Negro Claro Lounge

I might be one of the few people that doesn’t really like Negro Claro. This place definitely appeals more to the 28+ crowd.
I give their music 5 stars, because it was very diverse and they played throwbacks– who doesn’t love throwbacks?
I give their bottle girls 1 star, because they’re rude. One of them tried to tell me and my friends that we were in the wrong table, which we weren’t so we pointed out the employee who placed us there. She felt stupid, but that’s not my problem.
Anyway, the employee who got us our bottles and hookah was nice, so I give him that. He also kept checking in with us, which was good. Other than that, this place is a little much and it’s always crowded. Some times I want to be in a more toned down setting.
I constantly keep getting invited here, and I always decline. I don’t know, this is not really the place for me. Maybe if I’m tipsy I’ll be more enthusiastic about returning.

Establishment doesn’t even have the name on it … Should have known it would be an iffy night from there. $ 20 to go into a ratchet place where the customer service is extremely poor and the females that work there think that they are Gods gift to the world. Drinks are overpriced at $ 13 for any type of drink and the hookah is ridiculously priced at $ 30. Credit card minimum is $ 45. I would have thought I was in the middle of Times Square but realized I’m in the hood. You would think that by the name Negro Claro and the fact it’s in the heights there would be Latin Music? Wrong nothing but hip hop. Enter at your own risk.

Where do I start? Hookah smoking in the dining area!

Dirty pillows
Forgot one of our orders
After that order was cancelled despite us telling her to cancel it she brought it out anyway
I don’t think it’s the staff just horrible management.
Oh and the waffle looked like cheap frozen Leggo my eggo
Oh my!!! I want my money back and I’m still hungry
Had to ask twice for the bill ;(
Oh and the funniest thing ever the waitress asked «do you want eggs with your omelette?»

Came here to celebrate my cousins’ birthdays and to see DJ Prostyle. The venue is not as big as I thought it would be. When it comes to the customer service, the hookah people were nice… bartenders ugh not so much, even after mentioning how we want to do bottle service and this one bartender just made us wait around aimlessly for our table and didn’t seem too enthusiastic to help at all. To my knowledge the bartenders are different certain nights so I’ll come back on a better night. Worth another try.

A good time, however

I went to Negro Claro Lounge a few times before and I had an awesome time — so I will give them two stars.
However, my past experience was tasteless.
Halloween Night — Thursday 10÷31÷13. The cover charge was $ 20 — no biggie. We walked in and the place was empty (like 20ppl max). It was 12:45am.
We went with the intention to purchase bottles, but decided not to because the place was empty. We grabbed a few drinks at the bar and purchased a hookah (drinks and hookah good). The «bottle service area» was empty so we decided to sit down — enjoy our drinks and smoke our hookah. Everything was cool thus far.
Thirty mins later… the waitress aka bottle service chick (the chick that had her costume painted on) approached my sister and told her we had to move because she needed the table. There were empty tables to the left and right and in front of us — but of course she wanted us to move. She informed my sister that we had to move to the bar. Instead of moving to the bar we moved down since there were four other tables available to the right. That wasn’t enough for her — she took the hookah from the table and took it to the bar. I’m ANNOYED! I did not move. I told her since you’re telling us to move — you better tell everyone else that doesn’t have a bottle to move as well. We had already moved down and given her two tables. She said «oh I don’t need their tables right now — so they don’t need to move.» I told her the SAME rule applies to us… so go get the hookah from the bar and put it back on the table! She did! Her communication skills were horrible and she was very rude! You don’t touch something without giving an explanation — that’s bad customer service! Regular customer or NOT everyone desires to be treated equally.
The problem wasn’t moving because rules are rules, but it’s how the situation was handled.
Unfortunately, I will NOT be going back to Negro Claro. The rude waitress ruined it for me.

I was hear last Saturday and I had a lot of Fun! for my Friends Birthday Party! We got there early so did not have to pay for Cover! around 10:30pm or so! Our Bartender was very Nice! They had a Live band and Singer performing in Spanish they sounded really good! Around 12:30am things picked up they removed all the Tables and Transformed the bar into a full Scale Lounge! DJ Mixed top Forties! EDM and Spanish and did it well. Drinks were good. The only complain I would have is the Service got worst the more Bartenders they put behind the bar?! How is that possible when it like 8 of you back there in a small space? one incident I ordered a water Gave the bartender a 10 and she tried not to come back with my change?! Yeah because
I was about to Give you a 5 dollar tip on a 5 dollar water??? she had left it on the counter like I was about to turn my head and ignore it. Nice try… smh… eventually I had to signal to the other bartender to point to one that took my order to bring me my change. The being said everything else was on point though. I will come back sooner or later…
PS: show up at least before 11pm and you wont have to Pay not sure when they start Charging a 20 dollar cover but I got there at about 10:45pm on a Saturday Night.

Ive been here twice and I can deff say that I have had a great experience every time. Reserved tables are well tended too. We were celebrating my friends birthday and the waitress was very attentive, coming around making sure we didn’t need anything else and cleaning up used cups.
Drinks at the bar are de-​lish and reasonable in price, loved my Malibu drinks that night!

Came to Negro Y Claro for the first time in Dec 8^th to celebrate my birthday and I must say it was the least STRESSFUL planning and execution I’ve had ever in planning and doing a party.
The staff was so helpful.
The promoter was great in answering the thousand and 1 questions i had (b/​c my friends always have 3000 to ask).
The birthday package (3 bottles and 1 champagne bottle, dinner for two and a free hookah for $ 375 included the gratuity and tip) was AMAZING and so affordable compared to a. places downtown and b. places in this area.
I wanted spanish music for my bday and was not disappointed but b/​c my friends also like top 40’s I was happy that they played everything (surprisingly no Rihanna was played and most DJ’s use her music as a clutch).
The crowd was mostly Latino and everyone was dressed «grown and sexy» and were so respectful and mindful of personal space. They understood that excuse me meant I need to pass.
I can’t wait to go back in warmer weather to use the outdoor area.
