Just passed by Mk salon and I love it here. Marshal my barber always help me figure which blade to use. It’s not I have a jewfro but still helps me with esthetics. It’s close to the subway. And we always chat about business and work. I feel like this place has something to offer and these sits next to me should be full to the max. Friday here I come!

Kim has been cutting my hair since I was 3 years old. 25 years later I see him every other week, fantastic haircut, great guy and great salon. A true gentlemen and runs a great business. Since going to Kim I have recommended 10+ of my friends and family that also see him regularly!

I have been going to Liza for my blowouts for about 10 years. I followed her from her last salon. She does an amazing job on my hair ALWAYS and she is always so very pleasant. I send all my out of town friends to her and they all rave about her. I recommend going to Liza if you need a truly great blow dry.

I had let my hair grow too long, looking for a new hair person. Saw the sign, since I am often nearby. Looked at Unilocal and Unilocal!re: reviews of Liza, but thought those were outweighed by others and I wasn’t getting a color job. So glad I went. Not only is this the most comfortable, friendly salon in the city, Gail gave me the best haircut I’ve ever had. My hair has a new home.

For 2015 I set out to help people in need. Throughout my life I have volunteered and have done charities, but for 2015 and beyond I wanted to truly focus on helping those in need. The first donation I chose to give was my hair. I have always preferred my hair long, but for this cause I was willing to cut it short. I donated a total of 11 inches of my hair to a charity named Locks of Love. But to go through with this donation, I needed a salon to cut my hair. I started to do research, I found a few places that cut hair for charity but something caught my eye about this specific salon, I believe it was the reviews on Unilocal.I decided to try this salon. I went there on a monday and just managed to get there before they closed for the night. When I first walked in two people(One, Marshall Kim and a woman whose name I can’t recall) who worked there asked very politely what I needed help with. I explained to them about donating my hair to charity and they generously gave me an appointment for the following day. I come in 20 minutes earlier than my appointment had been scheduled for and the lady who worked there(Very kind lady), attended me immediately. A man named Marshall, whom I believe to be the owner, came to me and began to compliment my thoughts to donate. He then began to explain to me his own charity in support for his home country Cambodia. He is a very thoughtful man who also strives to help those in need. The lady who cut my hair was very professional and an extraordinary hair dresser. I recommend her highly(Her station is the last chair across the shampoo area). After cutting my hair(to donate, the hair has to be measured at least 10 in and tied in a ponytail to be cut correctly), she shampooed my hair and cut it to a style that she recommend. While having my hair cut, I noticed customers being treating professionally and with such kindness by the staff at MK salon. Everyone seemed content with the atmosphere(might I say, is very neat & comfortable yet fashionable). When she finished, I smiled in delight. The style she recommended was very nice and looked great. I recommend this salon highly to anyone. The people who work there have the heart of gold.

I have had Marshall cut my hair since before he opened his first shop. He is top notch, keeps me in style and has a world perspective not to be missed. His shop is on the second floor near Bloomingdale’s and I have no reason to ever go to that neighborhood. Yet ever 60 days I make my pilgrimage to his shop. Its my highest recommendation.

MK Salon is a great little find in nyc. I have been using the same barber for years named Danny. He does a great job every time and he has a great sense of humor. One way to find Danny there is to find the booth with the stuffed animal that says«I’m a beautician and not a magician» :) MK has an excellent mix of beauticians and barbers and from top to bottom they are all a very pleasant and happy team that will work hard to please their customers.

Liza is the worst hairstylist that I have been in NY. She did a poor job coloring and cut my hair. When I complained with the owner, he was very rude.

The salon is great, never have to wait, Marshall Kim runs an excellent business. Liza has been coloring my hair for twelve years. She does a fabulous job and I get compliments abut it all the time. I have sent her many customers — all satisfied plus! Great salon, great service.

I used Liza. She did an AWFUL job coloring my hair. When I came back next day to ask for a correction, Liza and the owner told me that they wouldn’t do it. The owner told me that having 2 different colors in my hair looks very nice! Yah, maybe for a 20 years old girl, no a more mature business woman.

The owner, Kim, has been cutting my hair since I went to a pediatrician. As a matter of fact, we referred his kids to my pediatrician. So I suppose I’ve been going to him since before he went to my pediatrician, too. Excellent styling, men and women. Full coloring, nails, etc on site for those interested. I’ve just experienced hair-life at the end of his scissors, so I cannot speak with authority on his other services, but his clientele always seem quite content. Everyone in there is a regular and Kim knows them by name. Like Cheers. Not only is Kim an excellent barber, he also is a travel agent for trips to Cambodia. Get your hair cut in mid-town and plan elephant treks to the beach. Talk about multi-tasking.
