Good food. Probably closer to a 3.5 star rating. Good food, not great.

I have been there twice for business lunches, never impressed. Food is good but for the price you expect something exceptional. Lunch entrees run @ 30 – 40 $ each plus sides. Upscale atmosphere of you want to impress customers or a date but else not worth the price.

We had an amazing dinner here celebrating my parents 50th Anniversary! The food was very fresh and flavorful! The service was wonderful and they went out of their way to make my parents feel very special by surprising them with a special dessert and moscato toast. We needed directions to get to our Broadway show and both server and manager gave us step by step directions!

If you want fresh seafood in NYC, this place always delivers. I’ve never had a bad meal. It’s definitely upscale so keep it in mind for special occasions. The tuna absolutely melts in your mouth.

The aggregate review is ~3 stars, which is absolutely spot-on. Came here for a pre-theater dinner and left not disappointed, but with no intention of coming back. The highlights were actually the free portions of the meal — the amuse bouche(a demitasse of gazpacho) was amazing, as were the petit fours after the meal. For starters, we got the crudo + ceviche — both fine, neither amazing. For mains, we had the durado + general tso’s lobster — both«chef’s signatures» were OK, not great. Not a negative experience by any means, but it seems like this place is kind of on autopilot.

I dine here every few weeks and always order The Rock seafood tower for two. It has oysters, clams, mussels, escargot, shrimp and 3 tartars. I love the sauces that accompany the tower especially the passionfruit infusion. It is on my list of best seafood towers in the city and never disappoints. In terms of wine, the Sancerre and Chablis are my favorite whites. The souffles are made fresh and the Chocolate Layer Trifecta is delicious. It is a pretty dessert with chocolate cake, toffee crunch and chocolate crémeux. Order gelato on the side to make it a dream come true. I recommend the vanilla chai and praline flavors which come with shortbread bites. Attentive service, nice managers and classy décor.

Sorry to say the food is not up to par for this price point. Fish us just ok. Overdone. Many of the dishes are too busy and cover the taste of the fish. Serivce– they try but keep asking us everything ok? Do i really want to tell them. No its not their fault

A whole lot of meh. Midtown mediocrity strikes again. At this uninspired seafood restaurant, the fare seems designed for those who love overly sweet, overly seasoned preparations of subpar baseline ingredients. Started off with the clam chowder… nothing mind-blowing, but elegant and traditional in its flavor profile. The accompanying bread, however, was dry and cold. There was an amuse bouche cucumber soup that everyone in our party seemed to enjoy. Then came the oysters, which were, how shall I say… not good. I’m no oyster expert, but no one in our 6-person party seemed interested in them. They come with only one sauce, which is some kind of sweet citrusy dressing. So far, hit-miss-hit-miss. Then came the main course — the General Tso’s Lobster for which our waiter made a hard sell(«it’s our chef’s signature dish, the perfect demonstration of how he marries sweet and savory») — it was absolutely terrible. The same sweet goop you get at one of those hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurants with sun-faded menus, duck sauce, and stale wonton cookies. Passed on dessert because I had already hit my sugar limit. Hey — are we all lucky first world a-holes if we dine here? Yes, in the grand scheme of things, yes. But given that constraint, Oceana is nowhere near as good as one would hope. Stay thirsty, my friends.

Came here for a sponsored dinner. The food was good, but honestly I’ve had better seafood at stands by the ocean in Maine(obvi!). It’s an upscale place, good for the after-work or work lunch crowd. Not really my scene, but who can say no to a free dinner?!

Very spacious restaurant. Don’t think a reservation is necessary. Love the foie gras appetizer and chocolate mousse desert. Entrees were not so impressive. Service was fine. There was an exhibition of fishes which was cool.

I liked Oceana. I went here for work so we had a few appetizers and a few mains and shared. I got to try quite a few things but my favorite was the hand rolls offered as an app. The wine list was quite long and a sommelier was on hand to help us select our wine for our apps and mains — really appreciated given the length of the wine list. Overall I would recommend this place if you can go with a few people and try out a lot of their menu as I would find it very hard to pick just one thing off this menu.

Severely disappointed & ridiculously expensive for what it is. Four shrimp & four oysters = $ 51. As reference, an entire seafood at Porterhouse costs $ 54, and includes much, much more. They may have jacked up the price for this because the black angus ribeye we ordered medium came out well done. When the manager came and apologized to us, promising a new properly cooked steak, we were once again hopeful, but instead were disappointed that our new steak was now bleeding & rare. We sent it back and told them we no longer had an appetite, nor the patience. The manager apologized again, but to our dismay, our bill was still over $ 50, we did not order any drinks, wine or appetizers. This is appalling, as it was meant to be a birthday celebration, and instead was a huge disappointment.

I came here with a work group for the first for happy hour and it was way better then I expected. I work across the street so it is one of those places that I always thought, eh I’ll make it there I work across the street let me try somewhere else. Sure enough it took a few years but I made it! The selection of appetizers and drinks were great and everything came out hot and fresh. They do get busy during after work hours as well as lunch from what I can see through the windows, but it is a great, classy spot to gather with work colleagues. It is expensive but tasty all the same. I would recommend the shishito peppers, oyster selection, pork buns, fish tacos, pretty much everything!

Had our Christmas Eve dinner at Oceana and it was a wonderful experience. The seafood was incredibly fresh and the service was just impeccable.

Went for lunch today. Was disappointed. Food is still good. Service was amateurish. I love Oceana but… 1) Busboy attempted to clear my plate while I was still eating. 2) Waiter poured sediment into my wine glass. 3) Food runner dripped some $ 17 clam chowder on my wife and awkwardly laughed it off. 4) 1 bad oyster sent bad — staff handled it ok but not great. Monday lunch after Christmas, most likely not the«A» Team working, but for Oceana, I expected more.

Absolutely AMAZING lobster roll for lunch! At $ 23, I would hope so too. The lobster salad was not overly creamy and the mixture is just very light and fresh. Over a square ciabatta bread, which gave the sandwich a slightly sweet taste. The portion size is just perfect for a light lunch, but probably not enough for those that eat slightly more.

Dined here with a large group on a Friday night. We had the private room in the back right reserved. We were lead to our room as soon as we arrived where the bar staff was ready to go with drinks and appetizers. Passed sushi lobster rolls, Peruvian style ceviche and prosciutto arancini were spot on! There was ample seating for our group, our first course were the jumbo lump crab cakes that were outstanding! They were shaped more like egg rolls and lightly breaded, but they were so good! They came with a wasabi lime sauce for dipping that everyone enjoyed. For the main course I had the filet mignon with seared polenta cake and a red wine morel jus, it says the steak was served medium but mine was over, I didn’t send it back however, as I mentioned I was with a large group and didn’t want to make a fuss about it. I did notice two people in our group send their steaks back as their steaks were over cooked as well. Everyone who ordered the roasted cod with black bean vinaigrette said it was delicious, people enjoyed the salmon as well. The dessert was the cheesecake with gingerbread, the cheesecake was pretty good, but probably not something I would order again though. Overall the service was great, Stephanie, the event coordinator was excellent. She was always available to answer any of my questions during the planning process and was so helpful. Service during our event was spot on, the bartenders were attentive and constantly refilling wine tableside, the appetizers were passed around thoroughly and the atmosphere was so enjoyable. The room we had was gorgeous, there was a large decorated Christmas tree in it and the white tablecloths made it really elegant.

This place is all show no go! Beautiful however the the food was pretty bad, worst– very expensive !!! Maybe it’s me, coming from Boston clam chowder here was very below average. I shared a paella with my friend and it was dry and the seafood felt like it was overcooked. My friend salad was warm, smelled like fish. I wish I could have said something better.

Came here for a birthday dinner. The restaurant is really big and good for groups! There is a bar that you can sit at while waiting for the whole party to arrive. Service was good but the sommelier was a little pushy. We split the Oceana seafood tower(lots of great variety!) and calamari. I shared the seafood paella for 2. this is a LOT of food! It was good paella but I think Boqueria’s is better. We also got a few bottles of wine. they have a huge selection! Then, at the end they brought out a small cheesecake with a shot. This place is either Michelin recommended or had a Michelin star at one point but out of everything I tried, I would only go back for the seafood tower. My friend had some Hilton membership so we got a 15% discount on the bill. so if you have that, don’t forget to use it! Would recommend to seafood lovers to check out! Also good for large parties looking for a fresh variety of seafood.

Este es un elegante restaurante, con comida refinada y muy buena, probé las carnes y los pescados, donde destacó el «Pargo» o «Snapper» en inglés que fue lo mejor que comí, es un restaurante un poco caro pero recomendable 100%. Saludos y a disfrutar.

I had been wanting to visit Oceana for quite a while and honestly for being a star-rated Michelin restaurant I was somewhat disappointed with the food… Food: we had the jumbo lump crab cakes for appetizers, they were good but a little salty in my opinion. We also had the Taro Wrapped Dorade, a grilled trout and the Norwegian Skrei Cod and I thought they all lacked flavor. Dessert was good: Chocolate soufflé and vanilla butterscotch ice cream. The ambiance was great and the service superb.
