Really cool spot for a drink or dinner! It’s quite small, but super cool inside. The ambience was pretty chill but super trendy. There aren’t a ton of tables, but we walked in on a Friday night and got a table pretty quickly. The food was awesome. Burgers and brussel sprouts were amazing. Definitely recommend. Plus there’s an extensive beer and cocktail menu which is always a plus. The staff is also great. Very helpful and fun, and even let us taste various cocktails. Delicious.

Miller’s Near and Far is a small, cozy spot with a lot of character. It has mirrored ceilings that make the space feel extra roomy, and it’s bathroom which had been commented on more than once is definitely a head-scratchingly curious experience. I found the food to be pretty good, but not great. I had the happy hour cheeseburger and beer deal, which is a steal at $ 9. The burger was simply prepared and just not that memorable. I didn’t enjoy the pale white bun it was served on. I also got to try some of their«tator tots,» which I’d read about on Unilocal.I found them interesting but not super yummy. Overall, the food isn’t bad and you won’t be worse off for having gone. The service was also prompt and attentive throughout. It’s just not a spot I would go out of my way for, or strongly recommend. One additional perk though is that it’s just up the street from Morgenstern’s, so you can go grab an ice cream cone after your meal!

Had a pretty disappointing experience at Near & Far, the worst of which was food poisoning for my friend. We went in for a late lunch to find the place mostly empty, save a couple and a small child at a table and two pairs at the counter-top. It took a few minutes for the hostess behind the counter to turn around, so much so that I wondered if they were still open for lunch. She directed us to the last empty table(of three), which was directly below a speaker turned up way too high. Nice early 90’s hip hop selection, but I felt like I was going deaf just sitting there. Maybe cool for drinks if you don’t mind shouting, but during daytime, turn the damn music down so people can hear each other speak. The waiter must’ve been fired from Shopsin’s for being too much of a dick. Looked miffed when I asked what non-alcoholic drinks they had and my friend and I didn’t order alcohol. I know alcohol jacks up your tip, but we’re still ordering food. Also, as a burger place, you could offer milkshakes or egg creams or something besides standard sodas. Guy also did not look happy serving the table next to us with the little kid. Seriously, maybe they’re not your preferred super hip clientele, but it’s 2:30 and the place is mostly deserted, so would it hurt you to smile and be halfway pleasant? Anyway, to get down to the food. I had the Bialy Burger. Should have known something was up when it said Kossar’s Bialy, but Kossar’s is closed for several months for renovations. Bialy was fresh, but the fried egg was super runny and served in the center, taking away any appreciation of the crispness of the bacon weave(what it sounds like). Burger was also ordered rare and came out medium to medium-well. Would’ve sent it back but it took a good 5+ minutes for the waiter to reappear, so I just gave up and ate it. For a good take on a burger and fried egg, cheaper and with better fries, try Breakroom in Chinatown. Fries were well seasoned, but nothing special. My friend’s Patty Melt tasted better from the bite I had of it, but she started feeling sick pretty soon after and was vomiting all day and into the next day. So, yeah. TL;DR: Not worth it for the inattentive, unfriendly service, way too loud music and overpriced, questionable food.

Love this place and go there fairly often. The bartender(a cross between lady gaga/amy winehouse) is sweeter than a marsmallow. Everyone who works there is very nice. Small and intimate, great for a burger or just drinks. Also love the selection of music. Bathroom tv much cooler than the usual mirror. Highly recommend!

Dine at your own risk, such disappointing and rude service. The service is absolutely appalling. The staff act like they do not want to be there and even avoided me. I was told I could not order a Veggie Burger with Beef patty because the server did not know how to substitute patties in the system, or how much to charge me. I was also hassled about my preference for not wanting a potato bun before the server attempted to nickle and dime me. With so many places to enjoy a burger and beer, do not waste your time.

Haven’t read any reviews on here yet, but Miller’s bathroom is arguably one of the coolest places I’ve been to in New York. The mirror is made of two TV screens that stream a live surveillance camera view of your face. *Note: try not to use the restroom if drunk. I tried the N&F burger and the Brunch burger. N&F was pretty messy and the bottom bun was soaked in some sort of burger juice but it was still delicious despite having to wipe my hands after every bite. The Brunch burger is topped with an egg and a slice of cheese. Literally topped, like these things are placed on top of the burger. Silverware is needed but also this burger is a hell of an experience.

Impossible to find something about this place I don’t like. The ambiance — chill, unpretentious, simple yet super hip. The food came out super fast and my GOD it was good. Their burgers(we tried the N&R and Patty Melt) are Better than shake shack, better than in n out, hands down. Their fries? Oh my god … SUBLIME. Super crispy and perfectly seasoned. I didn’t take any pics of the food because it was so f – King delicious. Had a $ 6 Bloody Mary which was A+. The prices are extremely amazing considering the portion and quality of the food. The wait staff were also super attentive and nice. PS– check out their bathroom. Nuff said.

Came here for lunch and had the most delicious burger($ 6), sauteed mushrooms($ 2), avocado($ 3), and truffle fries($ 9). It was so juicy and moist. I have to say I was skeptical upon walking up to the place. It looks just like a place you would go for drinks and some munchies. My friend had the bialey brunch burger with an egg on top. Would definitely be back for more. Staff was nice too and constantly checking in on us while we were seated outside.

This place is great for classic cocktails and simple but complex dishes. Like there smoked trout tater tots! I would describe them as adult tater tots, since they have smoked trout In the top batch with trout roe and shaved green onions on top. Super bomb! Also there new cocktails, «Tropic Thunder, Coco Made Me do it, and Monks remedy» are the BOMB.COM. And best of all they just opened for Brunch and they have $ 6 bloody Mary’s, mimosas and a specialty cocktail. Can’t beat that! At the End of the day! This is a MUSTGO to bar/restaurant!!!

Went here last night to meet with the girls and ended up getting there in time for happy hour. We all went with the $ 9 burger and beer. Ordered a side a fries for the table. It was a really good simple burger for a great price. We stayed and met Alexander who is the owner or manager and he treated us to some of his new drinks they are bringing out in the fall. Everyone should check this place out. Its really chill, but they play great music. Great place to start your night off. And definitely go in the fall when their new drinks come out. All I have to say is Tropical Thunder! Thanks Alexander for being so great last night!

Another place I’ve only eaten at once but feel I can review because it’s a burger joint. Problem is that the burger really is very greasy – oilier than their stated mission of creating an homage to the fast food burger justifies – and the bun is like wonder bread; virtually zero seasoning in the burger. At 12 bucks for burger and glass of good granache during happy hour I couldn’t quibble – just with the burger quality(oil slicked).

Excellent burger and fries in a great location with a very pleasant staff. The meat is quality and the ingredients are all fresh. On a secondary note, the music is amazing at this place. They play great old-school rap that makes the cool place all the more enjoyable.

Came here late night after the bars and the bartender was super nice. Cute place. Got some delicious fries. Good music. Not crowded. Our friend says they have a good burger and beer special. I wouldn’t seek it out but if you’re out in LES and winding down this is a good spot.

I was in the LES working for a week, and my friend and I were looking for a small place to have a few drinks and unwind. After scoping a few super crowded bars, which we didn’t want, we walking by Near & Far and saw what seemed like a smaller more chill crowd, so we stopped in… One of the best decisions on a bar/restaurant I’ve ever made. The bar literally has 5 seats, but an amazing liquor shelf behind it, and an equally awesome beer selection. There are also a few seats/tables inside, and a great dining area on the sidewalk outside. The bartender that was on that night, Erica, immediately made us feel welcome and was extremely friendly. Their cheeseburger is definitely the food item that’ll keep me coming back here every time I’m in NYC, and the atmosphere and vibe is just as awesome. Since the first night we were there, we’ve stopped in every single night for food and drinks and it has been the perfect end to a night. All 3 bartenders that we met(Erica, Jade, and Sandy), are some of the best & friendliest bartenders I’ve ever had, and I wish more bartenders around the country were like them. If you’re in the area, absolutely stop in for a drink. If you’re in the Lower East Side at all, go out of your way to get here. If you’re a fan of an Old Fashioned, all the bartenders here make a killer one. And if you’re a bartender? Stop in and take notes. I will absolutely be going out of my way to come back here every time I am in NYC, not just for the food and drinks, but the friendly vibes and atmosphere.
