This place is really empty during brunch. Albeit we came here early but we left when it was late and there weren’t that many patrons. Just a handful. It is like they didn’t expect much turnout as there was just one waitress. Also a bit hard to locate with the underground location. I had the poached eggs and my friend had the chicken soup. Every dish looks like a Michelin chef made it. Really, just aesthetically beautiful. But alas, the portions resemble Michelin chef portions as well. Like the poached eggs dish had only one poached egg. Not two, but one. It felt like an appetizer. I’m not a fan of having brunch and then having to go home and eat again. The taste of the food was okay. Not bad, not great, but I found the poached eggs dish rather salty. All in all, I kinda wished I had gotten a pasta dish instead. They only seemed to have French toast and the poached eggs as real brunch dishes. Everything else was more like lunch/dinner food. They seem to expect you to order wine with your brunch but I don’t think most Americans are accustomed to having wine at brunch. It seems as odd to me as having beer with brunch. To make it even stranger, they did not have orange juice. I know this place is trying to be European but not having orange juice is just un-American. On an upside, prices here are reasonable and the décor is nice. Modern, metallic and with a cool look.

This place is supppeeerrr awesome! Definitely has a cozy and intimate feel when you walk in. My friend and I came for dinner with a reservation and were promptly seated. We had quite a few questions about the menu, since everything is S /M /L and the waitress was excellent in describing quite specifically the amounts of each dish so we knew exactly what we were ordering. She recommended to go with a larger size of a couple dishes and she ended up being right — the portions were perfect. We had the small san daniele’s miracle which was served either open, or they offered to sandwich it and cut it in half. The prosciutto on this sandwich was AMAZING. The foccacia was soft and salty and buttery… it was incredible. Then we had medium ravioli cacio e pepe which was also a 10. The filling in the ravioli was subtle and peppery, and the green pea purée was incredible. Next was the medium polpetta which were served with a few sauces, all of which we gobbled up. They were super tender and tasty. Last was the medium gnocchi which had a very small amount of sausage, but was complimented nicely with the zucchini and parmesan. We chose some pricey wine at $ 20 and $ 18 per glass, but it was well worth it to try glasses you’d commonly have to have by the bottle. We each ended up having 3 glasses — which we totally should have just gotten a bottle but oh well. Service was friendly and descriptive and I will absolutely come back to try the other offerings on the menu!

For a 2 Michelin Star rated restaurant, I expected more than I received! Food is so whack, for a lack of a better term! If you’re a drinker, vino should be the only reason to come here, otherwise, food isn’t Michelin Star rated at all.

Unique setting, over 100 bottles by the glass. Variety of food options. Recommend spaghetti in tomato, octopus, meatballs, gnocchi. Very strong wine list with great recommendations from waitress. 6 people, 7 entrees, 3 bottles — $ 600+

I loved this place. We were early to meet friends so sat for a glass of wine at the bar first — I asked for a crisp, refreshing white and the bartender nailed it first time. Our friend had booked a small back room(‘the library’?) which was so lovely and cosy and private. The room had two comfy leather sofas at right angles with a small table — you could probably fit 6 people but it might be a bit cramped, especially when the food starts coming out. The food was really very good — the hibiscus risotto and the ravioli stood out for me. We had some different red wines with dinner and again the recommendations were perfectly on point, the wine was delicious and a bit different. I will definitely be back to eat and drink more.

Food is wonderful. Romantic setting. Cache de Pepe is the best! Visit rather than take-out… Ordered meatballs… Smokey flavor, not a fav Pappardelle absolutely delicious. Take-out portion was minuscule … So disappointed because it was so tasty!

Came here with my wife for pre-dinner drinks before my father-in-law’s birthday dinner, and thoroughly enjoyed the wine and appetizers I sampled. I would definitely come back here for dinner! FOOD: every dish comes in small(to taste), medium(dish for one), and large(dish to share with several people), which makes it easy to taste more of what they have to offer. As we were headed to dinner, we kept it light and ordered a small portion of the prosciutto and burrata on focaccia and the meatballs. Everything was excellent. The meatballs were not overcooked, the prosciutto was fresh, and the burrata was deliciously creamy. I can’t wait to try their salmon and ravioli dishes! DRINKS: there is no shortage of selections no matter what kind of wine you fancy. Every option is available by the glass or bottle, so you will not be limited by the few selections offered by the glass as you would in many other establishments. I went with a Barbaresco(you can’t go wrong there), and did not regret my decision in the least. They also provide you with a good pour, so you will not be paying out $ 12-$ 15(and up for the more expensive wines) for a tiny sip. PRICES: these prices are more on the high end scale because that is what is offered. For example, they offer an incredibly expensive Brunello di Montalcino, and having just returned from Italy back in August where we purchased a case of 6 bottles of this exact wine, we can tell you that it is an expensive wine. The food is also more pricey than at a typical wine bar, but judging from the dishes we tasted on this visit, it’s worth it. Still, be aware that this is a more expensive outing than one would normally have at a «typical» wine bar or restaurant.

There comes a time when a restaurant exceeds my expectations and last night this place did just that. From the moment I walked in until I left this restaurant they went above and beyond and delivered an incredible meal with outstanding service. Why I never knew about this place is a shame because I could have been enjoying this place a lot longer. I ordered almost everything on the menu and every time a new dish arrived I had so much excitement because I knew each dish was going to be delicious. I’ve attached pictures to show you some of the great dishes. If you want a great meal with delicious wine and dessert then this is the place to check out. You won’t be disappointed until the meal is over because you’ll want more. To the staff and cooking crew I applaud all of you! I’ll be back for sure!

Great spot in Chelsea. When you walk down a small flight of stairs you enter this cool little trattoria that feels like home. Big bar and window seating as well. Really nice wine list that someone put tons of time into. Found a perfect rose and a nice Chardonnay for my wife. Small menu that I can’t wait to try. We had these meatballs that were outrageous!!! So much going on for a basic dish. Start there and go nuts after. Well done chef!!!

Quaint little spot off the beaten path in the meatpacking district. Excellent wine selection. Charming décor. Creative food. Carbonera with the secret au jus will keep you coming back for more. The sage on the eggs with polenta was memorable! Delightful experience.

I came here for a holiday dinner with my three best friends. The restaurant itself is beautiful. It’s downstairs and easy to miss if you’re walking by. The restaurant had a nice extensive wine list. The server was very knowledgable about the wine. We ordered a Sangiovese blend. We loved it. Everything on the menu could be ordered in three sizes. The smallest size is a bite size, the second size is the size of an appetizer and the large is an entrée size, good for sharing. We ended up ordering things to share. We had the risotto, grilled octopus with potatoes, gnocchi, lamb chops, and a donut stuffed with cheese. The octopus was cooked very well and had a lot of flavor. The risotto was cooked with hibiscus, so it was actually a deep pink color. It had goat cheese and walnuts. The gnocchi was delicious! It was cooked with Italian sausage and saffron. Lastly, the lamb chops were cooked perfectly and tasted great. For dessert, we had the snowflakes, which was shaved almond ice with whipped cream and pistachio. It was unlike any dessert I’ve ever had. I really enjoyed. I would definitely return to this restaurant!

This is one of my favorites in the city for Italian! My boyfriend and I have dined in the main room as well as the rear library. Both locations are super romantic. The most memorable dishes are the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese and the Octopus Alla Genovese. I enjoy them so much I usually order large for myself! When I’m not being too greedy for entrees, my favorite dessert is the tiramisu — served in a bowl with delicious chocolate crunchies its unforgettable.

Excellent and super delicious food. Nice ambiance and music. Taglietelle a la Bolognese is a must along with the Polpetta. The doughnuts are a nice appetizer to order too. Wide selection of wine. Will definitely come back again.

It was a weird experience the idea is ok but the experience is awkward. A hipster trendy place. Were you are supposed to share but the servings are way to small even the large one which is supposed to be for 3 or 4 people is basically for 1. The presentation of the food was amazing the bolognese spaghetti came inside a tomato. In general the good looked really good but it did not tasted great. So it looked amazing but tasted just ok. So I will say we found it too pretentious and expensive.

Great wine list, but not worth passing up other more reputable restaurants in this neighborhood. A.) The service is in need of improvement. There were [maybe] 4 people in the restaurant yet we had to wait at least 15 minutes for our wine. They also never came by during the meal to ask us if we needed anything(i.e. a refill of the water bottle). Our waiter also did not mention the separate truffle menu options. B.) There is no rhyme or reason to the portions on the menu. There is a ton of guessing involved with regards to what constitutes a dish to be worthy of a sm/md/lg. Note– if you order a small pasta, you will get one or two bites tops. C.) If I am only getting a small portion, it should at least make me pause and appreciate the bite. I was let down with everything we had, save for the awesome focaccia and oils. I can see myself popping in for a quick drink at the bar, but will not be back to dine anytime soon.

This is my favorite spot to hit up any night of the week. It’s perfect spot to catch up with friends or hold a work event. There’s a gorgeous dining room to hold for events with family and friends. I love to hop in to grab a glass of wine at the bar. Order one of their red wines pairing with the best pastas in all of Nyc — ravioli cacio & Pepe and Tagliatelle Felicetti Alla Bolognese. Don’t forget to try any of the desserts!

Chef Davide Scabin from Italy’s Combal. Zero restaurant helms this high-end, below-ground Chelsea Italian. In a wine-centric twist, customers order vino first, then the staff helps to pair dishes(in small, medium and large sizes) ranging from traditional pastas to more adventurous combos, some straight from the menu of its overseas sister.

Absolutely amazing place! After reading a review on New Yorker, I decided to check out the wine selection at Mulino A Vino — and though I had high expectations I was still surprised in so many ways. Both my friend and I loved our wine(I had Rosso Piceno and my friend had one of the ‘bright and lively’ white wines). Mine was smooth and just the right amount of sweet. All of our dishes were novel and tasty too, especially the pomodoro with heirloom tomato. Definitely a 5-star! Would love to go back soon.

The food is great. I went with a group of 8 and they gave us the cellar room which was lovely and gave us an intimate space to hang out. We did a more a la carte type of dinner; this is what we had: — Gnocchi Sorrentina: Cheesy with the perfect amount of tomato. Pasta is a great texture as well. — Cecina Insalata: Solid enough amount of vegetables. — Tagliatelle: The pasta was an odd texture, but the bolognese was tasty! The restaurant was also really good about making a vegetable version, but beware, they will charge it as a separate small or medium portion! — Polpo Alla Luciana: The potato and tomato mix under the polpo was delicious but the polpo to me was something left to be desired. It was quite soft rather than spring-y, which is how I like my polpo. — Mulino’s Polpetta: Excellent meatballs. Get it. — Pollo Diavola: Okay, easily the best thing on the menu. It is the most tender chicken I have ever had from a restaurant before and it is excellent. The piece of advice that I would give is to be firm with the waiter and dictate your own portion sizes. When you get a dish, you can ask for a small/medium/large portion, but the waiter will dictate it depending on who wants to eat it. I’m not into that, so consider how you want to eat and dictate it directly to the waiter. Overall, it was a great meal. The wine is pretty good, too.

ONEWORD: AWESOME and a MUST My fiancé, I and a colleague stumbled on this restaurant on 4÷19÷15. We had other plans but something caught my eye. It was an exceptional selection. First, the place is a little hard to find, but worth it. Its kind of underground literally. So they were packed and didn’t have any seats on a Sunday night at 930. To me a good sign. Bar: We took three seats at the bar. the bar tender was extremely well versed in the very fine Italian wine selections they had on hand. While sitting, we noticed our seats looked right at the head chef and his prep area. Exceptional as we had the fortune to see the care Chef Antonio puts into his food along with the dedication to his art. We ordered a bottle of wine and then immediately had a seat. One more note, the care the bar tenders take in cleaning the glasses with a fine white cloth was great to see. Not one finger print, and they checked each glass for a minute. Dinner service: Exceptional that is the first thing that comes to my mind. From our server to the taste of the food. Every dish was creative. We split 5 dishes 1. Supertuscan cecina — Fresh ricotta, chickpea yummy 2. Bombolne Alla Norma — Made my fiancé feel like she was in Italy, extremely well prepared and was savory 3. Polpetta — NONOT A MEATBALL lol. It was so tasty and the textures were awesome. 4. Risotto with Truffle Caviar — Ok who doesn’t love Risotto, but I didn’t understand the mix of saffron, truffle and caviar until it exploded in my mouth in a good way. it was amazing taste. Great combination of flavors 5. Tagliatelle felicetti alla bolognese — This was my fiancé’s chef choice, as she requested from one chef to another his favorite dish. Well I wanted to lick the bowl, sorry about the crude comment, but really it was great. Fresh pasta, sause just great. Dessert: Ok 5 dishes between 3 people was a little to much and I wanted to skip dessert. We wanted to have the Bombolne but this wasn’t possible due to running out. I love when places run out of food, means its fresh. Anyway, we had the tiramisu. I thought it maybe boring because I have had it all over the world, but I was wrong. Again creative and so different. Awesome flavors Overall: A must to visit for anyone visiting or staying in NY
