just really really dissatisfied with this. i want a new management company. feels like you have to struggle to get anything and when you do, you’re made to feel like a huge favor has been granted on you.

Unprofessional management company. I wish my building would find another management company.

Unresponsive, disorganized, and extremely frustrating management.

un-​responsive management. avoid phone calls with their answering machines. never returns phone calls.

Horrendous (just as others on Unilocal have said).
MKI has very little control over the doormen and the cleaning staff. The building is slowly getting worse and worse, and we have 640 apartments. Not only is MKI not responsive, but they make excuses to not handle a situation or even to talk about it.
Small problems mount up until they become major problems, and MKI cares less, perhaps because the manager of our facility is directly related to the owner of MKI.
MKI is quick to invoke their lawyers on non-​legal matters, however the lawyers are black holes of information and do not fix situations. And the lawyers promised to call back the next day or respond in writing and weeks later have not.
MKI’s on-​site manager does not follow up on items– including a commitment to our open condo-​wide meeting to look into the situation raised then by the local fire department about types of walls (single, double or other for stopping fires). There is an asbestos problem with the floors, and that the matter was not told to the owners. A request about asbestos in the ducts was improperly closed by a doorman (!) instead of by the live-​in super.

This management company is horrendous. They charge a hefty fee to do background checks. Moreover, they tried to prevent me from moving into the building when my lease started because I had not paid the non-​refundable $ 250 fee to «use the elevator».

I’m pleased to report my building finally fired this management company. Good riddance.
