New York Booze Cruise is a yacht charter with its objective in the name, booze on a cruise, and mix food in there. Which actually doesn’t seem like a good mix really judging from the hurl smell in the bathroom. Architecturally, the boat is nothing to look at exterior or interior but who’s really there for that. And considering it’s pretty darnn cheap compared to other charters $ 23 a pop, You’d be a fool to expect more. The D.J. was good, the quality of crowd was mixed between party goers and casual socializers. And of course a great view of the city. That’s as far as the good side gets. There’s no air conditioning in the interior of the boat which made for a harsh condition just standing in there, never mind dancing. The food is not as advertised, its $ 10 per plate plus more for other selections. And it’s edible like high school cafeteria food, but don’t expect more. One of the unfortunate reminders that you’re on an ‘economy’ cruise is security. They act more like corrections officers. You feel like you’re being ushered into and out of a cell block. They yell and shout a lot«at» the boat’s guests not«to». On a personal level they seemed like cool people, so I fault mgmt for not incorporating an emphasis on customer service. And I will say the boat accidentally bumped onto a harbor wall way before docking, but I’m sure that’s a rarity. But I felt it was important to note. All in all, spend the extra $ 80 and go on a comfortable charter, Or go ahead, know what you’re getting into and just drink, dance, and hurl away :0)
