Very old design. Sushi is great. Delicious Philadelphia, California, Shrimp Tempura. Great idea for take away. Closer to hotel Hilton. I try sushi in 3 different restaurants in Manhattan but it’s the best.

UPDATE: I’ve upgraded my rating. I love sushi and I eat it as often as I find myself near a good spot. But I have a silly rule: I only eat sushi when I’m near an ocean where the fish I’m going to eat might actually swim. I know, not totally sane. All that said, I have been coming to Nada Sushi for years and I do not come to New York without making a stop. It seems like it has gotten continually better in the last decade. I was hear a few months ago and gave it four stars. But, after two subsequent visits since June, I’m convinced that they deserve a five star rating. And it was fabulous the first time I visited. This place almost has a neighborhood vibe and the quality of the food and the service are five-star. I feel like I’m stepping into a place where they are really focused on the art of their work. I’ve never had anything less than a perfect meal. The udon soup is Heaven on a cold evening; the tempura is perfection and the teriyaki is terrific. Nada Sushi is an oasis in Midtown and I can’t wait for my next trip to New York.

Great sushi on 50th near Lexington. Great sushi chefs who truly know their craft — artfully prepared rolls. Had a few empty tables at 8:30pm so there was no wait! The shumai was a great appetizer followed by several rolls. Great food!

I had the most amazing food at nada sushi, starting from the cucumber seaweed salad, noodle soup with shrimp tempura. ending up with two hand rolls sushi. the chef is the owner, he is an artist. i must try the place whenever u r near by.

Overall, this is a great sushi spot. I’ve come here twice within the past 24 hours and I was impressed both times. I had about every type of sushimi and it was all fresh and prepared emaculantly. The Tako was really nice too, which is hard to prepare correctly for many sushi restaurants. The people working here are all nice and helpful, plus they serve Sapporo. The prices of rolls are really inexpensive, and sushimi prices are average. They have a large entee selection as well as lunch special selection. When I stay in NY again, I will return.

Pretty pricey dinner, but I guess it’s normal for sushi. I got the Sushi deluxe for one, which was $ 27 with tip. Decent food for the price — the eel was drenched in a heavy sauce, and all 6 of the California rolls tasted basically the same. I did like the salmon sashimi and the variety though.

Les sushis sont très bon dans ce restaurant. Je le recommande. Cependant, les portions sont vraiment petite pour le prix. Donc pour conclure. Bön repas assuré mais un peu cher.

Completely understaffed and inattentive. Terrible service to the point of actually leaving because my lunch hour was up. Sat for 10 minutes unattended. Then it took three tries to order. Then our food took too long so we(and three other parties) walked out! I can’t believe that during lunch rush hour there was only one server. My table of four, two tables of four around us and one table of three all left before ordering or before the food came. I’ve never seen that in my life.

One of the people I support eats at Nada Sushi once a week at a minimum. My worldly co-worker(she has visited almost every country on the globe!) and I made plans for a Japanese lunch, and I suggested we try my boss’ favorite haunt. The décor is simple but relaxing. The service could have been quicker but I appreciated not being rushed. The food was divine. We both opted for sashimi, and, as no exaggeration, some of the best sushi-grade salmon and salmon roe I have ever had were on my plate. The salmon was perfectly cut and the roe, as Goldie Hawn described good caviar in «Overboard,» «exploded in [my] mouth at precisely the right moment.» It was an experience. In conclusion, I wouldn’t mind eating at Nada Sushi on a weekly basis either. It’s a bit pricey, though, so I will try to exercise a little self-control.

Check my full review in my #Mabataki blog: The smoke salmon just melted inside my mouth, and the eel, without realizing it… vanished between my tongue and palate. Totally satisfied with the freshness and textures and where something really pleasant to my sense.

Came at the end of the evening to find gracious service and a classic menu carefully prepared. Not fancy, a good value.

Ate here last night. Food was decent but nothing spectacular. It’s a roomy and clean restaurant but service was SLOW but cordial.

I came in here just before closing and they accommodated my order. The chirashi don was fabulous, hit the spot perfectly. Their menu is well priced and diverse. Quality sashimi. Would recommend!

My wife and I have been to Nada twice now and it’s been a good experience both times. We were seated right away, got our food very quickly, and never felt ignored. We shared 3 different rolls which tasted very fresh. I would come back here anytime I’m in the neighborhood.

I recently had some time to kill in midtown east as the restaurant that I had originally planned on going to was packed. As I wanted to stay in the neighborhood since I had an appointment later in the afternoon, I wanted to find somewhere near for lunch. Needless to say, Midtown east isn’t a place I spend a lot of time in, so I wasn’t quite sure where to go. Eventually, Nada was suggested. This actually isn’t the first time That I’ve been here since it’s been around for ever and I had gone way back in the day. All in all I was quite impressed. The place was not crowded at all and we were seated immediately. The service was good all around. The high point was the food. We got various sushi and sashimi dishes and everything was very good and seemed quite fresh. I definitely plan on coming back. The only potential downside is that the restaurant feels a little dated inside. I wouldn’t go for the atmosphere, but I would come back for the food.

my review is based on the food: the service was friendly, and the place is nice and quiet. I ordered a few rolls and wasn’t really impressed, mediocre and too much rice. Thought it was weird they didn’t offer veggie gyoza. I wouldn’t really suggest this place, but I’ve had worse.

Looking from a Japanese point of view, I am completely satisfied dinning here. It is not fancy, it is not Nomo, but it is the place for the Japanese comfort food. Sushi was fresh, kitchen food is well prepared, and tasty, not overly seasoned. Just right. I particularly love their sushi rice, not too sugary like most generic sushi restaurants. If you are not after a fancy atmosphere, but simply to enjoy nice Japanese dishes. Very pleasant servers, too.

Only go there for lunch if you want an old Japanese woman to tell you how much you should be eating(I tried to order a 3rd roll and was told that two would be enough for me, and then had the menu removed from my hands) and if you want to be told how much soy sauce you should be using(I asked for an extra packet and was told that it was not good for me and that I didn’t need any more). I am a thin woman, so it’s not like her recomendations were based on an observation. Also, only go in for take out during lunch time if you want rolls… sushi and sashimi take too long and you will be told no. I understand that there are cultural differences but she needs to learn to hold her toungue. I rate them an R for RUDE and will not be returning. There are plenty of other sushi restaurants in the area.

Seriously one of the worst sushi I have ever tasted in my life. I came here at 1pm on a wednesday and had the worst experience of my life for not only quality of food but service. the shrimp tempura roll was cold, bland, and was very apparent that it was made hours ago and refrigerated until it was ordered. Service took forever to even get water or tea. Stay far, far away from this place.
