This is my favorite spot to get dried seafood and other goods such as herbal medicine, ointments, creams, lozenges, and medicated plasters. It reminds me of going to the Chinese herbal doctor in China where they will meticulously gather the necessary herbs, dried plants and possibly even animal parts(I know, might sound gross) to take charge of your health and wellbeing. It is definitely different from going into your local pharmacy and getting your script filled! The staff here are always friendly and helpful, able to answer your questions and will not hesitate to show you what suits you the most. They also have a huge selection of Tiger Balm, Salonpas, herbal supplements, Zheng Gu Shui, Ching Wan Hung, Mopiko, and much much more. I tend to pick up a thing or two while I’m here, but my main attraction here is the dried seafood. For those of you who aren’t familiar with dried goods, it is the world’s oldest method of preserving goods and it’s nutrients. They are also common ingredients in Chinese cooking and tonics, like dried shrimps, scallops, and mushrooms. One of my favorites this store offers at a moderate price are dried oysters. There are just so many items this store carries you won’t miss going to other spots around town. Best of all is they have canned abalone and often have a sale! The tea leaves are also a must try. I’ll be returning to gather more goods next visit!
