The guy who works there (Undu) is incredible helpful. I needed to install a couple of shelves in my new apartment. I bought all what I need it, but could afford a drill. I asked him if I could rent one, and he lend me one asking to return it to him next day for him! (I gave him a present next day :). This is the kind of small neighbor business that you are happy to support.

Thank goodness there is a hardware store in my new hood — and not just an all-purpose store. I needed a level to put together a closet set. I walked over after not finding one at the Paragon (shocking — I know!), told the super friendly owner I needed a level, he showed me the two sizes, I picked the smaller, he rang me up, smiled and told me to enjoy the lovely day, and that’s it. Easy, friendly, and reasonably priced.
The place is small, but fear not, it has the necessaries!

Open everyday. Helpful store clerk. Very personable. Reasonable prices. Takes credit cards. Bought some needle nose pliers and some wire cutters for a small charm necklace… I wanted to switch a charm from one necklace to another. Great service! Support local business!!!

At 7:30am as I was leaving for work, my key broke and a piece was stuck in the door’s lock. I was then locked out and had an emergency. I have always used high quality locks for my doors and have difficulty finding resonably priced items in Harlem. I went to 2 other hardward/locksmith shops before coming across Mini Saving Hardwards (almost 30 block saway from where I live). Not only did they sell high quality door locks, they even sold at a reasonable price. There installation price isn’t too bad either. Trevor Hardware store (10 blocks down) charged $ 300 for the same lock and $ 400 for the lock & installation. NUTS. After speaking to my locksmith to confirm the lock I would purchased was the highest grade, I walked back to mini hardware store and made my purchase. Lock was changed 7 repaired in the next hour.

Helpful, extremely friendly owner. Love having this shop on my block. The perfect stop for hardware odds-and-ends and most apartment repairs. Selection and price would earn it a 4, but the amiable owner puts it over the top.
