I like this hareware store best in the Washington Heights Area best of them all, so far this year. I would tell you bring your common to your difficult business here they do not have the advanced nor the play sand, bensonite clay, making for soap, carbon rods, and other projects related accessories items to work with even though some employees have some welding experience. I would come to this hardware store more inquiry and resolutions for common problems plaguing the regular house hipster, tenants, super intendant, and so on. I will give this place a 5 out of 5 in the Washington Heights area. The only things they need inproving on are the items that I mentioned for a more base of growing customers. Carbon Rods are a must.

I just moved here and am building some cheap furniture. They had everything I needed to help me make some modifications for stength. They were also very friendly, helpful, and willing to answer all my questions and give some advice.

Very friendly helpful staff. I bought a key chain 3 foot tape measure for $ 2. They did not have the size curtain I needed, but I would certainly try them again

On Wed. 13013, at about 4:30pm, trying to get in, the police lock(type of lock is no longer used) on my front door of my pre-war apt. broke off at the cylinder, leaving me locked out of my apt. After about a half hour of walking around in search of a local locksmith and 3 hardware stores later, I ended up at 165 St. HARDWAREINC. which is some 15 blocks away from my apt. Behind the counter is Emilio, who just happened to be the locksmith on the premise, on duty and available. After telling him my situation he agreed to handle the job. The 165 Hardware owner, Ramon Lora, drove us back to my apt. Emilio was able to get the door open, make a phone call to track down the replacement part to repair the old police lock, left to pick up the part, returned and repaired the lock… all before the wifey came home. Everything was done by 6pm… and for an EXTREMELY reasonable fee. This was definitely 5Star, BIG tip service all around. Emilio, Ramon…165 St. HARDWAREINC. saved my day.
