I’m a fan of this truck but it is no longer on 47th. We haven’t been able to find it anywhere.

I have to give them 3 starts because they are quite flavourful for cart food. I went there around 1:30 Pm and most stuff was gone, so I check to see what was available and went with the Vegetable and Tofu Red Curry. I ordered it extra spicy so they dumped a lot of green peppers in my curry… nice. They also give you a load of rice more like 2 ½ cups in a regular Thai restaurant. I check the ingrediants they are using for the curry, it was the spanish coconut sauce(quite thick…), they are also generous with the oil that floats up on the curry whihc I dumped out before eating. The Flavour is very nice, the Tofu is good quality and the decent mix of veggies, bamboo shoot, mushrooms, baby corn & pumkin however the traditional galang ginger and fresh lemmon grass was missing but may have been an ingradient in the sauce, over all a very satisfying Thai meal for 7 $. I will definitly return and try some of the other dishes on offer. This is good value in Midtown east however in Midtown west it may not be because a lot of sitdown restaurants offer good Thai for 7:50 a plate with an appatizer thrown in.

Saw this cart and mistook it for the original Tuk Tuk boy. I was craving pad thai and didn’t want to go all the way to 8th ave or 9th ave or even 55th street. this cart was located on west 50th streeet today(or there is another one) and there was a long line, which I thought was a good sign. After I get to the front fo the line, I asked for pad thai and they said they don’t serve pad thai. He even told me to go to the other thai cart, which I didn’t know was the«first tuk tuk boy.» It looks like they only serve rice dishes here as most people ordered fried rice. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and boy this is the most pedestrian thing I have eaten in a long time. Reminds me of my own cooking when I was in college and fiddling around with stir fry. Not good. This dish consisted of whtite meat chicken lightly coated in a «teriyaki» sauce and some seasame seeds(see pic). This shouldn’t even be called teriyaki chicken. On the side, you get some lettuce. That’s it. Served over rice. For $ 8? You can get restaurant food at a nearby thai restaurant for $ 8. I got robbed. Don’t go to this place. I’m going to stick with the real thai places a few blocks away.

I have walked by this truck a zillion times and today I took the plunge. So glad. I asked for Thai spicy and actually got it. The chicken and vegetables were cooked perfectly as was the sauce and noodles. $ 7 for a delicious lunch. I may go back tomorrow. Nice people on truck too.
