We just had a very pleasant dinner! The atmosphere is charming and romantic! We had a delicious appetizer: «Halumi Cheese» in grape leaves… A great pistachio crusted salmon and a flavorful cuscus Royal! Our waiter, Ben, was professional and friendly.

Place looks pretty cool inside. It’s very cozy and comfortable. I like the design and the music too(Arabic). The atmosphere is calm which is good. For some reason every meal I got was really salty. I am not sure why but maybe the recipes require a lot of salt? I could not finish my meal because my mouth was so dry and thirsty. Also, the server completely forgot us while we are waiting for him to clean up the table and give us the check. After 15 – 30 minutes of waiting I actually saw why he wasn’t coming — he was too busy flirty with another table! We were the last ones to get the check and our table was still dirty… I have worked in restaurants and that is poor service.

Tonight I had the pleasure of dining here with a friend and her nine-year-old daughter after they saw a show in the area. Our server was extremely conscientious and attentive. She was quick to make sure the youngest member of our party was satisfied with her order. We shared the Nomad trio dip with lovely warm pita, my friend had the fish special and I had an amazing falafel burger. There was plenty of food and we were never rushed, so we could soak up the warm ambience(including the much appreciated fire). I would definitely return. Thanks for a great evening!

My friends and I went to Nomad last night after a long day of travel. The menu looked good, and we kind of stumbled upon it. We walked in, were seated immediately, and 40 minutes later we were let in on the secret that there was a party of 25 in the back, which was why our food was taking so long. «Ok,» we thought, «it can’t take that much longer. It would have been nice if they told us there would be such a long wait for food when we first came in, but how long could they make us wait?» 1.5 hours was the answer(for some of us). Almost 2 hours for me. I know what you’re thinking – why didn’t you guys just leave? We were assured that the food would be coming soon, they gave us more sangria(which succeeded in making me drunk and angry), and eventually we were so committed to the idea of getting our food that it was almost like we were testing ourselves. Eventually, as we slumped onto the table, some food arrived, and a single fry revived me. While I waited an additional 30 minutes for my food, I had the time to call my mom. Eventually my food came, and it wasn’t that good(dry lamb sausage? Ugh). Won’t be back, and won’t advise any of my friends to go to Nomad.

Incredible service(best I’ve seen in NYC in a long time!), the ambiance is incredible with a ton of little design details… but the food was mediocre. Definitely not bad, though… I’d go back!

Went here for my friend’s birthday. The ambiance is very cozy, also the music is just right not too loud, but just sets the mood. I got the half chicken with mashed potatoes and kale. It was good, but it wasn’t amazing. I also got a fresh pomegrante and ginger ale drink. It had an interesting taste. I am probably biased because I love very tasty food. I also enjoy eating spicy food and meal prepared with a lot of spices. Nomad just didn’t do it for me. Everybody else seemed to like their food. Good for groups. Good service. Good food. Great company. It wouldn’t be my go to spot, but it is good for large groups. Ample seating and friendly staff. They will surely be able to accomodate you.

This place has hands down the best happy hour menu /deal ever. The falafel burger /trio dip /and regular burger with the sangria was my MO when the weather was warmer and they had the outdoor seating. The burger comes with fries and is so divine — super filling and only $ 8. The owner is incredibly friendly — recognized my friends and I after a couple visits and always checked up on us and talked to us. Also the waitstaff is so sweet — Maria in particular along with another man whose name I can’t remember are the best. I’m sure their dinner and lunch are amazing too since the food and service in general is so on point here. Good vibes all around ~

One of the best middle eastern restaurants in NYC. Unpretentious but very pleasant and authentic décor plus an imaginative menu of items served perfectly make this a favorite of mine. The couscous — all of them — are excellent, as is the haloumi cheese in grape leaves, the humus sampler appetizer and the chicken main course. They also make their own sangria, which is definitely worth a try. Prices are on the low side the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is charming without being in your face about it. What more could you ask for?

Have come back a number of times now, so I thought an update was worthwhile. The food still stands as a good point of entry into the North African food scene — it’s tasty, pretty traditional but still manages to cater to the American palate as appropriate/necessary. Staff are always friendly. Having spent time in Northern Africa, I really appreciate the food and culture they’re trying to bring into the east village. I would almost argue that they should take the level of authenticity a step further, but that’s just me and having been to Northern Africa I would be comfortable with it, but I recognize everyone else might not be, so the choice is theirs!

I want to go back soon. All dishes we ordered last time were super delicious — cheese, lamb tacos, chicken pastilla and a meat mixed stew with couscous… The decorations in the backroom is very colorful and chic. It’s definitely a very nice atmosphere to eat with a group of cheerful friends. Don’t go with quiet people — it’s bit noisy there.

The atmosphere was very personal. Low lighting, Moroccan decorations, unique tile patterns on the floor, the ambiance alone was quite impressive. The staff was very kind and our server was able to balance many large groups very well. I ordered the leg of lamb. It came with almonds, dates, and was in some type of honey/spicy sauce. Quite an exotic meal and very reasonably priced. Can’t recall what the others in my party ordered but I do remember we all left full and happy. Most certainly one of the best restaurants I’ve gone to in the city. I definitely concur that this place deserves to be on the top 100 restaurant list.

This Tunisian spot really disappointed with their Seasonal Vegetable Couscous $ 10.89, dishing out huge chunks of texturally terrible(and year-round) vegetables atop unseasoned couscous(this must be a real profit leader for them). Food was not ready when I arrived after the Eat24 pickup window despite them being empty, but at least I didn’t waste time or money here dining in with a BBEats or Amazon Local deal, huh?

$ 10 oysters and drink for happy hour until 7pm! I came here with a group of people and of course since it’s summer there was no available seating outside so we sat indoors. The venue is medium sized and it was pretty quiet on the Friday we went. We tried the trio dip, margarita pizza, and mussles. Everything was decent and good for the price :).

Food: Ok Service:Ok Ambience: Good Decided to meet some friends here because most of the meat they use is Halal and a couple of my friends only eat Halal meat. Overall the experience left me underwhelmed. The food was OK nothing special, the service when we got it was really good but it was so intermittent that I can not call it good. It took the food 45 minutes or so to come out. If I had to come here I will probably give them another try but this will not be my first choice.

A ScoutMob deal landed us here, and I have to say it was lovely! The best part of the experience was the server. A bald, cheery North African man greeted and waited on us, and his happy attitude and perfect service just made this experience great. We sat outside and enjoyed the sun, as well as the happy hour specials. We got the white sangria which I didn’t love, too much OJ, but for the $ 4 price tag I didn’t complain. For a starter we did the dip trio – yum! My favorite was the muhamara, creamy with a hint of cilantro, with the cucumber dip coming in a close second. The hummus was North African style, grainy and cumin-y; it was fine but not my fave. For entrees, I got the couscous royal and loved it. Everything you expect it to have, over super fluffy couscous. I especially loved the lamb as it was falling-apart-tender. My boyfriend got the lamb shank though and neither of us loved it. The lamb was good but the shank didn’t have too much meat on it, and the sauce was a bit too perfumey and sweet. Overall though, the nice service, the outdoor seating, and the yummy couscous would bring me back – especially at the very reasonable price tag!

What a charming place! We were utterly won over by the gracious servers, all very hospitable, and the inviting décor. Noise level while we were there would be great for either a date(front room) or a gathering of friends(back areas), depending on where you sit. The dishes we tried were enjoyable: — a solidly executed, if standard, beet salad with chevre and mesclun(slightly overdressed); — a wonderfully simple, rich-but-light soup of the day made with spinach and zucchini, and probably potato, as well; — roasted fish of the day — Mediterranean sea bass — with sides of sauteed spinach and mushrooms, and okra(a nice, fat, fresh fish seasoned with a spice rub, moist and well grilled); and — a merguez sausage sandwich with fries and salad(simple, but all components were nicely executed from the toasted ciabatta-like bread to the grilled sausage, nicely dressed greens, and crisp fries). We agree with other reviewers that the sangria was not the best our city has to offer and a glass of red wine was served much too warm. We didn’t mind much, though, since our primary purpose was not drinking. The little wood oven is a great touch and I’m guessing those wood-fired flatbread pizzas are amazing. They smelled and looked fabulous!

I came here with a deal from Gilt($ 55-not including tax and tip) for 2 entrees, 2 appetizers, 1 dessert and a small pitcher of sangria. The actual prices were a bit pricey but everything we had was good! The service was nice and we were able to sit outside on a nice day. It was slightly crowded outside but not uncomfortable. Id recommend the salmon– it was really good! The trip dip was also very good along with crème brûlée for dessert!
