All of the drinks we tried were delicious. The holiday music and decorations really got me in the Christmas spirit. We all had a great time!

I’ve been ranting about how I haven’t been able to feel that«Christmas in New York» magic that everyone has been talking about… and then I went to Miracle on 9th Street. It’s Christmas time y’all. All I wanted to do was curl up in an ugly Christmas sweater and drink all the Christmas-themed cocktails. In terms of creative cocktails, the Redneck was the best. Served in a crumpled up Budweiser can, I spent the first five minutes laughing about how great it was. The Jingle Balls Nog was so smooth. I couldn’t even taste any alcohol in it. I would give the cocktails 4 stars overall. They were delicious and creative but didn’t stand out as craft. The vibes are great. It’s an entire immersion experience when you come here that makes the holidays feel like they are happening. And it’s preferable to dealing with the crowds around Harold Square. From presents hanging down from the ceiling to the overly frosted glass on the window, it’s all about Christmas(and there are Hanukkah-themed things too!) The wait can be long and it will be outside. Mace is a small spot so they try to keep some type of space in there by moving anyone without a table outside. If it’s cold outside and you are set in coming here, I would also recommend layering strategically cause can be a struggle to take off your jacket inside with the space restraint. Overall, I highly recommend this pop up. Between the vibes and the creativity put in each cocktail, it’s a spot that is worth the wait.

Meh I think this place is overrated. I love the whole concept of Christmas themed bar and music is great way to get you in Christmas spirits, however what they are missing is good spirits(no pun intended lol, considering they are right next to boutique liquor store). Cocktail is sub-par and overpriced, I ll not return here.

Having now experienced both of NYC’s holiday pop-up bars, I definitely have to declare Sippin Santa’s Surf Shack the winner. Comparatively, Miracle on 9th Street has fewer food options, less seating, a more complacent staffer manning the door, and is generally a little less zany and jovial. It’s still festive in terms of décor, but the clientele is oddly more stuck up. Miracle does have dreamier bartenders, though, who sure can sport a Santa hat well. So there’s that… As much as I love the holiday spirit, this place didn’t leave me hankering to come back for another 45-minute wait to get inside again any time soon. Though I’d probably be quicker to sing this place’s praises had I not experienced the superior counterpart first. The cocktail assortment is quite inventive, though. I tried the Candy Cane Fizz– a glorified mimosa essentially, with a hint of peppermint thrown in. Super tasty — and a pleasure to watch the bartenders whip up their creations with impressive speed.

sorry to be the Scrooge here but this place was so overrated. We waited for over an hour and a half, I got the egg nog drink and for $ 14 definitely expected it to be more than what I would call the size of a large shot, the Christmas music was on but very low, and the staff would not let my party move to a table that would have seated us all and instead kept us at the bar where we were in everyone’s way because it was meant for 3 people(3 seats) instead of 6. I get that it’s hard to accommodate so many people in such a small place, but we put in our wait time so it would have been only fair to give us a proper space. If you do go, I would drink beer because it’s $ 7 and you can still put that in a Christmas cup. They don’t advertise the beer but it’s there… and don’t go with a lot of people.

I’m a big fan of Mace, so when I learned about Miracle on 9th Street, I wanted to check it out. I came on a Friday with a friend who wasn’t able to get into it last year. Knowing there would likely be a line, we arrived at 5:30. At that point, there were about 4 parties ahead of us, and we waited around 30 minutes to get in. We could have gotten in a few minutes earlier had we been willing to stand, but we wanted to sit, so we waited the extra few minutes. Once inside, we squeezed into our little Christmas themed table spot at the front and perused the menu.(Aside: someone had«decorated» mine by adding a dick and balls to the Santa on the front. Alrighty…) My friend and I each got two drinks. First round: I had the Joyeux Noël(gingerbread calvados, spiced pumpkin syrup, egg, olive oil, cinnamon), which tasted very gingerbready and good. My friend got the Jingle Balls Nog(brown butter, fat-washed cognac, amontillado, sherry, pandan syrup, egg, hazelnut milk, clove, nutmeg), which I sampled. I thought it would taste like wine given the ingredients, but the predominant flavors were the butter and hazelnut(at least from the sip I had). Second round: I got the Candy Cane Fizz(peppermint-infused gin, buttermilk syrup, clementine acid, prosecco), which came with a candy cane on the side. I liked the drink, but the name is a bit misleading since it really tastes more like a mimosa. My friend ordered the Redneck Flip(bourbon, applejack, Budweiser-marshmallow syrup, beef jerky bitters, egg), which came served inside a dented Bud can(nice touch). I didn’t try it, but she said the marshmallow flavor came out in it the most. Overall, the drinks were enjoyable and the ambiance was fun and seasonal. The downsides are due to its popularity: waiting to get in and very loud inside. For those reasons, I prefer the regular Mace, but Miracle on 9th Street was a fun way to get into the holiday spirit.

What a cute place! If you love Christmas then you have to check out this bar at least once around the holidays. We got there around 7pm and the place was already packed with a short line in the front. The door man was friendly and did seem sympathetic to our wait. We were determined to try this place and finally made it in around 7:45. Because they control the crowd, the inside is busy but not packed to the point where you can’t move. Like every mentions, this is all decked out in a Christmas and Hanukkah theme. They have one page of unique drinks that are $ 14 each that all in line with the theme. My favorite hot drink was the bad santa which is served warm and similar to a hot cider. My favorite cold drink was the peppermint fizz which had a mild mint taste. I also tried the dreidel dreidel dreidel which just tasted like straight tequila. They don’t really serve food, but did see a small menu floating around with just cookies and chex mix. This place was awesome and I wish they had it all year long! I’d recommend trying to get there early to avoid the line.

Your typical Christmas themed bar complete with a Hanukkah corner. It’s adorable and the staff was friendly but the drinks are pretty pricy and extremely sweet which isn’t really my forte. But let’s face it you just came here for the Instagram photo anyway, right?

Oh what fun! For decorations, theme and atmosphere, this place gets 5 stars. My friends and I waited about 20 minutes to get in on Saturday night, but it was worth it. If you want to indulge in the season or feel like you need a push to get your Christmas spirits up, stop in. Christmas tunes are going, the staff wears Santa hats, gifts hang from the ceiling and wrapping paper lines the walls. It is cozy, comfy and cute. However, we found the cocktails to be a bit strange, hence the 3 star review. I tried the Joyeux Noël gingerbread drink. It had a very heavy salt taste to it which was unfortunate and overpowered the other flavors. I tried my friend’s Yippee Ki Yay which was almost like a pumpkin margarita — but I thought the pumpkin and lime flavors did not compliment each other well. At $ 14 a pop, I was hoping to be happier with the drinks. Seems like too many flavors are packed into each. Perhaps some of the others are better?

I had read recently about this bar reopening for the holiday season, and I was hoping i’d make it in. Luckily I found the perfect opportunity to go on their opening night. I had some family in town and we were having dinner somewhere kind of close by, so we stopped in right around 5, when they opened, for a pre-dinner cocktail. We actually were not the first people to arrive. There was a little line out the door, but I think it was only because they were just opening and trying to bring people in as groups and seat them. We were six people, and we were all able to grab seats at the bar. It was incredibly festive inside, which I loved! Lots of light, christmas music playing, and presents hanging from the ceiling. There was also a small Hanukkah section(yay Jews!) I took a look through the christmas themed cocktail menu, but decided I needed to try the Dreidel, Dreidel, Driedel. Besides for it being the only Hanukkah cocktail on the menu, it also had tequila in it, so it was just calling my name. It was chocolate gelt-infused resposada tequila, pedro ximenez sherry, maple syrup, and black walnut bitters. It was fun to watch the bar tenders behind the counter making the drinks, and some came in fun mugs or glasses. Mine came in a glass with santa on it, but they put a driedel on top for decoration. The drink itself was good, but I probably wouldn’t order it again. I think the maple syrup tasted the most prominent, and I definitely got hints of chocolate in the tequila. It was an interesting drink. The rest of my family either got the christmopolitan or the candy cane fizz. The candy cane fizz looked, and kind of tasted, like a mimosa and the christmopolitan was bright red and tasted fruity. Both were good choices. I think it was fun to go here for the holiday season. I actually attempted to go back again the next night, but we didn’t make it out till 2am, and that’s when they close apparently. oops. I might try again to go back before it closes since I like really festive places this time of year, and it was a much nicer experience than going to Rolfs.

Five star kitschy fun time holiday bar. I would come here in July(really, hint hint keep it open). Great, inventive drinks. Adorable interior. There’s even a Hanukkah corner! Tried the Joyeux Noël!!!, Muletide and Nog. All were great, but I would recommend Muletide if you’re looking for something refreshing after a milk-based drink. Timing wise, we went at 4:30pm on a Sunday and there was no wait, but that changed within 15 min. I do wish they had holiday snacks but I understand that would seriously hamper turnover.

SO fun for the holidays. The place is decked out in cute Christmas AND Hanukkah décor. The drinks are very witty and tasty. Unlike Rolf’s, they don’t serve dinner, but on the plus side, you’re not waiting in a massive crowd/line. It’s quaint and puts you in the holiday spirit. Just be prepared to make the hike out to Ave C.

Great festive drinks, awesome service. The bad Santa had a smooth kick buttery nut taste. The yippy ki yay was a citron rum taste. It was all around great a turn up!

I don’t know what these fine folks are doing with this space now, but consider this review my official public plea: bring this back this holiday(and every holiday) season! After a long travel day from Toronto to NYC(we drove, like family fun champions) we settled in for a boozy dinner with friends. After dinner we roamed the LES and Alphabet City for some holiday fun… and this place is the damn definition of holiday fun. We waited in line for a few minutes, and after a nice chat with the bouncer, we were comfortably seated and sipping on warming cocktails in a Christmas paradise. If anything on the below list does it for you, this place is going to knock your socks off: +Santa +Mariah Carey +Dolly Parton +Elves +Cookies +Jesus +Nog +Pine +Miracles

Holiday music non-stop, super boozy drinks, and it looks like Christmas threw up in here! Pure love! Miracle on 9th Street is so much win! This pop up bar concept that is all things Christmas, and Hanukkah too, is just all kinds of awesome! I’m all about the cheesy and kitschy bars and this theme here is so over the top that it wins on so many levels. It’s only open for a short time and actually closing today so be sure to get there early and partake in many awesome libations that will warm the cockles of your heart and send you home with a buzz. After this they are transforming into a full time bar based on spiced cocktails. Not too sure how that will go but I’m all for keeping the holiday theme all year round! How wonderful would it be in the hot humid summer to drop into an AC cooled Christmas environment for a cold cocktail listening to Bruce Springsteen sing«Santa Claus is Coming to Town? The guys working the door were so chill and worked with us to make sure we all had a seat when some arrived late. They would not seat us until all in our party arrived but held a table for us. Amazing service! The place is small as it seats about 50 but they pack so much in this winter wonderland. As we could see by the long lines waiting to get in they hit a snowball out of the park with this idea. We were first on line and as the steel gate was raised it revealed a whimiscal scene of holiday folly. We still had a ten minute wait until opening but couldn’t wait to get inside this magical scene. Pro tip — make sure you get there at least 30 minutes before opening to make sure you get in. I have heard the waits have been an hour on average it’s been so popular. Walking in we were greeted by a sensory overload of sights and sounds. Christmas decorations everywhere from floor to ceiling. Classic holidays tunes playing non-stop. Bartenders and staff with Santa hats on. Colored lighting and holiday memorabilia hanging all around. The cocktail menu is actually a Christmas card. The drinks are served in Santa mugs and old-school holiday cups. Heck, they even had a Hanukkah nook to sit in. Totally blown away by this snowstorm of merriment! Looking over the libation list each was $ 14 but oh so worth it. Of course I had to start off with the Bad Santa which was a hot rum drink that put the warm fuzzies in my belly on a cold night. It was served in a Santa mug too! Yes! I also tried the Redneck Flip which is a bourbon concoction served in a Budweiser can. Kid Rock would approve. Yum! Their Jingle Bells Nog was a super potent version of egg nog and full of good cheer. Another fav was the Yippie Ki Ya Motherf****r! which was a cold rum drink served in a Santa’s pants goblet. Just amazing! You can’t make this stuff up. Each drink was loaded with booze and prepared expertly. A few of our friends had the Mulled Wine Sour, Dreidel Dreidel Dreidel(yup, served with a dreidel to play with) and the Candy Cane Sangaree. Well, because Christmas! Yeah, you can say we drank a lot while we were here. Worth every penny. Be prepared to spend some coin here but it’s such a crazy fun atmosphere to do it in. Bring a date or come with friends. I’d say come with a party no bigger than four to get a seat. As the lines get long with people waiting to get in space is limited and they will ask for your table right away if you’re done drinking. Hey, it’s only fair, Christmas spirit and all. Also, they do offer some Christmas cookies and Chex mix on the menu to help soak up all the boozy goodness you’re gulping down. You’ll need it! Now get down there today and have Bad Santa slide down your chimney and into your lap! Just don’t blame me if you end up doing the walk of shame in Santa’s robe and the taste of candy cane on your tongue when he sends you home in the morning. Happy Holidays and Ho Ho Ho!

Do you like kitschy things? Do you like anything and everything Christmas-themed? Do you celebrate Hanukkah and don’t want to be left out of the holiday festivities? Do you like your cocktails served in Santa mugs or Budweiser cans with possibly a dreidel floating around inside? If you said yes to any of the above, then you should come to Miracle on 9th Street. This place is as cheesy as they come but it’s absolutely fantastic at the same time! The line is long so if you want a spot, I suggest getting there early. They also won’t seat you until your entire group arrives(sorry, Phil H.!). It’s pretty cramped inside but once you start drinking, that all doesn’t really matter. The place is decked out in Christmas & Hanukkah decorations from floor to ceiling. Each chair has a santa hat on it. The menu looks like the vintage Christmas cards your great aunt would send you with a check inside. Every cocktail is $ 14 but they’re strong and worth every penny. They also have a tiny beer list and some snacks. They ran out of cookies by 4:30 but they still had plenty of homemade Chex mix to go around! I tried 4 different cocktails and enjoyed each one. My favorites were the Dreidel, Dreidel, Dreidel(came with a dreidel inside and gelt on the side) and the Bad Santa(served in a Santa mug). This is one of those places that you must take photos of. They’re only open for another day so make sure to stop by before they transform into a regular, everyday bar.

Lovely new pop-up bar in the East Village. So glad I had a chance to visit before they close on 12⁄23. We arrived around 8PM on a Friday night and waited only 5 minutes for a table. We got lucky — a group was leaving right when we walked in. The line was super long outside by the time we left. No other bar can match up to the amount of Christmas cheer that this bar has. They don’t over-do the decorations & everything is carefully crafted: Christmas card menus, Santa mugs, gifts on the ceiling, Beach Boys Christmas album… you name it. Fa La La was my favorite drink, but everything I tried was amazing. Maybe it was the Christmas music, cozy atmosphere, good company… but all in all loved my experience here. Highly recommended!

I managed to drag my friends to this Holiday cocktail pop up bar all the way to the East Side(we’re way up town on the west side) and Im glad we did! Walked up on Wednesday night around 7pm and there was a 45 minute line wait outside the bar– the attention to service was on point though! The line was well managed and as you walked up to the line the staff would ask how many were in your party and would give you an approximate wait time. Walked in and the place is a Holiday dream/nightmare. I like when the Holiday Section looks like it exploded all over the place(Xmas & Hanukah were well represented), my friend affectionately described the place as «Xmas Tacky.» The best way I could describe this place is this where you would want your Ugly Xmas Sweater Party to be held. Also, the Holiday Playlist was solid as well. We tried the Fa La La, Jingle Balls Nog, Multide and Wise Man. Fa La La was refreshing and what I would call«Holiday Light» on this spectrum of Holiday Themed cocktails. Multide would be a step up from Fa La La. Jingle Balls Nog was Holiday in your Mouth and so delicious! Its a bit heavy so don’t let the small cup fool you. I was a fan of the aforementioned drinks. Not a huge fan of Wise Man — that frankensense smoke was overpowering for me(my friend enjoyed it though.) Drinks are 14 $ flat. Don’t forget tip. Although the wait is long(I get it because that way the bar doesn’t get uncomfortably crowded), the cocktails were solid and I would recommend this place for some Holiday Fun! Get here before Dec 23rd!

Miracle On 9th is a great blend of both Christmas and specialty cocktails. The cast behind Boilermaker is at it again with their next bar in alphabet city. With most things that get hyped up in the city that makes you wonder if it’s worth waiting in line for, such as a Cronut for example, the wait for this pop-up is only half as bad. We arrived on a mild weathered hump day around 7pm and were quoted 45+ minutes. All said and done, it was a solid hour but the door guy keeps everyone in the know about how much time left. There were folks that already waited at least half an hour and decided to scoot off. As you inch toward the door, you get to peer in the front window for this Christmas wonderland. The décor is so warm and inviting. Everything is Christmas, such as presents hanging off the ceiling, lights, tinsel and cinnamon candles abound. We had a bar stool seat so it was good to be right up by Santa’s helpers hailing from the Experimental Cocktail Club. I first went with the Redneck Flip and paced along steadily to get the Jingle Balls Nog and then a Muletide. Each had their own unique take on flavors, but I enjoyed the Jingle Balls Nog and Redneck Flip(despite being served in an actual can of Bud) the most. I figured that I need to spend at least double the amount of time in line in the actual bar sipping on these limited edition concoctions. My guest ordered up the Bad Santa, Candy Cane Sangaree, and Dreidel Dreidel Dreidel. I sampled a bit of each and the Dreidel Dreidel Dreidel won me over since I lean towards boozy drinks. This pop-up runs until December 23rd so if you’re a fan of either Christmas, Hannukah, specialty cocktails, or all of the above you will need to get over to this magical place.

Would you wait 45+ minutes for a pop-up bar in the rain? I did, and it was worth it. The host was very empathetic to our waiting in line for so long and kept us in the loop about the estimated remaining wait time. When we finally got inside, it felt pretty darn good. I’m not sure if the pop-up is a forerunner for a more permanent establishment, but having a holiday pop-up is a pretty ingenious idea. Taking over the space formerly known as Louis 649, the inside décor is pretty much all decked out in Christmas paraphernalia, with a small Hannukkah section in the back as well. It’s basically as if Santa Claus(and the Hebrew Hammer) vomited everywhere, in a good way. I often wonder if the staff would go crazy with the Christmas music playing round the clock, but they seemed to retain their sanity, so I guess not. Anyways, the cocktails were unreal. There were some very unique flavors, and there were ingredients we had never seen or heard of before like arrack or cacaçha. I started with the Wise Men, which was calvados, ginger syrup, and frankincense smoke. Definitely my favorite drink of the night. Deliciously sweet and smoky, and the aftertaste is everything you want in a holiday cocktail. Also got the Jingle Balls Nog, which was super creamy and rich, just what you’d expect from a good egg nog. I also tried the Bad Santa(a hot drink), which was also very buttery and rich, but also had a tropical taste to it. Also, the Dreidel Dreidel Dreidel was very interesting, and had a bit of a bitter finish, but also came with a chocolate coin. Should you wait in line to try these drinks? That would be an unequivocal yes. The drinks are definitely unique enough to warrant at least a try. Just make sure to budget enough time.

A bar where it’s always Christmas. Am I in Heaven? The North Pole? No… I’m on 9th and Ave C in Alphabet City. God bless the USA. The same crew behind Boilermaker on 1st and 1st have swooped up the old Louis 649 space creating a Christmas themed bar in its absence. Granted it’s a temporary pop up until they change gears after the new year, but it’s such a solid idea. All Christmas music, holiday cocktails, bartenders in Santa hats. I wouldn’t be mad if they just rode this wintery wave all year long, but I guess you don’t always get what you wish for. I suppose I’ll just have to live in the moment and enjoy this magical place before it’s gone. I can’t remember the name of the cocktail, but I enjoyed a frothy gem with Budweiser syrup and consumed in a can of Bud. It was amazing. They were out of egg nog during my visit, so I have at least one great incentive to return. Spiked, calorically dense cocktails are a weakness of mine. If you love the holidays, you’ll love this place. Get on it!

Is it 2014 during the Holiday Season and you’re in the East Village/LES? Then please go to Miracle on 9th street. Word has gotten out about this he so expect to wait anytime past 8pm but even still, it’s worth it. The crowd control keeps the inside tame and the vibe low key. It was def worth the wait to get in the door. The drinks are incredible and personally I started with the Mulled Wine Sour which was frothy, incredible, and should be in the running for best seasonal drink ever. It’s a perfect mix of sweet and strong. The place is decked out with Christmas decorations and non-stop Christmas music(props to the staff for putting up with what imagine to be hours of cheer).
