OK. You guys had a 1.5 star review already. But I still need to write this one. PLEASESTAYAWAYFROMTHESEPEOPLE. They will promise you something. Then after paying the application fee, everything will be changed lol. Problem shows up every day. landlord this, landlord that, Why don’t you tell me this before I pay? Do yourself a favor and stay away from them, please. As other people advised here as well.

saw an ad for an apartment online and responded within minutes after it was posted and the broker«Luke Hiram River» pointed the photos are of the actual apartment I got an appointment 11am: 1) I called while on my way to see which building exactly & he didn’t answer till 10:55am I got his text to push it an hour later making it 12pm! 2) I waited in the street yesterday from 12:00pm and he did not show up, and finally sent a message he’s there at 12:48pm VERYRUDE and unprofessional to say the least, when Luke did show up he seemed very pleasant it’s a shame how careless he was with me. 3) The apartment is gutted(so the photos were not the actual unit but of a similar one) so it should be ready in April… okay I didn’t mind that part since I have my current place till 3⁄31st. 4) I ask what is the fee, he sighs: A LOT well what is that supposed to mean… then mumbled something like 40% of annual rent!!! well I’d like a specific answer please so he told me he’ll email me al documents required for application in a «few minutes» since his office is near by… That was yesterday and he didn’t send anything I am very disappointed to have my time wasted and be treated without respect! Update: After ignoring my texts & emails to get the application I wrote this review and received a text & a call from the broker promptly enough after I posted it to justify the above experience and request removal, unfortunately I disagree. Apartment hunting is stressful & time consuming the whole point of a broker’s service is to be helpful & make it easier in exchange of a fee not to make it more miserable & difficult.

After reading the awful reviews for this place I consider myself lucky for the experience that I’ve had here. We all have to remember that apartment hunting in NYC is actually hell on earth, and there are NO good experiences. Ever. I worked with Elena Tsyganko here after working with Coldwell, Jakobson(THEABSOLUTEWORSTREALESTATECOMPANYINTHEWORLD), best apartments, etc. All of them have bad reviews, we just have to accept the pain in the ass that is real estate in this city. Anyway! I found my apartment on either craigslist or streeteasy, not sure which one but the point is I did not find it on their site. Once I saw it had just gone up I called the number on the posting(Elena’s) and she met with us twice that day to view it as my roommate and I couldn’t make it at the same time, so I appreciated that. We fell in love with it and wanted to put the deposit down, but because it was a Sunday all the banks were closed. Though the good faith deposit is usually $ 1,000 Elena let us only pay $ 500 because of ATM limits, again I appreciated that. The week after was an emotional rollercoaster of guarantors, applications, fees, etc, etc. The inevitable torment that comes with this process. Elena was patient and answered all our questions in a timely manner and let us work things out for as long as need. Now we FINALLY have our beautiful apartment and I move in today and Elena is being so awesome with the move and helping me move/store my stuff in her office while I transition. Basically, moving in this city is never going to be a good time. Pretty much every real estate company on Unilocal has bad reviews. Elena stood out to me in the sense that she was not trying to constantly blow smoke up our asses to impress us, fluff things up, lie to us, I feel very confident in saying she would NEVER show an apartment that was already rented or that wasn’t hers or even list one that she didn’t have, which I saw complaints of below. She also lowered our brokers fee! So, if you’re looking to move quickly and efficiently, call her! She’ll work for you and you’ll have fun with her in the mean time.

Elena responded to my first email but then has completely ignored my attempts to get in contact… I wonder if her listings are a scam?

These people are actually awful. I would be shocked if they’re still in business. Daniel Mirea showed up 2 hours late for our appointment and showed us one apartment that was $ 500 above our price range, after promising to show us 4 places. He was also hungover and had lost his phone at a bar the night before, so we couldn’t get in touch with him. I would give zero stars if I could.

HORRIBLEEXPERIENCE! In my 10 years in NYC I have never encountered such an appalling lack of professionalism. The agent that I had an appointment with to view an apartment, Daniel Mirea, failed to show up for our appointment without calling, explaining and apologizing. The next day, after a few infuriated phone calls to Jonathan(supposively the Agency manager), Daniel called me back, again not offering any explanation; we rescheduled for the following day and he failed to show up AGAIN! Unacceptable rude behavior… stay away!
