So I tried this food car out today & it was a pleasant experience. I got the pulled chicken in parmesan cheese with rice, onions, peppers cilantro and cilantro sauce. It was $ 12 for a basic portion. The food was prepared well, presented nicely and tasted so delicious. I ate all my food in one sitting and enjoyed it. I wasn’t a fan of the price I feel like it could have been worth it if it were $ 8 or $ 9 but $ 12 is a bit expensive. All in all, if I’m really hungry I’d probably eat there again. There are a few other choices they sell pork, tacos and a steak dish. Maybe I will try the steak dish next. What made me very happy was that they accepted credit card! I do not know of any food trucks that game card and apparently I’ve now found one! That’s a great plus. On top of that, the service was great. I was served in under 3 minutes and the employees were super nice. They each greeted me with a smile and asked me before they put anything on my food.

I must say that I keep coming because I like the food. The lomo is a great meal — rice, protein, veggies and a great sauce that brings it all together for about $ 10-$ 12. They also have tacos that are small but good. The shells are doubled but I am a petite girl and the two tacos are just not enough as a meal for me. Two tacos are $ 6. The truck doesn’t usually have a line like the others do in this area, but don’t be fooled by that if you are in a rush. They make the food to order and the wait time can be in line with the busier trucks around. On the plus side — they take credit cards which is nice. If you like Peruvian food, the weather is nice and you have a few minutes to spare I would recommend giving this place a try.

I consider Peruvian food to be one of the best around the world and I have to say Morocho does a good job representing peruvian food. I tried the lomo saltado taco and the pork taco. The first one was my favorite because it gives you the real flavor of an authentic lomo saltado. The chunks of steak were big enough to taste all the flavors. The pork taco was good but it was more fusion not too authentic from peruvian cuisine. I was expecting to taste something different. In overall, I loved the experience at morocho and definitely come back. Oh if you don’t like spicy, do not put the sauces

Try their hongo and carnitas tacos(no regrets!). Their papa a la huancaina I hear is the bomb diggity — I will be the judge of that would next time around but won’t doubt the deliciousness and joy that my friend experienced. Enjoy them tacos(and potatoes) while sitting at the park across the street or venturing out at Union Square.

This is 5 star food at a 4 star price. Fresh ingredients, creative fusion dishes and good service, but coming from a cart after tax it’s almost 11 bucks for most of the menu, which is just a little too steep imo. The Chicken Saltado is packed with savory spicy flavors in a huge portion. You could probably share it unless you’re starving. The poor man’s burger was delicious once i managed to get my mouth around it. Very large, very messy, very tasty. The fried banana mixes beautifully with the egg and cilantro.

I tried this the food and was really skeptical reading the menu LOMOSALTADOTACOS? that’s not peruvian we don’t eat tacos. Me being peruvian born in Peru. I tried the AJIDEGALLINA it was ok and pricey. This guy is just inventing food I felt real disappointed.

Slightly before lunchtime each day, a host of food trucks jockey for position in Midtown to serve the throngs that hope to grab a quick lunch to take back to the office. Occupying its spot on 52nd and 6th is this little gem of a Peruvian food truck. Skip the tacos and plates and go for the either the Poor Man’s Burger or the Pork Belly. The prices are a bit on the high side, but what you get are some delicious pieces of meat on a bun with gourmet toppings, not the bland junk many other trucks offer these days. The pork belly in particular is my go-to lunch. Served with spicy mayo, it melts in your mouth with fatty deliciousness. Mmmm. get it.

This truck seems to have relocated permanently(?) to 52nd and 6th Av, right outside my office building. I’ve loved Peruvian food ever since my trip to Peru, so I was psyched to check it out. I got the Aji de Gallina, a giant plate of chicken and rice for $ 10. The sauce was cheesy and spicy and creamy, and it was good, but without the sauce, the chicken would’ve been very bland. Also, with tax it came out to almost $ 11, which is my internal tipping point for saying this costs too much. $ 10 is ok, $ 11 is not. My co-worker got the Peruvian burger last week and said it was amazing. The only reason I’m deducting one star is because they charge tax on top of the listed prices. WHA??? Food trucks do this? I had run downstairs from my office and only had a $ 10 bill with me. Luckily I was able to scrounge up some change. Just be aware.

Considering that it’s a street vendor and the not so cheap prices, we passed by the first time, taking note of it. Then we came and got the Lomo Saltado and the Aji de Gallina. The wait was long, but the food was cooked and prepared in front of us, the staff were friendly, and the quality was amazing. The Lomo Saltado was cooked perfectly, with an excellent blend of sauces — better than many restaurants. The Aji de Gallina was also quite good. Portion sizes were very good and the flavors were amazing. I highly recommend it.

Sometimes it only takes just the right meal to bring a guy to his senses. Better yet if it comes on wheels. Reigning from the great food cart Meca of Portland OR, I have come to expect a lot from mobile gastronomy, but it always boils down to unique flavor and quality ingtedients that make an impression last as you walk away. literally. Trying both a chicken and pork taco, I got fresh Ingredients(like asparagus) and a large portion of each. Satisfying and delicious. Thank you guys for bringing such a satiating delight to such a stimulating place as NYC!

I discovered this truck one night on my way to purchase chocolate from my favorite candy shop. I was starving and saw a unique food truck that caught my attention… decided to order the steak tacos. The guys were THEFRIENDLIEST food truck guys EVER! They were more than happy to engage in conversation while I waited for my tacos…(a huge improvement from the usual creepy dudes serving up the usual halal). The tacos were the best ive EVER had! Steak was ACTUAL real meat… tender and seasoned perfectly… and the Lomo sauce inside it was the icing on the cake! I live in BK and make special trips to eat their delicious food! Definitely worth the trip! Im a customer for life!

Food trucks are one of those things that I don’t quite understand. Specifically, food truck prices. In my mind, the entire point of having a truck(or a cart) is not just mobility, but also price. Your overhead is so much smaller, so shouldn’t your food be cheaper than actual brick & mortar locations? No? Well, I tried. I suppose being parked on the most expensive island around means you can charge $ 10 for a quesadilla. And I’m not even mad, because the Lomo Saltado Quesadilla from Morocho is DELICIOUS. Stuffed with tender marinated steak, onions, scallions, cilantro, garlic, tomatoes, some soy and oyster sauce(I think that’s the fusion)…it’s cheesy, meaty, overflowing with flavor, and no doubt incredibly fattening. It’s almost big enough for two people to split it for lunch, so I guess it might even be worth $ 10.

Its a great idea but the execution was totally bad! I had the carnitas tacos, sounded exciting until I reached home and had it, NOTIMPRESSED! Its just pulled pork with bbq sauce and add some onions cilantro, corn tortilla and tomato makes it a taco but where’s the peruvian flair? I could have made this at home. Thankfully it was only 6 bucks, smh!

Not a big fan of organ meat, but hey I try to keep an open mind on things and decided to give it a go with the veal hearts. At $ 8 an order for veal hearts you know you are in NY. A little crunch(not like potato chips) which you would expect with hearts. Seems like a NY version of Peruvian food to me.

Delicious, but pricey. The tacos here are really expertly prepared. The guys working the truck sure know how to cook and they are also really nice. They have good suggestions, work hard to please and even modified an order to accommodate a food allergy. I really liked my husband’s modification and it could even be a new menu item. I got the mushroom tacos with crème fraîche. The corn and mushrooms were cooked perfectly. I couldn’t believe they were regular old button mushrooms. The chef brought it to new heights. The chica morada here is a tasty beverage to go with your tacos.

I tried their burger(touted as one of the top 10 burgers this year as proclaimed by the Village Voice) and was sorely disappointed!!! The bread was on the stale side, the beef patty was extremely salty and crumbly(read very dry). The burger’s only saving grace was its perfectly cooked over-easy fried egg. The fried plaintains were the ‘fusion’ twist to this burger and it is a good idea but then with a burger so badly made, I’m not gonna wanna get this ever again.

Well my other half read about this truck on a review they just had on a newspaper. He’s been very excited about it especially since he’s peruvian :) we finally got to try it today and it was AMAZING!!! And explosion of flavor! I ordered the Anticucho and he had the Lomo Saltado taco. I love offals and trying this Anticucho which consists of grilled veal heart marinated in a soy sauce based sauce served with a boiled purple potato and choclo(Peruvian Corn) topped off with an amazing green sauce that I can seam to pronounce! The Taco was far from forgettable the still sizzling steak was sautéed with tomatoes, onions and scallions with a splash of soy sauce and laid on top of a tender corn tortilla. Over all for another food truck entering the NYC seen I think they really have a shot! The menu is small but delicious and well put together! Their hours are funny but they are trying to keep up with demand… So hit this spot early if you want some great Peruvian food! Love and Food = Life… come on’ enjoy it!

The scene: Me(Indian dude from Philly) walking with girlfriend(Peruvian chick from Miami). Walking to a Peruvian food truck with my Peruvian girlfriend a few blocks from my apartment. Winning. Discovering that this was right next to an Indian food truck. Winning. Noticing that on the other side was a Philly Cheesesteak food truck. Head explodes. Food was quite average. Disclaimer: We tried the most American thing on the menu, a burger. Will update in the next few weeks when I undoubtedly try something else.

$ 6 for a tiny portion. The workers were friendly. It was very tasty, especially the Peruvian corn, I need to find out where to buy it. Overall, my snack wasn’t worth $ 6 but if spending that kind of money doesn’t really affect your financial standing, I say, try something new! Also they have some odd hours. They were closing around 4:30pm on a Friday. I’m not sure what days they’re at Union, but it seems to be with all the other trucks.

I spotted these guys on Union Square West. I’d never seen them before, so it’s possible they get around. Had the Quesadilla Hongos. Now, I will say, I don’t think these were real corn mushrooms(I believe they were buttons) but on most levels it didn’t worry me. They were marinated in something salty and excellent, and paired up to wonderful effect with asparagus and melted cheese. I will also carp about the tortilla, which I believe came out of a bag(boo), as did the cheese. But the bottom line is, the quesadilla was a triumph of texture(cleavy, cellular mushrooms, fibrous, tender asparagus, melted cheese and a crispy tortilla) and flavor, and set me back a mere seven bucks. tl;dr — Unless you’re truly hardcore about ingredient sourcing, eat here.
