I highly do not recommend this DJ/MC entertainment team for anyone’s wedding. 1. One hour before the ceremony, Keyboard player/DJ(Kimmy) said she is not bringing the keyboard. The $ 300 she asked included renting the keyboard, speakers, etc. I had to call her and go over our agreement again 1 hour before my wedding. She finally brought the keyboard. 2. Keyboard player/DJ did not come prepared. I gave her the hymn to play and the song to play when we march out(ceremony) few weeks in advanced. Also my friend(also who knows Kimmy) was playing violin and she gave Keyboard player/DJ music score to play few weeks in advanced. However, she did not come prepared and was playing wrong music notes and definitely was not worth it. 3. Microphone did not work at all. One Step NY team claimed that the pastor did not know how to use it. However, NOONE from this team explained to him in advanced. Also when people were looking for their staff, NOONE was around to fix this problem. Yet, they kept on making excuses and never apologized. Also during violin playing, no one put a microphone in front of the violin so the guests in the middle and back seats could not hear anything. *** Today one of my guests told me that she overheard during our ceremony that the staffs from One Step NY talking among themselves that microphone did not work because it ran out of battery. Yet they blamed the pastor. Ridiculous! *** 4. During the cocktail hour, the main MC, Ricky, came down and even with the program I created and sent to him via email was in his own hands, he said wrong things that were not on the program. He said he had another wedding and got confused. 5. Ricky promised on our last meeting that he will bring in Karaōke for my now husband to sing easily with lyrics showing so he doesn’t have to memorize. But he never notified us but during cocktail hour, he told us that machine broke so he did not bring it. Then he blamed my husband for not memorizing the lyrics. Ricky took my husband into the reception hall and asked Kimmy to find one on Youtube and after that he asked my husband«now are you satisfied?» 6. When the bridal party was entering the reception hall, I specifically wrote down for him to play slow classical music for both parents’ entrance. However, he completely ignored and played some crazy loud music for them. Also he made same comments he made few years ago at my friend’s wedding(when parents enter, bride & groom enter). 7. As soon as I and my husband entered into the reception hall, DJ started our first dance song right away, not even giving us few seconds to settle in. We were rushed through. 8. TV was a BIG problem. We had no idea those TVs were going to be that small. I could not see anything up on the screen. Guests complained that they could not see our wedding slide show because the TVs were too small. 9. During the toasting, DJ kept on playing the music so loud and turn it off then turn it on and turn it off repeatedly. 10. While it was time for guests to eat their salads, etc. Ricky did not go around each table and entertain like he promised. During our first meeting, he even showed us card magic that he was going to do during this time. However, he just went to his table and ate the food. 11. CAKECUTTING… I told him not to play that«congratulations~ congratulations~» song specifically but he did. 12. He promised that he will be bringing 4 staffs. However, I found out today that he posted my wedding ceremony video on his Facebook wall without asking me if he could/not, and he indicated that only staffs who came that day were: Kimmy & Ricky & Jake. He did not mention to us that the number of staffs changed. I even asked him on Wednesday before we were paying our final payment to the wedding hall to confirm that he is bringing 4 staffs and he did. But on our wedding day, without any notice, he decided to just bring 3. 13. I asked him to translate key terms/words/phrases during the reception time because there were non-Korean guests. However, he did not. 14. At the end, he played a game. I told him specifically not to play games that would make people uncomfortable. The game ended by him asking these 2 girls to find a red lipstick and put on any guys’ lips and get a kiss on the cheek. Um… why would you do this at a wedding? I specifically wrote in the program in red color, not to play something like this. 15. After the reception, he came by to collect his payments. I told him that I put in the tips but did not put in what he asked for on our contracting day(he asked 15% and up) since he knows what he did. He smirked and said«OK» and left. He never even once said during the whole time Congratulations, Thank You, or Sorry. Overall, We received so many complaints from our guests that MC and DJ did not do much during our wedding. They broke the deals we made. We do not recommend this vendor.
