chocolate, caramel, and raspberry dipping sauces, and I got a milkshake, which was also absolutely amazing. The place gets very, very crowded, so expect a loud noise level; the tables are also pretty uncomfortably close to each other. It’s also pretty dark. One cool thing is that there is a souvenir shop. I ended up buying me and a couple of friends their signature Max Brenner milkshake cups, which also comes with a recipe. Overall, this is definitely one of those places you need to go to at least once just to say you have eaten there. The dessert and the milkshakes will definitely not disappoint, so make sure you save A LOT of room!!!

Guys this place has been on my list for years! & I finally made it here. The restaurant is beautiful, I love the design. Everyone on the first floor seems so close together, that is the only thing that I hate. I ordered a burger and fries(I’m not sure of the exact name) and it was good! I would say the drinks was pretty watered down. The prices were reasonable! I probably wouldn’t come back here! But I def. recommend others to try it! Like who doesn’t want to give a chocolate restaurant a try?

Dessert first: — Their Banana Split Waffle has been my favorite thing on the menu for the past eight years. The portions have gotten smaller, and the chocolate tastes different, but I guess that’s to be expected as a restaurant becomes more mainstream. I still have it occasionally. I think they might have changed its name — it’s still delicious. — The European Fondue for Two is good to share once in a while. Dipping strawberries, bananas, and marshmallows in chocolate is fun. — I don’t order their crepes anymore because they are too thick for my liking. In terms of food: The Penne Alfredo with chicken is good; the Brenner Burger is tasty; I also like their waffle fries. Drinks: The orange juice and the mint lemonade(without too much mint) are refreshing. Setting: Love the concept of being in a world of chocolate! However, the past couple of times I’ve been to Max Brenner, it smelled kind of strong. Perhaps it can be deodorized better. Not a completely off-putting smell, but can be softened.

Honestly, this franchise is not as good as it is hyped up to be. The quality of the food and alcohol beverages is average, forgettable and overpriced. When I went, they were so overcrowded. The chocolate gifts were pretty to look at but definitely overpriced.

It isn’t as good as others hype it up to be. When we went, the place wasn’t too crowded. It still took approximately 45 – 50 minutes for the food to arrive though. We ordered the really cheesy, really crunchy mac and cheese and the Brenner burger. The mac and cheese was mediocre and not worth $ 16. To be completely honest, I couldn’t even tell there were five cheeses incorporated and they forgot the bacon in it. We did not receive any type of discount when we informed our waiter of this mistake! However, the pasta was cooked al dente and they did not skimp on the cheese. The toasted breadcrumb topping added a textural contrast to the overall softness of the dish. The Brenner burger was a better choice. It was medium rare as asked and the onion ring added a nice crunch to the burger. Also, the BBQ sauce really tied it together.

I first visited Max Brenner when I was in Australia and loved it. I was excited to see that they opened a location in New York. I took two friends here to celebrate their birthdays. We split the Brenner Burger(surprisingly good), the crispy max & cheese(good but very heavy — couldn’t eat it all myself), and the spinach and artichoke dip. I wasn’t sure what to expect from their actual meals(since it’s such a dessert place) but was pleasantly surprised. I also had the chocolate martini which tasted like alcoholic chocolate milk! It came with a delicious and crunchy chocolate covered strawberry. I want to try the white russian next time, which the waiter also recommended. For dessert, I split the messy cake with my friend. It came with tons of good stuff(ice cream, whipped cream, bananas, chocolate — the works) but the cake tasted burnt. I was disappointed in the cake, but enjoyed the toppings. My friend had the chocolate pizza with«the works.» I didn’t try it, but it looked good. Service was a little slow, and it took quite some time to get our drinks. However, I had a great experience overall and will definitely be back. Great place to celebrate a birthday and seems like it would be a fun date spot.

I’ve been to Max Brenners a couple of times before and my experience wasn’t always 5 star worthy, but this review will solely be based on my visit last night. My boyfriend and I stopped by here last night for our 8 month anniversary and we had a great time! Although I had come here numerous times before, it was his first time here and he seemed to thoroughly enjoy himself. The food was amazing, the dessert was out of this world and the service was exceptional! I got the Spicy chicken and 3 cheese flat bread($ 14) with mushrooms(extra $ 1) and it was so delicious and filling! And my boyfriend got the Really cheese mushroom and smoked mozzarella mac and cheese($ 16), also very good! My boyfriend and I got the Euphoria peanut butter chocolate fudge sundae to share and it was so good! Worth every penny! The only thing I disliked from what i ordered was the chocolate martini. Our server recommended it, and said it was a popular drink, however, I found it to be way too strong. I felt like i was drinking straight up vodka. Luckily my boyfriends an alcoholic so he finished it. I definitely recommend everyone try this place out. It’s not like a regular dinner and dessert place, so if you’re ever bored of going to basic restaurants, definitely stop by!

I LOVE this place. Need I say more? This is the go-to spot for my parents and I any time they come to visit me in NY. We are obsessed with their desserts, and recently found out that their food is pretty good too. I mean, really. An all-chocolate oriented restaurant? What’s not to like? Favorites include the fondue and waffles. Tonight we had the classic fondue that came with tons of little snacks to dip in your choice of chocolate(get the white chocolate — just trust me). We ate until we wanted to nap and it was the best feeling ever. Max Brenner is SO worth the calorie splurge! Just do it!

This review is long overdue. I received a free sample of chocolate for checking in! I’m not crazy about chocolate, but this restaurant has a lot of great, creative ideas. I’m from Chicago, and we don’t have a lot of places like this that mainly serves chocolate in variety of options. There are a lot in the menu… so chocoholics beware! There are a lot to choose from. Comparing this place to Chicago’s chocolate restaurants(ex: Mindy’s Hot Chocolate and Geja’s Café), it is very loud and packed in here — a lot of families and children. Chicago has the intimate/romantic ambience. Obviously, this place is not ideal for a romantic date.

Feel like I’m always here on a date or a celebratory occasion with a girlfriend. So clearly this should be on a date list in NYC lol. Interior: You feel like your in a chocolate factory the moment your inside. The wait will always be there because your most likely going to go in during the pack times. So please have at least a 30 minute cushion. The fun thing is while you wait you walk over to the side and look at different types of chocolate you shouldn’t buy you just might want to splurge on anyways! They have chocolate survival kits to just simple pieces of chocolate so everything is there! Unilocal offers a check-in for a free chocolate but they told me you don’t need a Unilocal check-in to do so fyi! Pesto Chicken Flatbread: Very flat haha but very good. Hard to eat at times because the toppings fall off so not super great but whatever its all good because I love cheese and it had plenty of it. Really-Cheesy Crispy Chicken Mac & Cheese: The title says it all. It is really crispy and really cheesy. It seems small at first but the more you eat the more full you get. Not saying it’ll make you full but you will be satisfied. The inside is so warm but the cheese on top gets hard quick and may not be your cup of tea. Strawberry Hazlenut Crêpe: OMG. So good. Enough for one person but 2 people can share. The chocolate is here is why you come so always get a dessert. I can’t say enough good things about the dessert. Staff: The main reason I am giving this 2 stars is only because of the staff. Yes that bad. First no silverware at the table. Then the waitress was not very accomadating at our requests. She never really came and never was happy about it. However the thing that got me was that fact that she was totally fine with all the tables around us. I could have blamed it on a bad day for her but it seemed very selective that she would be rude to us. She always asked everyone how the food was and if we would like dessert or anything but to us… nothing nada. No eyecontact what so ever. So the food was great but the way the waitress treated us was very poor and made my meal bad when it should have been good. Overall: 0 stars for the staff. 3 stars for the food and dessert. This probably won’t stop me from coming but you should definitely come here and give the dessert a try anyways. Bring a date and pay for the meals boys!

First and foremost– if your coming here for a special occasion make a reservation! No excuses you will probably wait around an hour. If you have the extra time and are in no rush. Sign your name in and came back– give them your number don’t go to far and time will fly by. They will call you so give yourself a 3 – 5 min walking window. Honestly I don’t come her for the food. I come here for the chocolate and deserts. It’s a big place but trust me very small at the same time. You are very close to the table next to you so think before you speak– one time I was there I heard a conversation that should have 200% been left in that person’s head! It was verbal vomit and I wish I cut my ears off. It’s new year if you want privacy Stay home– don’t think that you can go anywhere to eat and you will be alone. Have fun and have the fondue! It’s all great!

Reviewed the Max Brenner chocolate shop last time. This time is a review for the restaurant, still not impressed. When I checked in, it said I got an offer to get a free chocolate sample, but when I asked about it, the lady from the chocolate shop simply said they ran out of samples, she wasn’t very nice about it neither. Is that false advertisement?! We waited forever for our service and it wasn’t even a weekend or any special day. We waited for over 40 minutes from the time we got a table and the food to come. We ordered wings, dessert pizza(chocolate and marshmallows), and a hazelnut shake. Dessert pizza: We ordered a whole pie. It was loaded with marshmallow and looked amazing. I think it could use a little more chocolate. Wings: The BBQ sauce was good. But I wouldn’t go to Max Brenner for wings. Hazelnut shake: best part of the dinner. Amazing. Overall, the food was ok. But the service was really meh… Things are not cheap neither. Been there, done that. Don’t think I’d go back anytime soon.

Um, can we say tourist central? wow. MB is a mad house, the wait is 45+ minutes, easy. By the the time you sit and order you’ll wait. again. Once you indulge on all that is chocolaty you will go into a sugar coma and not want to leave which is probably why the wait is so long to get a seat :) food is ok and the desserts are all well, desserts. I had their shake which was ok. I also had a bite of some crepes with chocolate which was pretty yummy. so touristy and young date spot + wait galore, yea, that wraps it up.

Fun and touristy, but definitely a tourist trap! Don’t be surprised if there is an hour wait for a table. Venue is very big and décor is fun for kids. Wait staff is very friendly and attentive, even when they are super busy! Lots of fun dessert options, but do seem over priced.

My only opinion regarding chocolate — Its ALL Good! Admittedly though, some chocolates are superior to others. Max Benner is the superior chocolatier. The ‘hug mug’ they serve hot chocolate in is the cutest thing ever. And really, it’s like a chocolatey hug for your belly. I have no idea what the food is like because the objective was dessert not entrees. Service was spotty at times. We had to be vocal to get the servers attention for anything. The place is always full, a real tourist attraction, so I attribute it to that.

If you have a sweet tooth and love chocolate, you have found heaven in the form of Max Brenner. Here are the need to knows about MB: 1. Make a reservation if you can. You may get lucky and get a table but it gets dicey during peak times. 2. Fondue. Always and forever. You must order one. 3. Come here for dessert. The food is meh at best. East Village and Gramercy are RIGHT there and have amazing food options. MB does dessert best and that is why I recommend this spot to others. 4. Getting the hot chocolate to go — solid idea. 5. If you are not a fan of sweet things, this is not the place for you. If chocolate is your lifeblood, this is a must try. Part of it is the bragging rights but most of it comes from the fact that MB does niche, affordable chocolate right.

Love, Love, Love! Chocolate — Oh So Much Chocolate! Max Brenner reminds me of that indulgent aunt I never had. Just wherever you walk, look and sit yourself down, there’s a party of chocolate, or s’mores, or crazy burgers! MB is great if you’re celebrating or just need a dessert because you have a sweet tooth craving.
