Tax season is the bane of my life. Firstly, I hate doing taxes. Secondly, I don’t have the time to do taxes. Thirdly, I have messed up my own taxes before.
Therefore I decided to go to a professional.
Miu & Company is very efficient and excellent. I only had to go to the office once to sign off. Prior to that, I just sent over everything by email. I had some questions and they were all answered in a timely manner.
I am so glad to have my taxes done by a professional who maximized my tax returns. Thank you and I will be back.

I usually just go to H&R block to do get my taxes done but it seemed like they charged a lot compared to filing my own online. I got a little frustrated when I tried to file my own and gave up because I didn’t know if I was doing it right — it was my first time filing 1099s. A friend recommended I try this place. It was cheaper than H&R block and no hassles.
There’s a deposit you pay when you leave them your documents, but its put towards your tax prep fee.
They e-​mail/​phone you if they need any additional info, you don’t need to sit around while they prep.
When my taxes were done in a few days, they gave me a call to come back in, explained the prep to me and answered any questions I had and gave me my documents back and I was all done.
It was pretty hassle free and I got to stuff my face in chinatown while I was at it.

I must have the worst luck in the world or this place is running a scam!
I have been doing my own tax for the last 10 years (I was an accounting minor in college), but I’ve decided to seek for an accountant advice as I was owing too much tax and wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. I was referred here from a co-​worker.
I called them one day in late February… the receptionist was very rude, she yelled «I am very busy, what do you want?». Ok chill lady, we are only in February, so if you can’t handle a few inquiries from your potential customers, you shouldn’t be working through the tax season.
I then stopped by the office few days later to drop off my tax return. They will demand a $ 50 cash only payment before you even get to speak to anyone. fine, it was disclosed to me up front so no biggie. Once I made the payment, I was allowed to enter the office. I was shown to a room full of 3 – 4 very young looking individuals typing away at the desk. I was asked to select whoever I wanted… I picked a young lady that happened to look up at me, she looked friendly enough! (This whole process sounded so wrong as I am describing it). I then went downstairs with this lady and sat down to walk her through my return. She looked very young… like a high school student. She told me she will be inputting all my data into the system for her manager to review. and then the CPA will sign off.
The next morning, I sent her the missing file that she requested and I never heard from them until I checked in again 2 days later. She said she never got my email so she did not start working on my return. I was very specific that I was leaving town in 3 weeks so I needed fling to be done before that. She then checked her junk folder and found my email (argh!). I would then call her every 2 days to check on the status but the answer would always be the same. it is almost done. I finally got a call 2 weeks after my initial meeting from the office for me to pick up my file. When I asked what the end result was, the person told me I will find out from the accountant when I go in.
When I went in on a Saturday to pick up the file. the accountant wasn’t there so another person gave me my filing and the liability to the IRS was $ 4000 higher than what I computed on my own via H&R Block. I questioned the firm on why this was the case and when they finally figured it out, it was because they had mis-​inputted some entry. Mind you, this was signed by the CPA and I was assured that the manager had reviewed it. Not only that the firm couldn’t find me any saving, if I had blindly trusted them with my return, I would have overpaid $ 4000 to the IRS and still have to pay Miu & Company $ 250 filing fee (vs. $ 39 from H&R Block)! EEK!

I wanted to find a new CPA. Unless you have your end of year W2 summary ready, they won’t talk to you until January Their response is that they are busy and call back then.

After our last tax accountant lost his mind, it was time to get a new one. Being a trusting Unilocal reviews fan, I decided to give Miu and Co a chance. Since I was bit skittish due to last years fiasco, I actually went down to their office for a look see and cost estimate. They seemed organized, knowledgeable and gave me a reasonable estimate so I came back the next week with all my tax info. I met with the head honcho CPA and a staff member, submitted my stuff, asked for some advice, got advice back and was told to come back in a week. Lo and behold, taxes are finished, I got a refund (yay!) and a yummy chinese lunch! Highly recommended and will be going back next year! As other posters have recommended, bring all your tax info, prior tax returns, your questions and you should have a headache free tax season.

I hate doing taxes. Not a big fan of learning and dealing with it even though my tax is pretty easy. However, I am not a big fan of paying $$$$ for H&R as well. so what did I do?
I found out this place through my friend and I made an appointment to do my taxes here. Tips to speed up the process:
— bring all your w2
— your past year taxes
— anything that you think it might get you a deduction
I basically just hand in everything and they finish my taxes on the same day. I just have to go up and sign my name after work and they e-​filed it for me. I receive my refund in less than a week!!! YES!!!
Another tip is also go before their busy season. before march. I know a lot of people will only do their taxes at the final moment. but why wait? who doesn’t like to finish their taxes as early as possible.

— knowledgable accountants. they research my taxes and making sure everything is good and told me that my taxes are completed but I need to hold on because they want to make sure everything they file is correct. I don’t mind waiting because I want more refund of course!!!

I’ve had my taxes done here the past two years. They were recommended by a friend whose family has been using them for business taxes for years. They have them done fast, with minimal effort on my part, and they’re all business. Just the way I like it.
Some of my friend think it’s strange that I get my taxes done in Chinatown because they have this idea that some language or cultural barrier exists — definitely not the case — I don’t speak any Chinese that isn’t found on menus, and I’ve had no problems here.

I am not a fan of doing quarterly taxes. Wait, I’m not a fan of doing any taxes. Owning my business causes me to push my workload of taxes onto someone else. That someone is my accounting office. They are great. If I need something written to prove my income, they do it same day. If I need my taxes done, they get it done quickly and inform me of the details by e-​mail. Highly recommended to anyone wanting their taxes done correctly and efficiently.
