One stop shop for any Greek/Cypriot/middle eastern specialty foods. Their pickled sardines and pickled octopus are out of this world. Make sure to stop by the olive bar as well.

This place is such a tiny but happy one, completely packed to the brim with a whole array of different products. They’ve got spices, produce, a feta cheese and olive bar, canned/jarred goods, sweets, filo pastry dough, booze, drinks, etc. Its a(much) smaller but homier version of Euromarket and there’s plenty of friendly staff around to help you out. They also sell homemade spinach pies and cheese pies for $ 3.50. Got the cheese pie… delicious. You can hear the crunch as you bit through infinite layers of filo dough and the rings of cheese within are just heaven.

I’m honored to live on the same block as this amazing market. The best feta(I get Dodonis, as mentioned below), olives, canned white beans in tomato sauce, olive oil, olives, tzatziki, taramasalata, and on and on. Everything is great and everyone here is really nice and helpful, even when I butcher the pronunciation of everything I buy.

They are the best Supermarket for Greek, Cypriot and Mediterranean foods and goods. Period! Lovely store. Glad they’re expanding to a 3rd location. Bravo! Kalh epituxia

Fill up on figs, feta, olive oil, carbonated water, Bulgarian yogurt and, if your heart desires, what I assume to be trashy Greek romance novels. The cashiers are helpful and sweet. Love this market.

Fresh Greek and Mediterranean specialty items, its as good as it gets. I was recently at a local market and bought half a pound of «premium» feta and paid about five bucks. The feta was flavorless. At Mediterranean I bought a half pound of Dodonis Feta, Greece’s best selling premium feta and paid the same amount. In a nutshell, Mediterranean Foods offers fresh specialty items for low prices by knowledgeable and freindly staff.

It is not my first on the list when I travel to Astoria, but occasionally I stop here to sample their olives. It is a small store with a large variety of East European products — which are not expired!!! Good variety of pita breads, puff pastry sheets for baking and all sorts of sweets. I bought their home made Taramasalata. Very tasty and well prepared(note: for people with low salt tolerance — be careful!).

Mediterranean Foods(it’s the original store, there’s a second one on 31st St.) is definitely the heaven for Greek and Mediterranean food specialties! Great selection of cheese, olives & olive oil, phyllo, puff pastries, pita breads, herbs & spices and many other necessary ingredients of the Greek & Mediterranean cuisine. All products are really fresh and cheaper than other Greek stores.

Nice selection of Greek products, notvas extensive as antitank or. maybe just more. crunched together. Like their selection of Greek cheeses. Nice staff. Only problem is parking but I guess this is Astoria.

This is the original Mediterranean Foods. Great prices on all kinds of Greek specialty foods… delicious olives, cheeses, tahini, wonderful fresh made, soft, fat pitas that I can no longer have :-(, various fresh made tzatziki and other dips, sweets, cookies, lots of various delicacies… The thing to get here that is the most wonderful is their homemade Taramasalata. It is the richest, creamiest and best I’ve ever had, with a really generous portion of the caviar in the mix.

Worth the trip over from Manhattan — an amazing selection of feta cheese and olives, with ridiculously low prices. Service at the cheese counter can be a little gruff, but they will give you samples if you ask with the appropriate steeliness.
