NYMS Moving

I’ve had to do both long distance and short distance moves and this has to be the worst company I’ve ever worked with. I hired them to move me from NJ to California. The crew that moved us out of our apartment in NJ were cool. They moved a bit slow, but they did a good job (hence, the two stars). From there it all went down hill. It took over 3 weeks since we arrived in California to get our things. Once they arrived, we had so many damaged boxes and nicks in our wood furniture. It was so bad you had to laugh to keep from crying. I’m writing this review a year later because during yet again another move that I’m making locally, one of the movers points out the irreparable damage to my bed caused by my last movers NYMS! They may be good for local moves, but if you’re doing long distance, you’re better off going elsewhere.

I used NYMS for a move from New York to DC. NYMS did the packing and moving. I couldn’t have been happier with Mr. Patterson and his whole team! They were kind, worked hard, and careful with everything they touched. Highly recommend this company!

I couldn’t be happier with New York Movers Service — they were very professional throughout the whole moving process. I got a quote for a flat rate over the phone and I was sent an e-​contract online. Many moving companies charge an hourly-​rate, but that makes me uncomfortable — so I was happy with a flat rate, knowing exactly what I will pay with no added charges. They also provided an insurance certificate to my new building. The 3 movers that arrived on moving day were on-​time, friendly and very professional as well. They wasted no time, were fast, efficient, and they carefully wrapped all of my furniture, artwork, & electronics. NYMS doesn’t charge extra for wrapping items like TV’s or mattresses. They did charge a bit extra for wardrobe boxes, but that was so worth it! The move from my 1 bedroom apt only took 4 hours (which included a 10 minute drive to the new apt). NYMS even called me afterwards to make sure I was happy with the move. They may be new on Unilocal,but they are not new to the moving process in NYC — they are very experienced movers! They made my move so stress free. Overall, I would highly recommend them!
